The food was decent but not cooked to order and quite slow to come out, even though the restaurant was pretty empty. We asked for a burger with cheese and a bun, nothing on it. It came out with everything, including pickles melted into the cheese. We asked for this to be fixed and they basically pulled out the pickles and returned it to us with the imprint of the pickles still in the cheese. Also my son ordered a grilled cheese from the kids menu and it was only half a sandwich with a bag of chips. Perfect for the 5 and under crowd, but not enough for a growing six year old. We had a halibut basket (a weekend special) and it was terrific. It came quickly and the staff was great. We grabbed a bag of Day old sticky buns and the counter person threw in some blueberry turnovers. We may go back again if time allows. Maybe it was the timing of going while the Mermaid Festival was happening, but I was not impressed. Around noon is when we went and the bakery display was atrocious and practically empty. We did manage to get a strawberry bear claw although that was a disappointment as well; it was dry with very little strawberry filling. Our coffee was ok. The employees seemed to be in over their heads as the stress was all over their faces and in how they treated customers- it's like we were being rushed out after only stating 1 thing we wanted; they couldn't take our whole order at one but ran for one thing at a time to and from the counter to the back. The floor and some tables were dirty out in the main lobby and on the other side of the counter leading back into the kitchen area. They really needed some more workers with such a busy weekend, but I don't think I'd ever visit again when the ice cream shop next door has better coffee and more wheelchair friendly access anyway. read more

Online the hours are listed as ending at 2pm, but they open again at 5pm for the dinner crowd. We got bagged lunches here and they were quite good - a nice basic sandwich, apple, chips, and a reallllllly good chocolate chip cookie. A touch in the expensive side at almost $14, but a good grab and go option. read more

Setup our order the day before for breakfast so would not miss our boat tour. All seemed good however the next morning it was not ready. When asked the owner was snappy and rude and took the ticket and through it to the side saying it doesn't matter. In the end we did get our order after waiting and made our tour. Bad attitude by the owner was defiantly noticed and not appreciated. Recommend you spend your dollar elsewhere. read more

Surprisingly good. Food was warm fresh and well done. I ordered the breakfast biscuit and fried egg sandwich. Breakfast burrito was so-so.

The second star is due to the fact that their food was edible, but the order took a very long time to come out to us and (we ordered 2 burgers) and when it finally came out they only brought one and said we didn't pay for the other burger. Instead of being pleasant and admitting fault, the staff were unbelievably rude to us. So if you go here get ready for sub par food at exorbitant prices complemented by rude and poor service. read more

We ordered French toast, veggie omelette and a donut. The first two turned out just ok. Donut was unbelievably bad - tasteless sugar dough. Their location is their biggest advantage - close to most of the tour departure points and the Seward railway station; that said nothing much to rave about. read more

Out of most things on the menu. Took the cashier a while to figure out what the soup was or if they had bread for sandwiches. The sandwiches are choose your meat, cheese, and condiments from a list, but apparently all turkey sandwiches come with cranberry sauce on them, even though it's not even on the list of condiments. Will never come back here again. The employees had horrible communication. The donuts were okay but ended up throwing them away. The coffee was horrible we bought two Americanos and dumped both out. Ended up leaving hungry and disappointed looking for somewhere else to go. read more

First time here, wife had a cinnamon roll and I had the breakfast burrito. Prices were fair. Cinnamon roll was a little dry but not greasy. The burrito was huge. Service was quick and friendly. Almost every seat was taken, very busy little place. Average food, good location. read more

Visited the bakery for a quick bit, but the place was jammed packed for breakfast, which is understandable. But the service was inconsistent depending on who you talk to. The first woman to take our order barely spoke English and when she was done she passed it off to a girl who was clearly in the middle of taking someone else's order to ring it up. And despite trying to get the woman to ring it up herself, she was polite and reasonable to try and meet both our needs. She finished taking their order, then rung up ours, before getting theirs, apologizing for her coworkers rudeness. And though the wait was long, which was understandable considering the amount of people crammed into the cafe, the man who dropped it off was blunt and was quick to get defensive when one of the orders was wrong. It was not until one of the local employees noticed what was going on and tried to help us, and even asked what they could do to make up for the mistake. The food was average, but there seems to be a customer service issue and they need to work on communication. The back kitchen and front counter kept yelling back and forth at each other. read more

Acceptable food but, even for Alaska, $30+ for frozen hash browns and reindeer sausage that might have actually been kielbasa is excessive. The bakery displayed looked good and the staff was very friendly. In the end though, if I'm spending that much I want to feel like I got my monies worth and I just don't. read more
