For context: a year ago, 3 movers moved my entire 3-bedroom house (twice the size of this apartment) with an extra storage unit stop in under 4 hours. This crew milked the clock. One guy spent nearly an hour wrapping just four basic items (a chair, ottoman, table, and dresser). Items sat staged on the curb for two hours without being loaded. The pace was so slow that we had to start carrying items to the truck ourselves just to finish. Even the crew leader admitted to me that one of his guys was moving too slow, yet they billed me for every single minute. I have reached out multiple times by phone and email requesting a fair refund for 2 hours of wasted labor, and management is completely ghosting me. They took the extra time to help me place my heavy furniture and took apart and put back together beds after going up and down my stairs. At the inception of the job, I was quoted a very high amount for a local move, which I agreed to, as I had no other option and needed a move quickly. Ryan sold me on their diligence, their process, and the various roles of each worker; little of which came to fruition on our job. We had to plead and advocate for several of our items to be packed properly, after discovering very shoddy work. Some parts of furniture were only covered with very little shrink wrap, which they ran out of quickly as they did not have enough of the necessary materials to complete our job. This left us feeling very confused and very frustrated as we paid such a high premium for this very average-seeming move into empty storage units. Many of our items had to be transported to the storage facility loosely and improperly due to the lack of materials, to be properly packed later at the destination. Ultimately we had to take on the burden and risk of our items being damaged in transit to the storage units due to the companies mistake. There was little to no protocol conducive to an organized job. Many of the men were seemingly unsupervised, and much of the time, doing little to help move things along. We were concerned that most of the men working had little to no experience moving items. Our items were not labeled, which we were promised before the job. This was something very important to us as we wanted to keep track of our items. In the end, we paid over $4,000 for about 8 hours of work, that very well could have been 4-6 hours of work with a decent protocol and the necessary supervision. We highly regret trusting this company with our items, money, and time. It was a reminder to us that we really cannot let our guard down and trust anybody at face value, even when paying such a premium and being promised a great product. Since we were not provided a receipt in person, I was left to discover that the card was charged just over $4,400 through square. We are not sure how to justify this amount as we do not have a receipt. We are seriously so upset and felt compelled to share our experience.

DO NOT HIRE SIMPLER MOVING!!!…read more **Use the services of Simpler Moving if you have a lot of money and don't want any broken items paid for after you've paid for their services.** Luke, Stephen, and Sawyer were very polite and easy to work with... while packing things. Luke and Stephen then unpacked everything as requested, putting things where I asked, which did save me the hours of unwrapping all my things, freeing me from breaking down all the boxes and dealing with all the packing paper. *Keep in mind* I knew going in that I had hired one of the most expensive movers out there, but I had to move very quickly so had little choice. HOWEVER... When I contacted Luke, then later Layne the owner, after I found a broken clock, a ripped duvet cover, and I realized the tape used to keep my earrings from falling out of my earring pocket storage display had ruined it (removal of the tape left a sticky residue I couldn't get off even with Goo Gone) I was IGNORED COMPLETELY. Then, Layne promised it was so a mix-up and my money would be refunded back on my credit card I paid with originally. Still haven't seen that money. This was after I had written a GLOWING review (which they did respond to, go figure).  I included photos of my destroyed items. I even sent screenshots of exactly where replacements could be ordered including each replacement cost. Total reparations only came to $106.19. Considering I paid them $3,421.80 to move and unpack for me, I can't believe Layne is so cheap that he is SIMPLY avoided paying for so little, and so easily. Sure wish I could get back even some of the extra tip money I overpaid. It would easily cover the cost of my things.
