Amazing! Got the full chicken takeout for a last minute valentines dinner & ordered the Chifa vegetables as a side plus jasmine rice. The veggies weren't zucchini like they're listed on Yelp, but green beans instead. The veggies were so addicting, the soy glaze on them was so delicious and a huge portion as well. Also ordered all three of the sauces, the signature, the hot sauce and the chimichurri. Signature sauce is unbeatable and so unique, the others were good as well - all three combined with the chicken and rice is an explosion of flavor fr. Lastly, got the mango dessert.. WOW. My first Peruvian restaurant! Great spot for a date with great Peruvian food liked the glass floor to ceiling glass windows surrounding the restaurant, giving us a good view of Oakland (which isn't a perfect city, but not the restaurant's fault). We came in early for dinner, and the service was very attentive and fast. My date was Peruvian, so on her recommendation, we ordered ceviche for the table and then lomo saltado for our entrees. The portions were very generous. I normally don't like seafood, so imagine my surprise when I discovered that ceviche was made of squid! It was actually quite good though. Maybe I should give seafood another chance? The lomo saltado fries were excellent. The steak, while juicy and tender, was a little salty for my taste, but my date just laughed at me and told me that's how it's supposed to be. The price was very reasonable for the portions and quality. Would certainly recommend, but next time I'll pass on the ceviche. read more

My second time eating this food; First found them through a food delivery app. Eating inside was very chill and nicely spaced out for COVID safety. The noise level was also quiet so I could enjoy a conversation with my party sitting across from me. I'm equally impressed by the new dishes I've tried as the first impression I got. The unique smoky flavor in almost every dish is a wonderful surprise. The Chifa Vegetables is a must-try and La Chiclayana is a seafood masterpiece. You want Peruvian in the Bay you say... i have the perfect place for you. This local haunt was buzzing the Friday night i was there. I like my Peruvian restaurants plenty busy.... The menu is dense and offers a variety of great authentic dishes along with an impressive drink menu. I did notice the wine by the glass section was a tad sub-par given the proximity to Napa so i stuck to a fine Peruvian lager which was cold and tasty. Came here one night bc we wanted to try something new. It was ok for me, nothing too amazing. We had the fried platter, lomo saltado, ceviche with catch of the day (sea bass), and a couple drinks. So the drinks- amaze. Loved it. Compliments to the chef. The food was ok. The empanadas didn't wow me, the beef was a little mushy. Wasn't too crispy. The Yuma fries were fine, but you literally only get 4 single fries with the platter, that's it. The chicken it came with was good, and the plantains were also good. The lomo was good, but I really think it's more of a lunch thing not dinner. And the ceviche was too tough and extremely fishy for me personally. We came here on a Friday night and it was very busy but luckily we got a spot at the bar. We started off with the veggie empanadas. They were packed with flavor and was a favorite of the night. Kale salad was pretty standard and fresh. The quarter chicken was moist and tender. The arroz con mariscos was my absolute favorite. It was saucy, had a tolerable spice, wasn't too salty and the rice was perfect. Not pictured but we also got the saltado de pollo. I really liked the sauce in it and the chicken was juicy and tender. We finished it off with a tres leches cake. The whipped cream was light but the cake itself was just okay. Still worth a try if you like tres leches. Overall a great place for dinner. Next time I'll be sure to make a reservation. read more

We got takeout from Limon and will order again some day. There were 3 items missing from our order, but it was a busy Saturday night so it's understandable. Things we would order again: Chicken empanada -- my husband loved it, an order of empanadas is a nice small accompaniment to main course Chicken - dark meat was delicious, we got a whole one cut in 4, very flavorful but not spicy I loved the sweet potato fries, perfectly cooked to be moist but still carmelized Truffle mac and cheese was very rich and creamy, my husband really enjoyed the mushroom taste, I thought it was not quite cheesy enough Chifa vegetables - the description said zucchini but we got green beans, which made us happy. Overall my girlfriend and I enjoyed this place with some close friends. I would say the restaurant is medium sized and intimate with good service and even better food! I've been here more than once and I've enjoyed various dishes; all of them have been tasty. The sangria and cocktails in general are great as well! Finally tried Limon via DoorDash Pros: good food Cons: staff often makes mistakes on the pick up/delivery orders that I've had at least although the manager is nice. The empanadas were quite oily, but they are delicious. Ordered a variety of chicken dishes over the last few weeks portions are good sized, it's actual real chicken and if you heat it up for 15 minutes or so it just falls off the bone because it's so succulent and tender. Portion sizes could be a tad bigger but the food at this joint really is good ! read more
