Amazing Italian in the North End Great meal! All of the food was amazing, service was great and they had a nice wine list. They were definitely firing on all cylinders. Beautiful space. Will be back.

I came here for a work dinner with a party of 20, and I'm honestly shocked at how smoothly everything went. They sat us quickly, handled the whole group with ease, and the service was absolutely top notch attentive, friendly, and impressively organized for such a large table. We basically ordered one of everything on the menu, and the food was phenomenal across the board. The pasta dishes were the clear standouts, perfectly cooked and insanely flavorful. But the showstopper was the pumpkin chicken risotto. It came inside an actual roasted pumpkin and it was unforgettable creamy, rich, and just such a cool presentation. The cocktails were just as good. I loved the espresso martini and the Aperol spritz both perfectly balanced and easy to reorder. If you need a place that can handle a big group without sacrificing food or service quality, this is the spot. I'd come back in a heartbeat.

Food was at least a 8/10!! The pasta dishes were absolutely amazing, however when it came to the pizza, it was not up to Dave standards in our opinion, good, but not Boston quality good. Service was great we made a reservation for a Wednesday night and got sat right away. The one down side was the server underestimated the portion sizing which left us with some extra food we didn't need. The atmosphere was great, all the staff was so kind and attentive. A must try in Boston!

Wow! One of the best Italian meals I've ever had and definitely the best carbonara I've ever had. My group split a few entrees family style. We do wish there was a mussels meunière on the menu. For dessert we had the donuts and tiramisu and I was surprised how much I liked the donuts. The server was wonderful and patient.

The food here is amazing. We started off with the antipasto which was fresh and rather light. The ingredients were super fresh. For our meals we got the chicken piccata and the veal Parmesan. Both were excellent. Portions were big and the food was incredibly tasty. I would definitely recommend trying out Tresca's in the North End!!

Exceptional authentic Italian food with a truly family feel environment. We arrived even without a reservation but the owner graciously invited us in and gave us a window seat to help celebrate my son's birthday. That kind of hospitality is something worth mentioning because he showed how much family is valued. We started with the Chicken Parm Egg rolls, Caesar Salad, and Calamari. All were delicious. The Chicken Parmigiana over angel hair pasta with vodka sauce was amazing and I loved my Chianti wine. I tried some of my husband's Chicken Pollo Bella Bocca and the fresh ingredients really made the dish super yummy. They concluded with bringing out a birthday surprise for my son completing a wonderful night. With so many choices at the North End Tresca has it all...a beautiful restaurant, excellent food, and a staff who treats you like family.

Came here for Valentine's Day. We checked in, our coats were taken and immediately seated which was nice since we had spent the day flying in. We had their stuffed meatballs, lobster ravioli and veal chops Tuscan style. All was delicious! Especially the veal.

Tresca is a beautiful two-floor restaurant with a bar. As soon as we walked in, we were greeted and seated right away. The service throughout the entire experience was top-tier I never once had to ask for a refill because the staff was always attentive and on point. Our food arrived incredibly fast, within about 5-10 minutes of ordering, which is the quickest I've ever been served at a restaurant. I ordered the Rigatoni Affumicata. While it wasn't bad, it did seem a bit dry, possibly because it came out so quickly it felt like it may have been sitting for a short time before being served. Overall, it was a okay experience with excellent service, and I would say it's definitely worth trying out. My real rating is 3.5/5 but it only allows for full stars

    Awesome meatball appetizer. Order this!

Great Italian food like your Nonna makes! Nice atmosphere and service. Great view of Hanover St from the upstairs! We recommend this place!

For the final meal of our 9-day anniversary trip around Maine and Boston, we chose to make a reservation at Tresca. We perused reviews of several different Little Italy restaurants before doing so, and were very pleased with our experience. Every staff member with whom we interacted was pleasant and attentive, though Katherine was our main server. We shared a bottle of Chianti Ruffina - delightful. On Katherine's recommendation, we enjoyed the stuffed meatballs, a great way to start off. My wife had the black truffle gnocci, while I had the lobster ravioli, and we shared some with each other. Both were well-prepared and filling. We did save room for a lemontini (her) and espresso (me) to go with our dessert of Italian donuts. The only slight knock on our experience is that the seating was quite tight, which took away from the intimacy of the experience of dining together. Overall, I'd highly recommend checking out Tresca for Italian fine dining in Boston.

Walking around Hanover to see where to have dinner. Tresca is one of the first Italian restaurant you see and had well rated Yelp ratings. Upon entering, hostess showed me to a high top and got seated quickly. Tresca has the standard menu and a daily specials menu. From the daily specials menu, ordered the Seafood Fra Diavolo. It was huge and could be shared if you aren't too hungry. It came with half a tail, clams, mussels, squid, shrimps and couple of big scallops. Underneath, there is the angel hair pasta. The broth was superb. The dish itself was pretty big and could be shared it it was so good that I finished everything! They had other specials like lasagna that I would love to try. The place is kinda dark and have TVs over the bar and watched NFL Thursday game while waiting. Staff was friendly, always kept my glass full and drop by from time to time to check. Will plan to visit again to try their other specials in the future.

Had a dinner date here and was sat at the most lovely table in front of a window looking out towards the city. The owner greeted us upon coming in and is a very passionate kind guy. The service was very notable. Even though every table and chair was full, there was never a point where we were forgotten about. The servers cared very much about the guests and a table next to me got a special replacement for a salad since she really didn't like the one she ordered. The cocktails were very delicious and well balanced. Would go here again many times.

My Aunt heard that Swayman (Bruins goalie) loved this place so I made reservations last month. We went tonight at 5pm. They send a text when your table is ready so I liked seeing that on the drive there. They have a coat check which is great in Winter so I appreciated that. We were taken to our table with no wait. The inside is low level light and very cozy without being stuffy. I would say it's nice and relaxed, but would be a great date spot too! From the start, the waitstaff were great and were very responsive without hovering. Honestly, it was great to have a meal that wasn't rushed and was well-paced. The bread that comes out is yummy but I needed more for sure. It's an extra $5 per basket which isn't terrible. I got chicken Parmesan and my aunt got the #1 so chicken Parmesan with vodka sauce. She also got a glass of wine & I had Diet Coke. She ate a good amount and loved hers. I will rave about mine. The chicken was so tender and the breading stuck very well and wasn't oily. The pasta was cooked perfectly and it was sauced well too. Afterwards, I got the lava cake after and ate most of it - it was lovely and disappeared pretty fast. I feel also that Tresca is really well-priced for how good everything was - Our bill was $113 for extra bread, 2 entrees, lava cake, a glass of wine, Diet Coke, and a bottle of still water. I will absolutely be back the next time I'm in Boston.

Our waiter was friendly and nice, though the service did feel a little rushed at times. That said, the food was absolutely delicious. We started with the calamari to share, and it was beautifully prepared -- crispy, fresh, and not overly heavy. For my entree, I ordered the seafood pasta and really loved it. The menu refers to these as "Greek cheese bread" but somehow that doesn't do it justice - these were immensely pillowy and cheesy, with an amazing crust, with homemade honey butter on the side. I could have had just these for dinner and been satisfied. They really nailed the bread. My other favorites: 1. Hipiti: spicy whipped feta with crispy potatoes on the side. I don't do well with spice but I absolutely loved this. 2. Marouli: winter lettuce with the most amazing vinaigrette dressing. My only knock to this is, presentation-wise, they serve it with half of the plate empty and the other half with salad. I don't understand why restaurants do this because - one, it only highlights the smaller portion and two, we're just going to mix the salad all around in the bowl anyway. 3. Boudeto: daily catch in a beautiful tomato broth. For a seafood dish at a restaurant in Back Bay, this was priced at a fairly reasonable $28. The only dish that fell a little flat for me was the tzatziki - needed a bit more seasoning. As it was, I was eating mostly just plain yogurt. The table-side preparation was cool, though. The space is its own visual dinner, there's simply a lot to look at (including a drawing of Poseidon riding a surf board). We got the big table in the back, which was a beautiful glass structure with a whole terrarium underneath. We couldn't stop marveling at it throughout the meal. Our waiter was wonderful - very helpful recommendations, came by to check on us often even though we were pretty far in the back, super patient with our questions. Hard to get reservations but worth it! Don't bother driving / trying to find parking unless you're willing to eat a hefty garage fee, it's Back Bay.

The bread had large air pockets, visibly soft, with a rich aroma of salt and milk; the olive oil was smooth and mellow, with a full-bodied fragrance, and the aftertaste even included a subtle, restrained hint of tea. Even knowing it's a calorie bomb, I couldn't resist dipping it in more. Baccala Mantecato: Classic Venetian flavor. The salted cod was tender and delicate, almost like a light foam, somewhere between raw silk and mousse; the dark bread was simple yet not coarse, perfectly balancing the saltiness of the cod. The most surprising thing was the refreshing aroma of celery leaves that emerged in the aftertaste, lingering and persistent. Lumache: When looking at the menu, seeing "chili butter, Jonah crab, breadcrumb," I never expected such a distinct citric acidity. The subtle acidity was gently enveloped in the fatty aroma of chili butter, perfectly complementing the umami and sweetness of the crab meat with just the right amount of spiciness. The lumache were firm and chewy, the sauce rich and smooth, and the breadcrumbs light and crisp, creating a rich and distinct texture. The portion was generous; even after microwaved the next day, the sauce had naturally broken down and the lemon's tartness had dissipated, but the noodles mixed with chili oil still had a unique flavor. Tiramisu: Highly renowned, and the staff were quite confident. The surface was covered with a thick layer of crispy cocoa nibs, the cake itself is incredibly soft and moist, and digging inside reveals an "underground river" of coffee liquid, while its bitterness was perfectly balanced by the sweet Marsala. The overall flavor was sweet and mellow, less bitter than typical tiramisu, with more layers of complexity. Actually, I was hoping for a slightly bitter version. Even on a weekday, it was packed with customers; by 5:10 PM, only one bar seat was left. Reservations are highly recommended. The service is so friendly and seamless which in itself makes for a lovely evening. Highlights were the mussels, which were very fresh and delicious. The service here was attentive with the waiters offering more bread for the mussels. Most dishes are a little spicy, so if you don't like spice, make sure to note that with the waiter. The miso gelato is one of the most delicious savory/sweet desserts, and has lots of nice crunchy accents of the sesame crumble. Cocktails are fabulous, very smooth, as well as the mocktails. Cons: The crostini was nothing really special, and one of them came without the oyster butter. The meatballs, which were tasty but had a slightly hard texture on the outside. The prawn risotto was pretty one-note in flavor, and the prawn heads tasted overcooked and slightly off. The radiatore was spicy and nicely plated. The Cremoso al Cioccolato had a strange flavor profile that didn't quite fit, and had such a large salted chocolate-truffle section that we did not finish it (which is saying something)! Overall, if you are looking for a solid dinner in Boston that will guarantee be a nice experience because of the atmosphere, this is a good place.

Salty Pig Pizza: A pizza with the same name as the restaurant! Who was the genius who came up with the idea of salted pig and beer caramel? It's brilliant! The salted pork appears to include Prosciutto di Parma from Langirano, Prosciutto Cotto, and Salcissia. Baking rendered the prosciutto's fat, which blends with the caramel to create a beautiful golden syrup that flows across the pizza's surface. The prosciutto was savory, oily, and tender; the minced salcissia retains its coarse texture and rich meaty aroma; the caramel was sweet and mellow with a honey-like sweetness, forming the top, middle, and base notes respectively. The arugula was slightly warmed, losing its astringent and raw taste while maintaining its crisp texture, helped to cut through the richness together with the Parmesan cheese powder. The crust was crispy, while the inside the dough was soft and chewy. The cooking time and seasoning were all just right, and the restaurant's proud wooden oven added a charming smoky flavor. Affogato: I had high expectations, but it was just okay. The espresso was too sour, and the vanilla ice cream couldn't balance it out. The caesar salad was also great. The calamari were okay, but nothing special and they he focaccia was tasty, but I wish it was a little softer. For my entree I ordered the cacio e pepe gnocchi, which was also just okay in my opinion. I was looking for a bolder flavor, but unfortunately I didn't get that.
