Owner needs some lessons in manners. A relative stopped in to get a coffee. He commented to his young boys how delicious everything smelled and proceeded to ask a couple of questions about the bakery operation and products. The owner replied by grunting and telling him that he was too tired to answer all his questions. My relative cancelled his order and left. I don't care how tired you are or what kind of a mood you are in, You NEVER should treat a friendly customer that way. According to your other reviews, you have wonderful pastries. I am local and usually go to Sift but they are closed on Mondays, so I wanted to try somewhere new. After 20 minutes of searching, I can't find a phone number, a menu, or website link that actually works. Just a Facebook that hasn't been used since 2015. I have no idea if you're open, doing pick up orders, or what you sell. I would hate for a small business to miss out on customers during this time, but your online system/info is nonexistent :( read more

Unimpressed with this place. Coffee was beyond weak. Powdered hot chocolate, seriously? All the pastries we ordered were definitely from yesterday. An offer to warm the pastries would've been nice, but that didn't happen. Prices are way too high for what we got. As someone who lives in Mystic, Lighthouse Bakery, is my go to every weekend. They have it all! Their baguettes are absolutely phenomenal along with their other breads they make in house. The pastries are to die for. My absolute favorite breakfast sandwich is a bacon egg and cheese on the fresh made ciabatta bread. Lighthouse never fails to impress me. 15/10 read more

This is one of my absolute favorite places in Mystic. The place doesn't seem like much, tucked away behind a carpet shop, when you first step in but their pastries are to die for. We drove from New Haven and will definitely be coming back again. We tried their French Napoleon pastry and their tiramisu and both were amazing. This is basically a no nonsense bakery located just off of Main Street, directly across from the Whaler's Inn. A word of caution...the owner (he speaks broken English) doesn't have a very large selection. It's probably because he doesn't get a lot of walk-in traffic to warrant it. But if you're not picky, chances are you can find something you like. I've gotten various turnovers and muffins in the past and can't complain. Prices are reasonable. Hands down the best iced vanilla oatmilk latte I have ever had! Yummy breakfast sandwiches too! If you visit, plan to stay a bit, only a few outdoor tables available and their grill is small so it may take awhile. Worth the wait and it's tucked away in a shady area out of the sun. This small, off the beaten path bakery is great. There are a few parking spots if you take the entrance, so you don't have to park on the street. The cream puffs and the raspberry ones were delicious, definitely have to stop here for that sweet tooth craving. read more

I stopped this place on our way from vacation, because it took too long to wait for crossing drawbridge. This place is just so adorable. Father and son run family business here, everything was made from scratch. (They said they are delivering to local hotels, too) We ordered ham sandwich and backed goods. Because bread is just baked on the morning, it tasted better. Corn muffin used real corns w/ corn powder and my boy loved it. Coffee was just made for us. The omelette was full of veggies and feta cheese and served with slices of French bread on the side. I'm definitely a fan and my wife is a rabid aficionado. After a year of driving past the entrance to the Lighthouse we finally stopped off to give it a try after the other restaurant we had hoped to dine at had not yet opened (hey it was 8 am and this is kind of a resort town). I was kind of leery at first. The shop is a couple of table separated from the bakery by the display case and the cash register..... very open plan. We ordered our breakfast fare, I, a burrito and MK an omelet. Since this was our first time, the owner compted us a brownie to go with our coffee while we waited.(Nice touch No. 1). A very good brownie at that. My burrito was the best I've had in the Mystic area and more than filling. MK love the omelet which was served with toast made from the Lighthouse French bread. As it was a week day and not busy, we heard the history of the place. Briefly, its the owners' dream.(To me a 100 hour a week job in a low margin business is kind of a nightmare, but to each his own, and what else can you do with a Ph.D.in chemistry.) It does, however, mean that every thing is a matter of personal pride and as such you can expect it to be great. On the way out we were given a sample of the Napoleon then being made, excellent flakey pastry, excellent crème Anglais. I've been searching for proper baked goods since moving to CT last year, and this delightful bakery did not disappoint! The baked goods were absolutely delicious! I bought a variety of items and enjoyed them all, all freshly baked and wonderful. Very light and fluffy or flakey (depending on what I ordered). Absolutely delicious, by the time I finished I was picking the crumbs off my shirt it was sooo good! Wonderful service too, the chap behind the counter was telling me about his family and it was refreshing to talk about traveling and everything. This is an off the beaten path kind of place. It is obvious that they make most of the stuff they serve, the smell is intoxicating when you walk in...yeasty and yummy. We got omelettes and French toast and a latte...the bread that came with the omelette was fresh, toasted and buttery. They brought condiments in cups, not individually wrapped...much more earth-friendly and appreciated! No straws and very little waste...YAY! The food was terrific and reasonably priced. This is a small business that is doing so much really well...support them! They are making great food! Now if they'll move to compostable plates or reusable ones and silverware I'll be really happy! read more
