We're usually the youngest by 30+ years, but that's alright with me! Last night we came for our tenth anniversary, and were warmly greeted and wished a happy anniversary by multiple people, seated in a comfy circular booth, and immediately introduced to our server, Molly. She was great, and very attentive without being overbearing. We ordered drinks and food, and everything was perfect. I had the appetizer of three scallops, which were cooked absolutely perfectly, and the lobster tempura, which was very tasty. My wife had the French Onion soup and blackened mahi mahi. If you're trying to impress your friends, family, partner etc go to Linwood. Literally everything we ordered was super delicious and each ingredient on the plate compliments each other so beautifully. On to the main point of this review, the first time I came here I order Beef tenderloin and omg there is sooo much favor on the plate, you would think that the star of the plate is the beef but no no no (I mean it was still pretty dang good and perfectly cooked) for me it was the way the vegetables were seasoned. That took my breathe away! I could just keep eating it all day long and trust me even if you don't like vegetables you're gonna love this one, it's just heaven. My boy got the classic New York strip and according to him it was "pretty good". Our waitress also suggested we tried the grilled octopus and it was the most tender melt in your mouth octopus tentacle I've ever eaten (disclaimer it's just one tentacle so its very small :( ). So happy to have found this gem. I went to Linwoods for date night and had a ball. We went on a Thursday evening and to our surprise it was very busy but thankfully we had a reservation and was sat immediately. We were greeted by our server and although once helped she was great we did have to wait for a while before she would come back to check on us. We ordered the Brussels Caesar and grilled octopus to start- immaculate. The hummus, grilled octopus and pita combo was something I never knew I needed. We also loved the freshness of the brussels and appreciated a bit so traditional Caesar. Those two plates of fish you see didn't stand a chance, I practically inhaled it and we took the other one home to truly savor over a glass of wine. Hello Yelpers....So this is my 2nd time at Linwood's. Last I was here was in 2019. The restaurant is not too big. It has an open kitchen which I think is really kool. I think another reason I like Linwood's is because it is a fine restaurant in the heart Owings Mills. It was nice not to drive to far out for a change. It's my birthday and my husband choose Linwood's. Pricey...Yes. However, I did enjoy the food. I had a Fish dish with Cauliflower purée and peas. It was on the light side which was on purpose for me because I didn't want anything too heavy. My hubby got a burger and fries. He enjoyed it, I enjoyed my birthday meal and we left happy. A very good friend of mine invited me to go to Linwoods for my birthday. I ordered the grilled octopus appetizer. I never had it before so I took a chance. I shared it with my friend. We liked it SO much that we ordered a one. Then, I ordered beef short ribs. They were so succulent, tender, and savory. The service was excellent as well. This was my fourth time there. We visited this place on a Saturday evening. The restaurant is located in the middle of a business plaza. Although the restaurant was completely full, we still received amazing service. I frequent Parc (a French restaurant) in Philadelphia to read a book, drink wine and have their French onion soup... the French onion soup had some bitter notes where the onion had burnt, but not in a bad way. The broth was darker than I'd ever seen before in my 43 years of living. This was a new take, and I loved it. The tuna comes on little tacos... but I chose a non-carb option. They sent me lettuce cups, and it was delightful. I didn't eat, but watched the 'espresso rubbed ribeye' being cooked, and it smelled amazing, but what stood out even more in this aromatic euphoria... was every time they cooked the sea bass and Bronzino (Mediterranean white fish)... I have had both the privilege and pleasure of being a frequent diner at Linwoods Restaurant. In my humble opinion as a foodie hunter, Linwoods is the best fine-dining restaurant in the Baltimore region (both in the quality of cookery and price). It is an establishment truly worthy of 5/5 stars. The following review is based on a birthday dinner that I had when I turned 18. Linwoods is always spotless, clean, and organized - the air is fresh, the floors freshly vacuumed, seats free of crumbs, table cloths without a stain, utensils polished to glisten, and the table set up professionally. The music is always classical, and plays softly from overhead speakers. One great aspect of the establishment is the open kitchen, where any diner can see the chefs cooking right in front of them. There are also areas that offer privacy for special occasions. The waitstaff are professional, kind, and know the ins and outs of the menu, explaining every dish in full detail. The front desk is always receptive and is professional about keeping reservations in check. The food: Before dinner, freshly baked bread (generally white rolls and buns) that has a wonderful texture and aroma is brought out with freshly whipped butter. The exterior crunch and fluffy inside of the rolls in combination with the rich dairy profile of the butter amalgamates into a rich and warm sensation that primes your palate for the coming plates. ***Linwoods also offers a pre-fix menu that offers a 3 course meal (appetizers, entree, and dessert) at a great price. This particular dinner, the first appetizer was a seasonal cold Crab Soup, consisting of lump crab meat immersed in a tomato-pepper stock. You could bite into the fresh crab, al-dente onions, peppers, tomato, and cucumber (an element that added to the soup's overall freshness). It was light, had playful textures, and made a great start. Another appetizer I tried was the sea scallops, wonderfully seared and presented with a vegetable slaw (corn, pickled onions), avocado, crispy wontons, sweet soy, and sriracha aioli. The softness and butteriness of the scallop in conjunction with the slaw brought yet another sense of freshness, the avocado added creaminess, and the aioli combined all the elements into a phenomenal dish. My main course was a 5 oz. Filet Mignon, served over potato gratin, grilled asparagus, and drizzled with a red-wine sauce reduction. Wow. The beef literally dissolved in your mouth, and combined with the cheesiness and creaminess of the gratin, creating a blissful sensation when topped with the sauce. The asparagus had a good bite and seasoning to it, and paired well as a garnish with the dish. The desserts finish the entirety of the courses with a triumphant finish. The chocolate cake with the raspberry couli is absolutely divine - the ratio of chocolate to cake base is perfect and the berry reduction is bursting with flavor. The passionfruit cake is fluffy, the cream not overwhelming, and the flavor of passionfruit permeating the entirety of the slice Every plate Linwood presents is wonderfully plated, clean, and offers some amazing flavors. The venue is charming, sophisticated, and offers a modern yet rustic sensation to the diner. I had the pleasure of visiting Linwoods while I was in Maryland. I was taken here as a thank you for a project that is coming to a close. I was so excited! They offered lunch specials but I was more interested in the crab cake. I was able to substitute fries for a small salad. And the coleslaw was homemade and amazing. Words cannot even describe how delicious the crab cake tasted. This place has been in business for a long time and it is not cheap. But once you taste the food you will not care how much you pay! For dessert I had a coconut lemon cake that melted in my mouth. Everyone at my table was so happy with their meal. I asked for a cot so I could lay down and take a nap :-) This is not a spot that I would frequent all the time because I'm not rich lol. I had a sharp piece of shared plastic in my crab soup. After speaking with the manager she confirmed it was the plastic that tops the crab meat container. The shared plastic was in my mouth and I could have easily swallowed it... chewed it and broke a tooth. So they discounted the beverages and not the soup with the shared plastic in it. For some time I've been looking for a good restaurant in Owings Mills/Pikesville for when I head back to Baltimore to visit family. I finally found it. Linwoods makes a New York food snob happy. Really good food, nice ambiance, and good service. Short rib tacos, pizza, Brussels Caesar and other dishes were all quite good. And all went well with a very reasonably priced bottle of Champagne. I've always wanted to visit Linwood. The challenge was that it was so expensive and I didn't know if their quality met their price. I learned that they were participating in Restaurant Week. This was my perfect opportunity to have a 3 course meal for $42. Parking was pretty easy. They actually have reserved parking for their patrons. They have coat check as well. Their hosting staff were very polite and allowed us to be seated even though our entire party wasnt initially present. They have a whiskey drink called Campfire Cider that sounded amazing. I'm not drinking so I asked the bartender to make me a non-alcoholic version. It included spiced apple cider, cranberry juice,and whiskey barrel aged bitters. Loved it! The bartender made it perfectly. I'm a huge apple cider fan and I was content without the alcohol. Our waitress was curt yet efficient. Her superb service was straight forward and attentive. She brought out very warm soft bread. It was dynamic. The butter was whipped and perfectly matched with the bread. Course One: Spinach salad. This included bacon, red onion, feta, and crouton with sherry vinaigrette. I would grad this an A-. The cheese was a bit overpowering but didn't take away from the salad. The menu price is $12.50. Course Two: Herbs de Provence Salmon, wild rice, sweet potatoes, pecans, green onions, dried cranberries, pomegranate seeds. The salmon is dy.nam.ic. It was succulently cooked. The base of the meal was yummy but the consistent texture change was annoying. To go from a soft sweet potato to a hard pecan, to the bitter cranberries to the pomegranate seeds.....it was a bit much. Yet at the same time brilliant in flavor. The menu price is $37. Course Three: Carrot cake with cream cheese icing. All of us ordered this and only one person (non-black)ate it and thought it was delicious. Lol. It wasnt horrible but black people have a different take and expectation for carrot cake. None of us ate more than 2 bites. I felt a little bad because the majority of the table left the carrot cake. Overall, Linwood lives up to the hype. I will gladly come back and pay regular prices knowing that they cook quality food. read more

It is a v popular restaurant, but the ambiance was quiet and relaxing since they do their best to space diners.
