Despite the store being packed, Emily at checkout was incredibly friendly and helpful. Manager Edwin came over, quickly handled the adjustment, and even knocked a little extra off for the inconvenience. No hassle, no attitude, just genuinely great customer service. It's easy to provide service when things go smoothly. It's more telling how people respond when there is a hiccup. Emily and Edwin made the experience easy and pleasant. The concept here is genius: they've got a fridge stocked with meats and cheeses right next to crackers, so you can literally build your own charcuterie board on the spot. There's usually a food truck parked outside too. You can also buy a bottle of wine, a case of beer, or a pack of seltzers, and they'll hold onto it for you and pour as you go. It's such a cozy, easygoing spot that we constantly lose track of time there, quite literally hours just disappear. The staff is friendly, accommodating, and knowledgeable every single time. I decided to go inside with him because I was curious what they had here. He had his eye on a specific type of white wine and thanks to someone here that helped him out, he ended up clearing out all of its' inventory, buying at least six bottles of this specific brand. It was a Riesling white wine but I don't remember the full name of it. He and my mom now have plenty of wine to go through over the next couple of months lol. Here, I thought to myself, I should buy myself a bottle of wine as well. At my dad's suggestion and since I'm a big fan of Chardonnay and other types of white wine, I picked up a Nobilis white wine straight out of Portugal. When I traveled to Europe a couple of years ago, I did a lot of white wine tastings and this is pretty much how my white wine palate peaked. I've yet to visit Portugal, though.
