I think I've reviewed this place previously. It's always been good here. Today I want to leave a review on the customer service we received from our server, Amy. We had gone to a closer place near our home that we frequent but were so disappointed today we left. --We had waited an hour and a half after we placed our order to receive food, and still hadn't. So we left. My husband remembered Lil Bits. We've been here several times and tried it today, even though it's risky for a weekend, they are so busy and our kids were so hungry. We got there and they were fairly packed, but were able to seat us inside in the back (so thankful) and after hearing the experience we had at the first place, the server was shocked and said she'd get our order for food in quickly, and then get drinks. Everything came out in less than 10m. Our kids ate all their eggs and pancakes and bacon. Amy was attentive, kind and considerate and she saved the day. One more thing, she brought my 3 year old his milk in a to-go soda cup (instead of glass or big tall plastic, so I appreciated this) and she cut the lid a little bit and made a sippy cup. She's wonderful and we are thankful for her. We will be going here for family breakfast days instead of our old place. read more

I really had high hopes for Lil Bits in Oceano because it had all these great reviews on Yelp.... I live nearby and wanted it to be great. But it wasn't. I ordered scrambled eggs, bacon and pancakes. The eggs weren't scrambled, they came out flat like an omelette (see photo). Tasted spongy and was shaped like a flat Frisbee. The bacon had no taste other than fat. The pancakes were fair. My wife ordered the Frugal Breakfast (potatoes, poached egg and toast). The potatoes were good, the egg was hard (overcooked, the yolk was like a hard-boiled egg). The coffee I had tasted very watery. The server forgot we were at an outside table. So it all added up to a big let down. To top it all off, we waited for 15 minutes to get a table here and the wait would have been even longer had we not taken an outside table in the hot sun. On the way out there were about 30 people waiting to get in and one woman asked us if it was worth the wait. We said no. I recommended she and her husband go to Denny's up the street (at 4th near Pismo Outlets). While it doesn't sound "authentic" "mom and pop" and "home cooking" what I do know is that the Denny's there does eggs perfect, the coffee is good and the bacon is spot on. read more

Food was greasy and full of black burnt bits. Portion sizes were humongous and we wasted most of it. The coffee didn't taste that great either. Service was fast and they refilled my coffee on time, although, to be honest, I wasn't really craving any more of it. We ordered the Momlette and a Joe's sandwich. The omlette looked mutilated - it was actually a scramble I guess? It tasted ok. But the potatoes on the side were burnt. Yes this place is small and tucked away in a corner but good food will find customers. We went after reading the reviews and it did not disappoint. We both had the basic 3 egg breakfast and eggs. Eggs were to perfection over easy. Not too done and not raw. Toast is so good. bacon fantastic and the country potatoes are to die for. Fast friendly service at a fair price. I ordered take out, a bacon and mushroom omelette with avocado, and sourdough toast. Picked up the order and the toast was not in the bag. My husband did not get his toast either. My omelette was over cooked, there were about 3 tiny pieces of mushroom. My potatoes (home fries) were literally burnt to a crisp. I probably got 3 decent pieces. Well, once again we had the opportunity to spend a few days in Grover Beach. Our first morning, we headed to Lil Bits. We were very kindly greeted by Kira, the owners daughter, and seated promptly. Our drinks were ordered and on the table within a couple minutes. We both ordered the double cheeseburger with fries. Excellent! The fries were perfect and the burger was juicy and tasty. The next morning, we had breakfast with Kira. I had three eggs, home fries and bacon with a biscuit and husband had the bacon and mushroom omelet with home fries and one pancake. Again, excellent. My only regret is I should have ordered extra home fries This morning, I ordered a half order of biscuits and gravy and the California Chicken sandwich. Husband ordered the western bacon burger and fries. Once again, nothing ruined our streak of tastebud happiness. However, I was too full after the biscuit and gravy to eat my sandwich so it's refrigerated until tomorrow. I have been reading the reviews and see complaints about the food and decor. Look, this place is a cute little hole in the wall, a little slice of Americana, just like a country grandmas kitchen. It's not the Four Seasons. It is country cooking, country ambiance. No two coffee cups match, therefore, we all fit in. If it's not your cup of tea, that's fine. If you are going to be so shortsighted as to say you get better food at Denny's, well. I hereby revoke your "Reliable Yelper" badge and wouldn't trust ANYTHING you review. To the staff at Lil Bits.... just like the Terminator says, "WE'LL BE BACK." Thank you! read more

The service here sucks. They leave you waiting for a long time. They are not very friendly either. They don't smile when they come to your table. If you ask for more time, they roll their eyes. I don't usually complain but this was the most terrible breakfast I have ever had. I ordered your basic pancakes, eggs and bacon. The bacon was limp, chewy, flavorless and cold. Pancakes were not edible. The batter had been overworked and they were rubbery. Lastly the eggs tasted like eggbeaters poured out of a carton. I told my server and she apologized but didn't remove my barely touched dish from the bill or even reduce the cost. Unreal, don't know all the hype. read more

Came here on a Sunday, it was pretty busy but we were seated fairly quickly. The special was the champion. And open faced chicken fried steak and gravel eggs and potatoes sandwich. The food here is less than mediocre and its rather expensive. It should be illegal to call the bread they brought to the table toast as it was probably "toasted" for about 3 seconds. The coffee was so watery it didn't taste like anything, and I had to ask to get a refill. It was a windy day so we asked to sit inside, which was a huge mistake. They seated us in a dirty little back room which was also extremely noisy. Don't waste your money. There are so many good breakfast places around here, and this isn't one of them. read more

All the years I have been going here for breakfast has always been satisfying. My favorite is ranch chicken fried steak breakfast that is loaded of great biscuits potatoes scramble eggs topped with gravy and great part is I don't need knife for steak as it's easily cut with fork. Tiny little restaurant that the name explains it but wow what a breakfast! We avoided the wait by eating at the bar. The Fireman ordered bacon and eggs and I ordered the chicken fried steak. Well, if you're looking for an outstanding breakfast, served promptly, and made by people who really know how to cook, then this is your place. Doesn't look like much from the outside, and definitely casual decor inside, but don't be fooled.
