This place doesn't even deserve a one star but in order for me to review it I had to. My parents talked highly about this place and were excited to take my son and I . We sat down for the waitress to throw water that we didn't ask for down on the table and our menus. We waited for 10/15 minutes during that time our waitress was cursing we thought she was coming to finally take our orders but she was grabbing her tip from another table beside us. As we got up to leave she ran from the table to the front yelling I didn't do nothing as we were leaving. This is a small little place that we visited after skiing. It's larger than it appears from the outside, is very clean, and has awesome service. I had a RIBEYE STEAK SANDWICH and it was lovvveeellly. The only thing that could have possibly made it better is a side of au jus for fun (don't know if it was an option because I was too busy eating to ask). My husband had a patty melt of some sort and he thought it was wonderful. My youngest had some roast beef and was not impressed--I tasted it to make sure it wasn't just him being tired and grumpy. Waitress didn't know vegetable of the day and had to ask. Maybe her shift had just started? Place looks just like a diner would look in the 50-60's. Parking can be difficult if you have a big truck. Parking spaces are small. Streets downtown are narrow. This was located a block off the square. Diner was not real clean. Couldn't sit in a booth by the front as tables had not been cleaned off. At the time we went (just after 12ish) it wasn't crowded. Chose this place as I had read reviews on Trip Advisor and Google that this is where locals eat. Lincoln Diner has been part of any pilgrimage to Gettysburg since we first went there during the last pre-covid Christmas festival. We were in town for an anniversary trip and stopped by for dinner on Saturday night. My wife ordered chocolate chip pancakes and I ordered baked ham. She ended up being served blueberry pancakes instead, but opted to eat them as she also likes blueberries. I got more of a ham cake instead of a slice of ham, which wasn't what I was expecting and not terribly thrilled with receiving. This is a very good diner for breakfast if you are in the Gettysburg area. I had the vegetable omelette with cheddar cheese. The omelette was fluffy and ample. The vegetables perfectly grilled and they gave me plenty of cheese. The sausage links were also quite good. The waitress was very friendly and made me feel at home. I am shocked there was a line to get in on a recent Saturday morning. The wait for terrible food was interminable. First, I had their "signature" sandwich which turned out to be a dry roast beef sandwich with a weird sweet sauce. My mother had honey fried chicken. There was no honey about this chicken. She quizzed the waitress about the honey and the waitress said,"It's what it says on the box." So, of course, these were frozen out of a box. Terrible. Good spot for some some affordable breakfast food in Gettysburg! I stayed at the Lodges at Gettysburg for the weekend and was a quick drive into the town. There is usually ample street parking as well as as a closeby parking garage down an alley off of the street as well as some more metered parking spots. There is seating in the main portion of the dinner with a bar and booths, as well as a dining room in the back. The menu is small with 2 pages but has a lot of different options of breakfast items, as well as scrapple for those who are into that. I ordered the Lincoln French Toast A La Mode which was good, but a bit on the sweet side. Prices are very fair and portion size is good. If I am in the area, I would try a more savory breakfast dish. read more

When I'm traveling I like to eat where the locals might go for a meal and not a fast food chain. This time while visiting Gettysburg we went on a recommendation to the diner. It's a little cramped inside and it looked like mostly college students were there the day we went. We shared a table with another family. It doesn't bother us, we're used to eating in Chinatown in New York where it's the norm. The kitchen was a little slow getting orders out but when we got our Breakfast it was hot and more than sufficient. I did ask for soft bacon. It arrived extra crispy. The waitress quickly brought me some that wasn't on the griddle as long. We had a 6 year old who wanted pancakes. So we ordered hers off the "Kid's menu". Two huge pancakes arrived. I wonder what the regular order looks like! She couldn't finish them. That's OK; she was happy. Our orders were just as large. If you're looking for great food at a great price, this is the place! Love going to Gettysburg and now will always go here to eat every time! Have tried the gyro platter,Lincoln cheese steak with fries,chicken breast with crab cake dinner and the Greek steak sub with fries. Everything was fabulous! Leave room for dessert! These are the best!! As for social distancing, there is glass between booths when you first enter the diner. No sitting allowed at the counter. There is plenty of room in dining room for distancing. I was just there recently (Friday evening) , I normally love the Lincoln and visit every time I'm in town. I have even recommended it to friends that visit Gettysburg. I was in town with friends we visited the diner and your quality has dropped. It was not the same place I used to enjoy. The food quality isn't as good the floor in the dining room area was disgusting. The young man that was our waiter was too busy sitting with friends at a table to be troubled to get coffee for us. I called last night to express my concern to a manager the person said the manager only works 7-2. The diner seemed entirely staffed by teenagers. Our server (Robin) came by in about a minute to take our drink order. I had coffee with half & half; my wife had Unsweetened Ice Tea... Drinks arrived in about two minutes... I ordered the three egg bacon & eggs breakfast... My wife order the French Toast with Powdered Sugar. Although is was very busy as I stated earlier, our breakfast came rather quickly. FANTASTIC!!! My eggs were cooked perfect as per my request. The bacon was nice and crispy. The potatoes were superb. The French Toast was excellent and had a lot of powdered sugar. Our breakfast was outstanding by any means of comparison.
