May 2025 Menu

Came in this morning for breakfast 05022025... The front of the house was very clean and well put together. The staff was very friendly and proficient at their jobs. I also took an updated menu...

French Toast

A small, centrally-located cafe serving up breakfast foods in Seward -- it was one of the few things open during the tourist off-season, so we ducked in before heading to the docks for our tour. The French Toast was good, but I wish they had more vegetarian breakfast foods that weren't sweets. They had ample seating inside and the food came out quick -- it worked in a pinch.

Good for a quick breakfast. We came here to grab food before a boat tour of Kenai Fjords and took the food onboard. Walking in, there is an overwhelming scent of cleaning products. The line was long but moved quickly. Our food was ready quickly. They have a big variety for breakfast and lots of baked goods. The bagel sandwich was decent, but the cinnamon roll seemed to be missing the cinnamon. Nothing spectacular, wouldn't come here for a sit down breakfast if I had more time.

The customer service is a bit not great. Otherwise a nice place to get coffee and pastries.

Woke up late and was concerned not many options would be available for breakfast in Seward. Yay for this place as they are open til 2 pm. I ordered the breakfast deal which you get to pick your protein, potatoes and eggs. I opted for the sausage patties and scrambled eggs. Breakfast was like a home cooked meal which i needed bc the prior day was gray and rainy. Food was good and potatoes had that nice crisp and seasoning. I also ordered a raspberry bear claw and that was gooooddd. Service was good and quick. Definitely a good choice for breakfast in Seward.

Breakfast burrito

I'm sad we found this place on our last day in Seward because we definitely would have come back more than once. Everyone working was so kind, and the food was delicious. My husband and and I each had the breakfast burrito which was so filling, and my kids split the pancakes. They were huge.

I'm not usually this chunky looking. The food did it.

Ordered veggie omelet. Got one with bacon. Owner then said it was my fault. Hmmm. Guess I don't love Jesus enough.

They told us that they have fresh caught ones and can do a halibut burger quickly . I must say it was one of the most delicious fish Ive had, so soft, lighlt spiced and done! Tldr During my travels in Alaska, i had the chance to stay in cooper's landing. Its a pristine area with stunning lake, views and even moose sightings. Only on my last day did i take a chance to visit Sunrise Inn. Though we originally planned to do have the breakfast there, we had reached late and it was time for lunch.. Im reminded of one of the staff who was a native of Kodiak Island and insisted that if at all, we planned to travel to kodiak, we should consult her :) . Hopefully that comes true one day Till then.. cheers!

We stopped in today on the way back from Homer. We knew they had been up for sale for some time,…read moreand our server confirmed it was now under new management. The menu was different but I was happy to see they still had the chicken wrap on there. It went downhill from then. I asked for a Gold Medal Chicken Wrap, with crispy chicken (ranch was not an option, previously it was my go-to choice) you could have hot wings sauces, or honey BBQ - and this is my bad, I initially thought that it said honey mustard, so I said honey mustard. It came with a choice of tater tots onion rings or fries. I chose tater tots, but changed my mind to fries. Husband just ordered a piece of carrot cake. I was very disappointed with this wrap, not just in comparison to the wrap that used to be available, but just as a wrap being offered by a restaurant in general. The honey bbq sauce (I had asked for some on the side, to dip it into) was red. And I couldn't taste any BBQ smokiness. It was very tomatoey. I queried about my honey-mustard error, and she showed me the menu, and that mistake was definitely on me. I asked if she had some ranch I could use as a dip, and was brought some. So anyway, the wrap - loosely wrapped and quite floppy, and warm, as though it had been grilled or broiled, which rendered the lettuce leaf and tomato slice warm, limp and floppy. The previous wrap from Sunrise, and most other wraps in restaurants where I've had them, will serve an unwarmed tortilla with raw crunchy vegetables. The Sunrise previously did so - lettuce, diced tomatoes, diced red onion, shredded cheese, julienned carrots and crispy chicken in a cool creamy ranch dressing, it was a tightly wrapped, crunchy delight, and out of this world. I recommended it to anyone passing that way. The best thing I have to say about this one, is that there was plenty of chicken and it was tender. There was too much of the honey bbq sauce in it though, and the chicken wasn't crispy anymore, the breading had gone very soggy. It was a disappointment. As were the tater tots, when I had requested fries. The server was pleasant enough, and I tipped her well, but I wasn't happy with the food at all. Won't be returning anytime soon

You can smell the BBQ as you walk up. The seating is picnic tables in an outdoor setting. It makes you feel like you are eating a BBQ meal in someone's backyard. You just walk up to the order counter and pick up your food when it is ready and grab a seat. A couple from Texas started Firebrand BBQ when they moved to Seward. It was nice to find some Texas-style BBQ in this little town. The menu has a number of smoke meats like brisket, pulled pork, sausage, turkey and pork belly. Sides are the usual sides that go with BBQ like potato salad and cole slaw. I got the Sandwich Combo with Brisket and Cole Slaw for lunch. I loved my meal and enjoyed my time here with my buddies. Firebrand BBQ has some specialty items like Frito Pie and Loaded BBQ Potato on thier menu. They also serve breakfast before 11am. You can pick up a bottle of their BBQ sauce at the order counter.

This place is AWESOME!!…read more Great place to stop and grab a quick bite, but be careful; you can rack up a pretty hefty tab with a family of four. Service is quick and friendly!

Only by being distant from anywhere better, could this place possibly exist. Let's begin with the…read moresign that said, "Live music tonight," which was a lie. Then, let's talk about how the floor slopes as if you're in one of those mystery spot places that evokes a vague sense of vertigo. Now let's speak of the smell, did someone burn some cleaning solution on the grill? Now we need to talk about the food. They ran out of grilled chicken, but they were able to produce chicken parmigiana. How is this possible? After an interminable wait, the mysterious chicken parm arrived and it made 7/11 hot dogs taste like gourmet food. My partner ordered local halibut fish and chips. The cook must hate himself, people, and halibut. Somewhere under some nasty crust, may have been some halibut, but it also may have been left over sushi crab or perhaps packing peanuts. This place exists in a land of fish - how do you screw that up? Now let's talk about the scam. We were informed that they had run out of regular French fries, so they would be substituting sweet potato fries as the included side. When the bill came, we were charged $4 extra per person for the upgraded fries. I would have loved to stay and argue about this, but the world was passing us by during the time we had spent sitting there waiting for this mediocre meal. Total for crappy chicken parm, and sad pretend halibut, and a beer that got warm by the time the food arrived was $62. Anchorage is only an hour and a half farther down the road. Just drive on. Or hunt for your own food, berries and fish and whatever else you can scavenge will taste better.
