Very nice new hotel in the Mammoth Village area. Rooms are spacious and clean. Staff is friendly and welcoming. A good Breakfast buffet is included. Hotel has a large modern social space near the lobby.

    Broken showehead

I stayed up at the limelight during the past snow storm. Our room was $1600 a night (for basically 2 suites), we were there for a week. 3 families, none would stay there again. For the price, Id say I get to be picky...this wasn't a mid range hotel or a place to crash for skiing. The hotel was understaffed even though they knew it'd be fully booked (it's been open since December, months ago). The hotel restraunt, which is just tables in the lobby, stops taking taking reservations within 10min of opening, but half the tables are empty. They only had 2-3 servers the first night, and every night after; we were there 5 days. The first night people were getting sick off the coffee too (multiple people in our party and in the lobby). Easily half the people I talked to said it was their first day. And multiple made jokes about being afraid of the chef and how he'd close early. Haha that's funny...but the 4th time in 48 hrs someone says it, it's weird. And then room service (5-10pm) would be cancelled, or stop at 8pm. This is supposed to be a family oriented luxury hotel. You need to have food for kids available, especially during bad weather. One night the manager helped us out and got food from the kitchen for our family. The dinner was essentially out the window, totally unrealiable if you could get any. Also, the food was not that good (especially the breakfast). I get it, it's hotel food, in Mammoth. But for that price , it was the same food as any other hotel 2-3 tiers down. For luxury hotels, you get a full breakfast and dinner menu, multiple restraunts etc...we had pizza/burger/salad or egg/pancake/sausage and make your own oatmeal level food. Our room wasn't housekept 3 of the 5 days. No one provided sheets or bedding for the pull out bed for the kids for over 4 hours. I ended up just using the sheets/throw blanket from the adults beds. If housekeeping came , they did not refill towel on the ground, bath soap, or missing toilet paper roll. If you stayed here for 3 nights you'd be out $5000 dollars The TVs did not work. No Olympics, and the streaming channels also would freeze eg no disney. I was told it was a "hotel wide issue". We had 2 of 4 faucets handles break, one bath spout was a sink spout so you couldnt fill the bath in any reasonable way, and the shower wand in the other bath broke. Our bathroom hadn't been fully housekept, all the soap was empty. There's 4 kids plus adults, we go through soap. They don't refill it. We had a dirty cup in our room. Not like a spot, but weird brown goo on the bottom. There is nowhere to buy little amenities like toothpaste, advil etc The coffee and tea station was cleaned up after about 8pm. It's a snow storm, I put the kids to bed, I'd like tea. Nope. For this price hotels usually have evening snacks and 24/7 tea and coffee. For a luxury hotel, we were on our own for anything we needed. Ended up just walking to get food during the snowstorm most of the time as it want possible to reliably get food for kids. Plus the menu very small (again, for a high end hotel). The ATM is not an atm, it's converts cash to prepaid cards (why the heck would I want to do that). The entire hotel is cashless. Need money to tip valet or Ski instructors? Nope they can't help you. The ADA wheelchair door also didn't work, If you need that. The pool is technically heated...to 72 degrees. I get it's expensive to heat the pool, but just close it or don't have one if you can't afford to heat it properly for a ski lodge. I don't want to go to a tepid pool in the snow. Hotels in this price range in ski area have outdoor pools in the high &0s, so it feels good to get in. Not cool water. The valet guys and snow shovel team were great Yep, my post may sound whiny and I sound like a entitled. But this isn't motel 6. For the same price, I could stay in a luxury resort at any other mountain. Or rent an entire very nice home in mammoth. Or buy ski gear for every single person in my family *and* stay in budget place. This hotel is more than the Montage, more than Fairmont Gold, probably more than the St Regis my wife stayed at and it was the same as staying at $400 a night hotel. No ameneities, no luxuries, not even basic reliable services like food and housekeeping. Basically the hotel is a giant rip off. There is *no* reason to stay here. This is not to disparage the people who work there and *were* there. They cared and did their best. It's the people who *werent* there...admin, management...who can't staff a hotel properly, set up room service/housekeeping, have basic stuff for luxury visitors (chapstick? ATM/cash? Food? A bottle of soda? Refill toilet paper?) and have no interest in a luxury hotel. I'd never stay at a limelight *anywhere*. It's dollar for dollar the worst hotel I've ever visited. I emailed them after my terrible experience and they never even responded

We booked the Limelight Hotel Mammoth because it's the newest hotel in Mammoth. We usually stay at The Westin, but wanted to try something new. Because it's brand new, I would say it is currently the nicest hotel in Mammoth--though that of course comes at a premium. That said, it is not a 5-star, full-service hotel. There is no room service and no spa. I would describe it as a step up from a Marriott Courtyard: modern, clean, stylish, but not ultra-luxury. Mammoth overall has mostly dated apartments, condos, and houses near the ski resort, so Limelight definitely stands out. Valet parking is $35/day with in-and-out privileges. The hotel also offers complimentary rides (first come, first serve) in Ford Expeditions to restaurants and around town. They've partnered with Audi as well and have a few vehicles onsite that guests can borrow for up to two hours, with suggested scenic routes if you want to explore the area. We were there for a 3-day holiday ski weekend. There were three of us, and we booked the Limelight Suite (504 sq ft) instead of the Deluxe Queen Room (410 sq ft). The Limelight Suite was about $5,000 for three nights, but remind you this was during a holiday weekend. The Limelight Suite features a king bedroom and a spacious open-concept living area with a sleeper sofa, dining table, microwave, Lavazza coffee machine and SMEG fridge. Our room had a private balcony with amazing views. The bathroom included both a walk-in shower and a separate tub in a glassed in area. Storage was well thought out, with a dresser and hanging space. There were two 55-inch TVs, though oddly, when you turned one on in the bedroom, both TVs would turn on despite the separation wall. Breakfast is included and starts at 7am. The buffet offered cold cereals, oatmeal, fruit, pastries, toast/bagels, eggs, potatoes, bacon, sausage, and more. In the breakfast area there was tea, drip coffee, and two fully automatic Lavazza machines--there was usually a line for those. They did offer to-go cups so you could make a latte or cappuccino and bring it back to your room. Breakfast was fine, but not amazing. One day, friends who woke up later found that some items had run out. We didn't have that issue since we were up early to get to the ski resort when it opened. The hotel has a concierge, as well as a pool and hot tub. One downside is that to access the pool and hot tub from the room elevators, you have to walk past the bar and lobby seating areas. Most people do this in robes, which can feel a little awkward when others are dressed up for drinks or a night out. The lobby itself is very open and has multiple seating areas. On Saturday night there was a DJ, and the lobby was packed--it was really lively and crowded. This may have been amplified by the holiday weekend, but it did feel busy. There were also a lot of families staying at the hotel since school was out. Location-wise, Limelight is excellent. It's directly next door to The Westin and directly across the street from The Village and the Village Gondola. Limelight also has a ski valet room where you can store skis and boots (boots must be in a bag). You put your boots on there and grab your skis before heading out, though there is still a bit of walking involved to reach the gondola. From the Limelight, while carrying your skis and wearing ski boots, you have to walk down a long set of stairs, cross the street, then go up another set of stairs to reach the Village Gondola. The Village Gondola then takes you to Canyon Lodge, where the lifts are located. This is where the difference between Limelight and The Westin next door becomes noticeable. At The Westin, the ski valet is located directly under the Village Gondola, which allows you to walk from the hotel in regular shoes, go down the stairs, cross the street, put your boots on at the valet, and then carry your skis up to the gondola. When you return, you can drop everything right there below the gondola. With Limelight, you have to walk in ski boots and carry your skis up and down all of those stairs, both coming and going. This may not be a big deal for some, but it's something to seriously consider if you have children or simply don't enjoy hauling skis around. Overall, I do recommend the Limelight, it's a really nice, modern hotel with a great location, beautiful rooms, and a fun, lively atmosphere. Just go in knowing the trade-offs compared to The Westin, especially when it comes to ski access and value. Please see all my detailed pictures.

We wanted to check out this new establishment in Mammoth. There is only valet parking. We drove into the valet and they wouldn't park our car because we were not staying at the hotel, despite the fact we had dinner reservations at Limelight Lounge. For the restaurant ambience: The restaurant spans the entire lobby. The pool is on the floor below and guests are going back and forth through the lobby to the pool in bathrobes and swimsuits. There were two medium-large dogs in the lobby while we were eating. Food: - Bluefin tuna crudo- 6 small pieces, tuna was fresh and well-prepared. - Minestrone soup- soup was tasty, huge serving. - "Market Greens -- $18 shaved vegetables, sun gold tomato, Italian vin, ricotta salata." Large serving, included a few pieces of shaved kohlrabi, 4-5 pieces of shaved carrot, and grated parmesan, no tomato, no ricotta. - Roasted mushrooms- woodsy and flavorful. - Funghi pizza- dough was a bit undercooked but overall taste was good. - Roasted King Salmon- Salmon was mostly raw so sent it back. Chef overcooked the same piece until the white protein oozed out and served it again. We knew it was the exact same piece because it was missing the first chunk we sampled. The grilled treviso and olive gremolata were well-executed. - Dry Aged Cheese Burger- Ordered medium and came out raw with pool of bloody juices soaking the bun so sent it back. Server brought the replacement out with a steak knife and asked me to cut it in front of her- medium rare with bloody juices but edible. I said I would keep it but server said she personally wouldn't eat it and took it back again. Refer to photo for the third burger with menu description. No onions, no pickle, I ate the fries for dinner. Service: Our server was attentive and the manager comped two entrees. Dinner for 4 cost $167 including tip (no alcohol) and excluding the comped entrees. Will not be returning for this pricepoint.

My teenage son and I stayed here 2/20/26 weekend and while the hotel is still working out some issues that I'm sure are common to new hotels, we were impressed. Special thanks to front desk manager Joy and valet Carter. There was an issue with our stay being on 2 different reservations (not the hotels fault) and unfortunately I had to move rooms (and would have appreciated assistance with this) but other than that I loved the lobby and pool/jacuzzis. the breakfast buffet was very nice also...and the bartenders were excellent. I had an attentive female bartender both nights and wish I remembered her name but she always made sure I had a fresh drink or food. Also would be better if they had a food menu during day hours too, not just after 3 or 4 pm.

I just came here both days resting between XC sessions, ate some lunch I brought, had some water and just chilled out. Id definitely love to return and have a cocktail here and hang out here with a special someone, flirting the night away, plotting some clandestine tryst (maybe a beautiful hike into the mountains behind - looking at stars, listening for wild animals) and deeply enjoying life, big grins, and making each day count. Id also consider staying here on my next return, the surrounding area is just gorgeous!

The only downside and definitely a star deduction was perhaps it was too clean and smelled strongly of cleaning solution. We left open all the window and turned up the heat at night and turned on all the fans when we left for the day and by the second day, it was tolerable. Continental breakfast was fine with hard boiled eggs and yogurt for protein and cream cheese and peanut butter and all the toastable carbs. We loved our hikes and I loved kayaking on Twin Lakes. I…read moremean, if you're a skiier, you probably already know about it, but in the off season (before the snows), you can get a room for a low rate, and still have the whole of Mammoth Lakes at your doorstep to explore! Tons of shops, restaurants, breweries, distilleries, etc. await! For amenities, Juniper Springs Resort boasts a pool, an exercise room, a jacuzzi, and beautiful lounging areas. The rooms all have small balconies where you can get some fresh air and admire the scenery. And (we learned mid-trip) the resort is one of four regular stops for the local free shuttle/trolley that comes by every 30 minutes or so and is free to use. On top of that, the resort is adjacent to one of Mammoth Lakes' many ski lifts, so at least some of the runs are available literally right at your doorstep. The room we rented was comfortable and spacious, with a full kitchen, nice comfy living room with gas fireplace, and a separate bedroom, and there were TVs in both rooms. Parking, by the way, is underground, which is assuredly a huge perk during the winter snows. Overall, we were very pleased with our stay, and would definitely consider staying there again. Couple of things they could have done better: 1. Guests should be made aware at check-in of the availability of the shuttle/trolley. My sweetheart was stuck at the hotel for a day until we figured this out for ourselves, as even when asked about Uber/Lyft, the front desk never mentioned the shuttle. 2. The ice machine on the 4th floor was perpetually empty. Not sure if it was just being regularly raided by other guests, or if it was in need of service. 3. A blender we attempted to use (provided as one of the in-room amenities) leaked its contents out through the bottom seal like a seive. When I disassembled it to check the gasket, I found black mold. The front desk was unable to help, but offered to remove it for us. 4. The televisions in the room were not "smart" in the sense that we could not "cast" to them from our phones. We do this a lot, so it's not a user error thing. Just beware you will be limited to whatever viewing options the TV/cable service provides. PRO TIP 1: Hinging off of #3 above, the rooms in the resort are potentially privately owned. Apparently ours was, and was rented out as a sort of Air-BnB. This was the reason the hotel couldn't help with the blender, as it is not an item the resort provides, but was provided by the owner. PRO TIP 2: BEWARE THE ELEVATOR DOORS! They close VERY quickly after opening, and we were struck by them several times. Open the door, stick your hand in, and once everyone has gone in or out, then remove your hand. I'll end with a funny/silly observation. In the elevators was posted a list of the hotel regulations, among which were the parking requirements. The advisement ended with a warning that vehicles parked inappropriately, and not corrected within 24 hours, would have a "boot" affixed to their vehicle. In a nutshell, if your vehicle is parked in such a way that it is causing a problem, their "fix" will be to make that situation permanent. Totally makes sense.

Still comfortable and totally fine for what we needed. The best part of this hotel is that it's dog-friendly -- and truly dog-friendly. Any size dog, big or small, and there were dogs everywhere (including ours). There's a forested area behind the hotel that's perfect for letting your pup play in the snow. One downside: some guests don't pick up after their dogs, so there was dog poop around even though the hotel provides bag dispensers. Maybe adding more (or enforcing cleanup) would help. The price is good, the hotel is clean, but it is old -- very old -- and definitely showing its age. The hallway floors are uneven, the elevator makes some questionable noises, and nothing about it feels modern. That said, after skiing all day, the four hot tubs and heated pool are amazing and very much appreciated. I stay here for convenience, not luxury.
