Good pedicures that will cost you 3 hours of time and Terrible staff! Was overcharging me $5-$7 dollars for 3 months. Claimed I put that as tip when I did not. I was under the impression that gel pedicures were $55. It wasn't until one day I was checking out and saw their menu and gel pedicures are $48... when questioned about this they blamed it on me giving them a tip. I thought maybe this is an honest mistake and came back again 3 weeks later. I called 3 hours prior to get pricing for gel mani pedi and was told $80 so I booked my appointment for that same day. My appointment was at 5:30 and they got me seated in a chair and had my feet in the water. It was almost 6 and my feet were still in the tub. This was going to be my first time getting a gel manicure here. I asked one of the ladies how much regular pedicure and gel manicure was and before she could begin talking to me. Another staff member said regular pedi gel manicure was $65 and gel manicure medi was $85. This was $5 on top of what they told me hours ago. On top of that she pointed out the gel on my toes and told me that's extra $10 to remove. So again they are trying to over charge me. This time it's $15. I explained that I've been coming here for months. I've never paid removal because it's always done there. I have referred 3 people to this salon and they also have never been charged a removal fee and will not be using this business as they are changing prices as they feel. read more

I hate to discredit a local Santa Monica company but I got my nails filled on a Sunday afternoon and two hours and a bleeding thumb later I had they most thin and flimsy nails ever. She only put one layer of powder over my nails. Of course come Monday I had a broken nail, so I went back to have them repair, which they did. But the repair took an hour and my manicurist didn't even make the nail the same shape and the gel was coming over my nail bed onto my skin (picture). Come Tuesday 2 more nails broke! I went back to ask for my money back and they refused. Said it was my fault and that I asked for a "natural nail" natural or not it should break a day or two later. By the way I never asked for a natural nail, I just asked for a fill with gel. The manager said she would call her boss and to come back tomorrow. I asked her to call her boss right then and there and her response "I don't have his number." My jaw hit the floor! You said you would call him but you don't have his number! Poor, awful customer service. Why would I want this place to fix the broken nails when all of them are going to break this week?! I would give this place negative stars if it was possible. My friend was having eyelash extensions put on at a place two doors down so I opted for a mani pedi rather than waiting. The salon is clean, organized, and efficient. I was late for to traffic and when I called it went to voicemail. I left a message but didn't receive a return call... But it wasn't an issue as they took me right when I arrived. I added on the sea salt scrub for my feet and it was the best decision! It started with a slice of fresh orange being rubbed on my feet and calves, followed with a sea salt scrub mixture and a ten minute run down. After that, she did the traditional lotion massage. My feet are soooo soft! I wanted something a bit different for Valentines Day and they were very accommodating. The polish application was flawless ... I'm super picky and they did a great job with it. The total price was $71. The mani pedi was $55, and included gel on my hands. There was a $10 charge for the sea salt scrub and it was $6 for the special polish requests. I think it was a fair price considering I was there for almost 2 hours. Give them a try... read more

The nail professional took such care in her work--and for such a reasonable price ($55 for a pedi, gel removal, and gel mani), you don't always get someone detail-oriented. That is not the case here. The people who work here never had coloring books as children. If they had, they would know that when you color, you want to stay within the lines. Not only are the mani-petis a total disaster but the women are assholes about it. For example, I have major hammer-time on my feet, Jackson Pollock style, and they huff and puff about fixing it! Like I can possibly go anywhere in public with nails that look like my 3 year old cousin decided to play beauty salon. And this is not the first time its happened here. Great service. They take their time with each costumer so that when you leave, you leave with satisfaction. The atmosphere is relaxing, whenever i go here, i don't feel like im being rushed out like other nail salons. They have a wide range of brand name colors like OPI, ESSIE & China Glaze. My polish on my hands usually last for two weeks & my toes usually last for 3 weeks or more !! If you don't like to wait, just call an hour ahead & they'll be able to take you right away. I would say this nail salon is more of a 3.5, but since the ladies there are all nice and make the ambience inviting, they get the 4 stars. I have been here on two occassions, (1 for gel manicure, 1 for pedicure). I walk here from my apartment so I don't have a comment about parking. I came around 1-2pm with no wait. So it has been 4 weeks since I had the gel manicure, I waited to see results. I would say I have had much better gel manicures. Their gel is not a thick layer that really creates a strong nail. After 2 weeks it started to chip at the bottom on the nail which is one of the most annoying thing ever (getting your hair strands stuck under the gel every time you put your fingers through your hair, and girls do that, all day). And by now, it is chipping from the end and top. I would rather drive 15 minutes away to my go to salon where I used to live, than walk here. read more

I have been getting my nails done regularly here for about 5 months now, and I have had a great experience every time. I used to go to a fancy shmancy nail place near Cedars Sinai, but I didn't feel like making the drive anymore, so I decided to give this place a try. Lily's nails doesn't have all of the frills, bells, and whistles, but what you will get is a really nice manicure that lasts a long time. I am now going every 4 weeks to get my gels redone, whereas I used to have to redo them every 2.5 or 3. On top of that, you really can't beat their color section. I mean, this place has a TON of colors to choose from! I have also gotten a pedicure there too, and it still looks good after more than a month. Lastly, I have never had to make an appointment here, which is really nice. They are always available to take walk-ins. :) Friendly staff, lovely color selection, and quality work. I have been to this shop before and had an ok experience. This time, however, that was not the case. I had an appointment at 4. When I showed up there were four other people waiting with 4 o'clock appointments. There are only 5 or 6 spa chairs in this place. I get people run behind but I was put in a chair at 4:30. The others around the same time and one after me. If that were the only issue that wouldn't be that bad; however, I've never had my nails painted so badly ever. She had to keep doing ones over. I had originally requested a simple design on two fingers. They didn't match at all and were so badly done, I had to ask her to remove them. I do not have gel or acrylic nails. I finally left the salon at almost 6:00 with barely any drying time. When I got home, my boyfriend asked if I was just going to take it off because he could tell it was bad. read more

I'm thrilled to say I've FINALLY found my go to salon for beautiful acrylic nails in Santa Monica. Gina is the manager of Lily's and she worked magic on my poor hands today and now I have the nails of a princess once again ! I booked a fill ($25) but my nails were severly grown out .Gina took one look and suggested why not put on a new set... I just knew I could trust her to do what needed to be done. I said yes. She is definitely a superb nail artist. I like the shape of my nails to be a combination of square and oval and she understood just how to make me happy. Also, no constant upselling, I hate that. In all I paid $40.00 to have old nails removed (painless by the way, she's very good) and a new set of acrylic. I would not recommend this place. I've been several times now as I live down the street and try to support local business, but every time is worse than the last. They ladies who work here are rude. They always push gel or the OPI Shine and give you attitude if you say you just want regular polish. I've witnessed them fight with customers several times, one time in particular when they put gel on a 13 year old girls nails despite her mom saying absolutely not. They then charged the mom full price for the gel. The technicians are also extremely rough on cuticles and tend to pull at them. Despite all of this, I gave them another shot last night for my birthday nails. She made me bleed, then proceeded to do the worst manicure of my life, and charged me $2.00 on top of the $18 because I paid with card (as I have every other time with no charge in the past). On top of it, two of the ladies who work there were clearly fighting a cold and were openly coughing up a storm with no mask. Needless to say, I will not be back. read more

Been coming to this salon for a few years now. Service is pretty efficient and staff are friendly. I get both gel and regular polish manicures and both really are well done and last for longer than expected (I'm the type to chip a nail a day after the normal polish manicure so any work that lasts longer than a week is amazing for me. Gels last two to three weeks and I usually change them only because of nail growth. Pedicures are always done well, with extra care to the feet (massage, callous removal, etc...). Color selection for both gel and normal polish is always on trend but they keep several fresh bottles of the classic colors available when you are in a neutral state of mind. Brought my little girl in recently and they took time making sure she had a good experience. She's definitely ready to go back.
