I'm a sucker for dumplings. But this one is hit or miss. Sometimes it's great, other times it's super greasy and not the best. If the consistency was there, this would be a 4 star review. Also, I wouldn't recommend Togo from here. Every time I've gotten dumplings to go, there is so much grease which makes it so heavy to eat. read more

I've travelled all over Asia and was ruined by the amazing flavors compared to the Americanized versions..... it is always hard for me to find Authentic Flavors from Asia...... but Ling Long knocks it out of the park. I was finally able to drop in this place that has been on my list since it opened as we are regulars at Torchy's. It's definitely delicious and authentic. The very polite owner offered me a free veggie dumpling sample which was excellent, even without sauce - as other reviews have mentioned it's all about the crispy/bite-worthy wonton dumpling wrapper avoiding the soggy trap. For my lunch main I got the Combo 2 chicken noodle soup with broccoli and carrots on the side. The soup broth is Umami-delicious, balanced well and not too salty. I may have made the typical Westerner mistake of not stirring the soup throughly because down towards the bottom lies the chili flake heat which packed a surprising kick since you get lulled into complacency by the top soup. The chicken was cooked well but it's merely the protein side-show to the broth/noodle main act. Note there are edamame beans at the bottom to greet you with additional texture. The noodles were chewy-yummy. The broccoli and carrots side was crunchy, fresh and had a very subtle sesame oil sauce. This was the perfect healthy lunch for a crisp winter day. Small sparsely furnished Asian restaurant run by a couple of talented Asian women. I had their wonton dumplings and they were pretty good but I did have a wonton soup that I probably wouldn't get again. I should have gone with what my gut told me and not the one that she recommended. Perhaps all Asian people think that Americans like fatty bad for you food and soup. I'm a different animal though. Overall was very good. I must have come too early because the egg tarts were not ready, yet. I opted for the pan fried pork dumplings and hot and sour soup. The dumpling had a lot of meat in it and tasted very good. I would have preferred a smaller portion since these are fried. In my opinion, I think 10 is too much for one person. Don't get me wrong, I really have no beef about it. I do know some of the dumpling restaurants downtown serve 1/2 portion and a dozen. One half portion fills me fine. The soup was tasty. I don't know if it was an off night or if this is the best they have to offer. We came here based almost exclusively on the reviews posted. We ordered the dumplings (1/2 pork, 1/2 chicken), edamame, chicken ramen, and fried rice. The dumplings were full of meat and the spicy dipping sauce was a great compliment, but that was where the food peaked. The best thing about the soup was the chicken. The broth had no flavor and the noodles were firm. It's hard to mess up edamame and they were just ok. The fried rice was in no way fried. It was steamed "Uncle Ben's" with a bag or peas and carrots added to it. Even the egg was steamed. For a nicely decorated atmosphere and for as sparse as the menu was, this place did not live up to the reviews in any way. They need to work on their menu. read more

Cozy and cool place to eat or grab a to go order from. Friendly staff (multilingual) and easy to understand the ordering process. Special which includes a drink and tv on the back wall. They also sell boba but I didn't not try this on my visit today. Food- the dumplings were delicious and were well cooked, I would recommend. The beef soup and the others were a bit eh. They were delicious but I wish it had more spice to them. I found myself adding hot sauce/siracha to them and enjoying them more. The noodle broth is extremely flavorful and came out boiling hot. I added chili paste to provide a little kick and got the sinuses opened up. The noodles have a good chew and carried the broth flavor extremely well. The pork dumplings are packed to the brim with filling with a great vinegary dipping sauce. I ate here a couple of weeks back. The restaurant is small but has nice big wooden tables. The dumplings were fairly good though their menu is simple and limited. There are only three kinds of dumplings. What I really didn't like was the plastic ware I had to eat with especially because I ordered soup and plastic chemicals leach into food. I commented this to the worker and she claimed that "because of covid". I looked into this and there is no state rule saying that restaurants have to use plastic ware. There is no risk of covid transmission through dishes or utensils as long as they are washed of course. I'm very annoyed by restaurants making this claim. This spot here looks fairly new and is really good! Let me explain, I just so happen to pass by this place and immediately when walking in, the place looks clean and new. It looks like they are still in the process of adding stuff to the restaurant. The menu is located at the counter near their register, it's a simple menu offering dumplings, noodles/soups, a few sides, and desserts and a few drinks. I tried the wontons noodle soup and pork dumplings which were recommended by the employee. The wonton broth was rich and clean in flavor, noodles were firm and chewy, and the Wonton!!! Wow!! It was delicious! Lots of flavor, good in size, just perfect. Now the star of my trip here had to be the pork dumplings, they are filled generously, chewy and fried at the bottom and when dipped in the provided sauce it creates a flavor bomb explosion with a soft and crunchy texture! I really loved the pork dumplings! They did also recommend the vegetable dumplings so I think we will try those next time. I finished my meal with a delicious milk tea! Over all this place is delicious and recommend you try it. Would like to see more drink options though since they currently only have bottled drinks and would like to have napkins and utensils more readily accessible. Dee-lish!!! I was always a fan of Doozoos at Houston park shops until my company moved to Energy Corridor and I had Ling Long. These dumplings are pan fried and I eat the entire dumpling...no waste. This place is just wow! I was immediately impressed when I entered the restaurant it it was super clean. Cleanliness is one of the main things that helps me decide whether or not I'm going to eat at certain places. Placing my order by phone was very easy and the small menu makes it less overwhelming to decide what to get. Nonetheless, I tried almost one of everything and loved it all. You get a lot more stuffing and the texture is just right. It's not too thick with perfect chew and crisp. Tried vegetable and pork ones, both were very good. I also liked their Tea egg and the beef broth soups bc they have a clearer broth and have really good flavors. They do taste different. The beef was fall apart tender and flavorful. Someone in our group got the Chicken soup and the chicken is pre-marinated and salted, and authentic. Surprisingly, tender and not dry as chicken in soups usually is! Also tried the egg/chive buns and love the texture and flavor. The egg custard is similar to the expensive ones at 99Ranch bakery, but cheaper. read more
