Excellent noodles! I'm a huge noodle fan, and i especially love street noodles. Lily's does not disappoint! I tried the chicken stir fry noodles. I loved that the chicken and veggies were cut up very small...much smaller than anywhere else I've tried. The noodles are wide and perfectly chewy. The flavors are complex...ginger, soy, scallions, and they are stirring them up, made to order...so fresh. The sauce is slightly sweet. You can also add things yourself such as mild or hot chili crisp, or ginger soy sauce. I added a little mild chili and a little ginger soy. It was so good. I was feeling a bit bad for her since the orders are flowing and she is the only one working. Glad I finally got to have her food. We ordered the mini chicken dumplings, scallion pancakes and chicken stir fry (available in either noodles or rice). She also had a few options for sauce: soy ginger, mild chili oil and spicy chili oil. We spent $52 including tax. It's a food cart so though there are picnic tables, expect limited seating. Wow - What a little surprise! Okay, first off, why aren't mini dumplings more of a thing? Seriously a cup full of those little guys really hits the spot! (So do the scallion pancakes!) It's impressive to watch this mother/daughter duo crank through orders on a few different burners on the carts. The homemade sauces are all delicious and the hot chili oil reminds me of Hang Ah Tea Parlor in San Francisco. Look, there a bunch of overpriced lobster rolls and blueberry infused items in the area. We have been raving about this place for years.We didn't know it had a name until today. The fried rice is a huge portion, the gluten-free dumplings are exceptionally well seasoned with vegan stuffing and the ginger scallion soy sauce is a perfect topping. Lily is extremely friendly and serves the food fast. What more can we say about Lily's food? She seems to have quite a few regulars coming to see if she was still open. Lily's food cart was a highlight of our quick stop in Freeport on a chilly October evening. I saw the busy cart across from the L.L. Bean store and had to try it. The woman who runs this small food cart (which I assume her name is Lily), works her a$s off. She only offers a few menu items but they are all delicious. Mini dumplings and lo mein noodles are fabulous. There's usually a bit of a line and it does take a bit of time to get your order but in my opinion, it's well worth it. Lily's Food Cart was such a fun find! We were looking for something hot and delicious on a cool autumn day and we came upon the big signs for noodles, dumplings and rice. The woks were steaming and everything smelled so good. We order the chicken fried rice, chicken noodles and a cup full of mini dumplings. She asked if we wanted our rice and noodles spicy, which we did, and she whipped everything up in front of us. The dumplings come with the option of having a soy ginger sauce and chili oil drizzled over them. Delicious! Can't wait to go back next time we visit the area! Best food I've had in a while, and I'm extremely picky about what qualifies as "good" food. 4 of us ate 7 servings of mini dumplings. They are the perfect size to eat easily at a picnic bench and the sauce, homemade by the chef (Lily?), is absolutely the best ever. We then ate 3 orders of chicken noodles even though we were totally full from the dumplings because the noodles were too good to pass up. Good quality chicken too (my kids hate it when chicken is mostly gristle). Noodles were also top quality absolutely delicious. Chef and her assistant (maybe her daughter) were super nice and helpful. I will drive the 2 hours from Boston to have lunch here again before school starts. Strongly recommend you eat here when in Freeport and avoid the dime a dozen fried seafood places. read more
