I came here for dinner with my boyfriend for my birthday. I absolutely enjoyed every single dish we had. The tasting menu here is seasonal so you might not get the same dishes but they we all fantastic and interesting. The drinks we had were amazing as well. The staff was extremely kind, it also happened to out servers birthday. The restaurant has plenty of room and was not too crowded when we went. I would like to note that the best bite I had was the caviar blinis. They're on sale on fridays at their bar. I will definitely be returning.

Little Donkey is a hip spot in Central Square great for dates, friend catch-ups or bigger groups.... It's got that foodie-vibe where you know you are going to get great food and drinks in a cool atmosphere. The menu is mix n' match small plates/tapas with an Asian spin. LD Is well known for their burger which is top notch- well seasoned patty, perfect melted American, with rich onion soup mayo cut nicely with piquant pickles and touch of spice & crunch from Jalapeño chips. The crispy chicken sandwich with thai-inspired tangy slaw & pickled jalapeños + avocado ranch was also stellar. Brussel sprouts were perfectly balanced with a hint of smoke, hot honey, and bright pomegranate seeds. I look forward to trying a few more small bites and specials at their Friday/Saturday " Donkey hour ". The cocktails rock and bartenders have been great at being attentive despite being super busy. I would also absolutely save room for the fun/tasty desserts- in fact I would come back for that cookie dough (served straight off the beater) alone! Check it out

The food was great as always. It came out very fast. The service was friendly and fast as well. The waiter recommended the Cacio e Pepe which was my favorite. It was made with ramen noodles. Loved the tostada and the branzino as well. The octopus was tender. The two things I didn't care for were the shrimp toasts (as it was a paste and the entire bao was fried) and the blt lettuce wraps. The lettuce didn't hold the heavy and hearty bacon, pimento cheese, and pickled onions well. I would've rather had a different vessel for all of the things together! It was busy for a Monday night but not impossible to get a seat like it normally is here!

Little Donkey was highly recommended by a couple friends, so we decided to go here for Valentines. There was a special menu, but I believe most or all of these items are available on the regular menu. I loved the halibut- it was tangy, soft, and super flavorful. The duck and mushroom were savory and hearty, and went nicely with the pastry. The crab mac and cheese was superb- a lot of crab and every bite was cheesy with a nice chew from the rice cake. The wagyu beef was also super tender and moist. The dessert wasn't my favorite, though if you're a chocolate lover it's right up your alley! It's a very cozy restaurant, and the food came out very quickly. The servers were very quick to remove empty plates and fill our waters too. Overall super pleased with our experience and definitely want to come back. One thing to note is that the tables are pretty close together, and can be annoying to get in and out from your seat.

TLDR; nice service and location, meh food This place is really close to Le Meridien, so it's one of the few places still open after you come back to the hotel after a meeting. The ambiance is chill and the service was nice. The food was ok; presentation was great but the taste was a bit boring. The service staff were great, and the overall vibe of the restaurant was also very fun :)

We had a really great meal at Little Donkey. I was slightly concerned it might be gimicky but the food was really good across the board. Cauliflower and the tuna tostada were standouts!

Came here for a drink with friends. This place is easy to get to if you take the red line. Parking can be a bit tricker. The drink I got was mangos after dark. It had a Greek yogurt foam on top which I wanted to try but I was not that big of a fan. The mango part of the drink was delicious and not too sweet. I would like to come back again to try the drinks. The service was great and they kept checking in with us at the bar

I told my mother we went to Little Donkey and she replied do not please do not tell me you ate another donkey. Much to your dismay and much to my pleasure there is no donkey on the menu: its meat is often tough and in my humble opinion why would you eat a donkey when you could eat a cow or a horse or a sheep, or a baby version thereof. There are other options on Little Donkey's menu. The venue is well-decorated, although perhaps loud on the ear if you are seated in the middle of the room, midway between the dirty asphalt of Mass Ave and the sizzling meats and legumes of Little Donkey's kitchen in the back. Maybe a window seat, even if elevated, is the best option. I have only visited Little Donkey this one time and had a pleasant experience, insofar as the food was tasty, although perhaps not uniformly. Items that I sampled from the menu included, but were not limited to, a single oyster, tuna and salmon belly tartare, BLT lettuce wraps, manti, burger, and cookie dough. The BLT lettuce wraps were the most unexpected, and this is said in a world of endless expectations. This is a build-your-own endeavor of tender and fatty lamb bacon, a flavorful pimento concoction, green leaves of lettuce, and more. I had not anticipated a breadless BLT to be so delicious, but I was proven wrong. The burger was also good, it reminded me of Shake Shack but with several more eclectic toppings whose flavor can be described as sweeter than a green banana but sourer than a gala apple. The manti were cute due to their petiteness; their flavor was perfectly acceptable although not exceptional, and one contained a sharp bone which is natural but nevertheless undesirable. For better manti go to Tashkent Supermarket in Brooklyn. And lest I forget my single oyster: I bit into it and its organs and juices squirted throughout my mouth. The cookie dough--a dessert--was extremely dense, which made it good value. One does not visit Little Donkey for the deal of the century. One may visit for, perhaps, a unique dining experience or a nice dinner with some friends. I would return on a special occasion.

Had the best visit to Little Donkey! My SO and I were visiting Boston for my birthday and we came here on Saturday night. It was quite busy but we were able to make a reservation the day of, which was very surprising. The atmosphere is very nice and great for a date night. Our server walked us through the menu explaining their global tapas and recommend 2-3 dishes a person. We ended up ordering the eggplant, lamb meatballs, mushroom fried rice and BLT lettuce wraps. It was all so good! We definitely over ordered though. Probably could have done with one less dish in our opinion. We really loved the fried rice and the lettuce wraps. The wraps were very unique and the lamb bacon was delicious. We were too full to get dessert but a few things did look good! They also brought me out some of their cookie dough for my birthday which was very nice. Overall would highly recommend!

Great tapas and great service! Located in Cambridge which was a quick Uber for us from Burlington and Boston. Stopped by on a week night for dinner and there was no wait. We walked in and were quickly seated. It is very dim and intimate here. Perfect for a date night. Love that you can see the kitchen working in the back. Our server Melissa was super helpful and friendly helping us order the right amount since it was our first time. Our food came out super quick. The dishes here are tapas style so you order 2-3 per person and share. Corn fritter - super crispy and good! The corn was so sweet! I liked that it was not overly oily. Grilled ribs - loved the sweet sticky sauce! The ribs were not dry and super flavorful. Crispy squid - this was a good addition to the tapas we ordered. The squid did not get soggy from the nuoc cham sauce and I loved the addition of sliced meat Loaf. Pupusa - this was ok. Wished there was more than just cheese in the pupusa. Tuna toastada - decent but not amazing. Too much spring onion but the fish was fresh.

Could you please make Caldo Gallego for the winter? It's soooooo comforting.

Is the patio heated / comfortable for cold weather?

Absolutely not. There are vertical heaters but not nearly enough of them, and no windbreak or any shelter from rain.

What can I order that is healthy? Trying to lose weight but I'm a foodie. Everything on the menu looks great.

We got a burger and the chicken sandwich, so not sure, I would just chalk it up for a "cheat" day. Or at least eat lighter during the day to enjoy the food there.

    Is this place family friendly?

For drinks, we ordered the spritz from the drink menu and also asked if they could make a lychee martini. The lychee martinis weren't bad and were pink to match the spritz which was fun, but I do wish the martini included an actual lychee. We ordered the pork bao buns for the table which usually come in two, but our waitress kindly offered for three bao buns to come out since our group had three people. These bao buns were fantastic and I would definitely recommend, the pork was so tender and flavorful. I ordered the 2011 guchi ramen and unfortunately, I was disappointed. I've had many bowls of ramen in my lifetime and maybe my opinion is based on personal preference, but the ramen was not great. The broth was pretty bland and the pork was mostly fat and the meat itself was quite dry and tough. I'm not sure if this is what they were going for, but I wouldn't recommend the ramen and I wouldn't get it again. However, I wouldn't be opposed to coming back and trying something else as my friends enjoyed their meal!

Okay, for a solo adventure I chose the bar and yes, they took me to a seat there. Looking at the menu I knew it was tapas style going in but before I could really start looking at anything the bar tender said, "or, there's a chef tasting." Okay, stop there, let's just do that and add the meat and fish option. To start was the Strawberry Fattoush - Little Gems, Cucumber, Pomegranate Vinaigrette, Pita Chips, Sumac - amazing. Next was the Warm Buttered Hummus - Basturma, Tomato, Black Olive. Still doing great! Then the Fried Mussels - Hot Peppers, Turkish Almond Tarator Sauce. Can't say I have ever had those before! The Spinach Falafel - Tahini, Beet Tzatziki, Pickles was next. Though you could roll it up, eating it that way was pointless. Back to the knife and fork. After that was the Grilled Asparagus - Sorrel Aioli, Puffed Black Rice, Bergamot Honey. Probably the most familiar looking dish of the night. Then the Sultan's Delight - Tamarind Beef, Smoky Eggplant Purée, Basil. Aamazing! Still going after that was the Swordfish - Nettle Freekah, Red Pepper Tahini, Buttermilk Fried Fiddle Heads. Then finally the Turkish-Style Profiteroles - Brown Butter Crème, Sesame Caramel Cashews, Halva with something else on the side. All of this with a Shepherds Pilsner which I believe is my first brew from Palestine. Who knew that was possible? Needless to say, the meal was quite an adventure. Definitely worth it. All amazing as was the service at the bar!

Oh, Oleana! Tucked…read moreaway in Cambridge, Oleana is a cozy Mediterranean restaurant serving small plates. My partner and I managed to snag a last-minute reservation on a Tuesday night, and even at 9 p.m. the restaurant was still lively. Between the beautiful decor and warm atmosphere, it made for a great date night spot, though it was admittedly a bit dim (apologies in advance for the photo quality!) Between the two of us, we ended up ordering quite a few dishes: Whipped Feta (4/5): This was good, though I was hoping for a stronger roasted pepper flavor. Nothing wrong with it, but it didn't quite stand out. Interestingly, we overheard the table next to us mention the same thing, so maybe this one's a bit hit or miss. Spinach Falafel (4/5): Another solid dish. It was bright, colorful, and fresh, though a little messy to eat. Our waiter rather bluntly told us to "just wrap it and bite," which caught us a little off guard, but it was good nonetheless. Fatteh (4.5/5): Our favorite appetizer of the night. The creamy roasted cauliflower paired so well with the crispy pita, and I especially loved the sweetness the onions brought to the dish. Sultan's Delight (5/5): As everyone else says, this is the one to order. The beef was incredibly tender and rich. In hindsight, I almost wish we'd had the potatoes from the Adana Kebab to eat alongside it because they would've been the perfect accompaniment. Vermont Quail Kebab (5/5): Tied with the Sultan's Delight as our favorite entrée. The quail was juicy, well-spiced, and surprisingly easy to eat. I'd absolutely order this again. Adana Kebab (4/5): By this point, I think we were simply getting full. The kebab itself was good, but not nearly as memorable as the other meat dishes. Ironically, the potatoes and peppers that came with it might have been my favorite part--they would've paired perfectly with the Sultan's Delight. Baked Alaska (4.5/5): Delicious. The toasted meringue paired wonderfully with the coconut ice cream, though we were a little mixed on the passionfruit caramel, which came across slightly burnt and more acidic than expected. After a while the meringue did become quite sweet, so we ended up pairing some with the Muhallebi. Dark Chocolate Muhallebi (3.5/5): Yes...we ordered two desserts. I was mostly drawn in by the kaymak ice cream, but the Muhallebi itself was almost completely unsweetened. I'm usually all for desserts that aren't overly sweet, but this one leaned more savory than I expected. We actually ended up adding some leftover meringue from the Baked Alaska to balance it out. Looking back, given both our appetites (and our wallets), I think we would've been perfectly happy just ordering the Baked Alaska. Overall, Oleana was a lovely spot for a date night. While it didn't quite live up to the lofty expectations I'd built up from all the praise, we still had a really enjoyable meal. Our main waiter was kind, and I appreciated that the dishes came out in rounds, giving us plenty of time to eat and chat. The meat dishes were definitely the highlights for us, but overall there's a lot to like here.

The pancakes were not crispy at all and ate very mushy. The carrot curry was delish but all the flavors together with the raita didn't really do it for me. We walked into a warm, energetic space with dim lighting, an open dining room, and a constant buzz that makes it a great choice for a night out with friends or a date. The restaurant has a vibrant, social energy that encourages sharing and exploration, and the open layout adds to the sense of activity without feeling chaotic. Rather than ordering individual entrées, the experience is centered around sharing a variety of dishes, making each visit feel a little different depending on what you choose. The tapas are the highlight of the menu, with plenty of options that encourage trying a little bit of everything. The bacon-wrapped dates are one of the signature dishes, balancing sweet and savory flavors, while the patatas bravas, croquettes, and charcuterie boards are reliable choices to start the meal. If you are looking for something more substantial, the seafood paella and squid ink pasta stand out as excellent main dishes, offering rich flavors and generous portions that are easy to split between two or more people. The olive oil cake is also worth saving room for if you want to end the meal with dessert, and the overall progression of the meal works well with the tapas format. The drink menu is just as impressive as the food. Wine is the main focus, with an extensive list featuring Spanish and international selections, but the sangria and cocktails are equally popular. It is the kind of place where you can easily spend a couple of hours sharing plates while working your way through a few different drinks, and the beverage program is thoughtfully curated to match the style of the food. Service is one of the restaurant's strongest points. The staff are knowledgeable about both the menu and wine list, and dishes arrive steadily throughout the meal instead of all at once, creating a relaxed dining pace. The pacing allowed us to enjoy each dish without feeling rushed, and the team checked in at the right moments without hovering. The restaurant is consistently busy, especially on weekends, so reservations are highly recommended. Even with a reservation, there can occasionally be a short wait, and the lively atmosphere means the dining room can get quite loud during peak hours. The energy of the room is part of what makes the experience work, but it is worth keeping in mind if you are looking for a quieter dinner. Barcelona Wine Bar is one of the best places in Boston for Spanish-inspired tapas and wine. The combination of flavorful shareable dishes, a well-curated drink menu, attentive service, and vibrant atmosphere makes it an easy choice for group dinners, celebrations, or date nights. It offers a meal that feels both communal and polished, with a setting that encourages slowing down and enjoying the evening. Just be prepared for the energetic environment and plan ahead if you are visiting during the busiest times.

I am over the MOON with Moon Bar!…read more If I could live here I would! :) Another excellent experience here and it just happened to be restaurant week. We also spent an hour at the King Tut exhibit across the street! This restaurant/bar always seems packed. And, with reservations for 645pm (highly recommend) the bar was quite busy. The buzz from this high-end cocktail bar is exactly what you want on a Friday evening; From girlfriends sipping their wine to couples laughing and swirling their cocktails, Moon Bar is for the classy and sexy. Abby our server is excellent! A mixologist who knows all the cocktails and can recommend based on your preference. I tried one of their new cocktails with bourbon and did not care for it. Abby made me my mezcal drink that I have ordered before...its the 305 cowboy, an extremely popular drink. A must try for sure! Note: Some bartenders make you feel guilty for saying something about a drink you ordered and did not like. But, here at Moon Bar, Abby was so gracious to make me something that I will enjoy. Hats off to her:) Food: Since it was restaurant week we just shared everything. For starters we ordered the Tuna Tartare that was excellent. Then, we had Piri-Piri Chicken Thighs that were also good but quite spicy. For dessert, we shared the Caribbean Tiramisu, which was great. It was a tough choice between this and the Guava Cheesecake. We were so full that we ended up bringing home leftovers. Oh, I also forgot to mention we always order their Curry Fries - a must try when coming here Trust Me. My husband doesn't love curry but he loves these fries and you will too. #friesaretodiefor Moon Bar, thanks for being amazing in every way. Thanks for your splendid service, crafty cocktails, delicious wine (try the Pinot Noir from Germany), and your amazing food ---Love those Curry Fries! "Alexa, make reservations for 2 at Moon Bar for tonight." Cheers~

The great palm and golden colada were my favorite. They were both sweet with a tangy aftertaste. The roasted cauliflower was very flavorful. It was heavy on the sauce which was great and loved the crunch of the cashews. The tandoori chicken was my favorite. It was very juicy and tender chicken marinated well. The curly fires had a great masala seasoning. The yogurt based was my favorite to dip into. The staff were excellent with frequent check in and quick service. Overall, I highly recommend this place.

A Boston must-try, Neptune's is a tiny restaurant (like, 20-25 people max seating) that will very…read morelikely have a line when you arrive. Unless you wanna wait an hour or so, it's best to arrive 30min before they open to beat the rush. It's incredibly cramped and rushed inside, and you may need to share a table with others if you're a smaller party. Food is quite pricey but well worth it. We ordered the oysters (they've got a variety so you can choose), clam chowder, lobster roll, cioppino, and johnnycake. Oysters were fine, but the clam chowder was absolutely dismal. Not sure what happened, especially since it's so highly rated, but it was extremely watery and almost completely unseasoned. It could've definitely used salt at the very least. If I didn't know it was from Neptune, I'd have given it a 2/10. To my relief, the lobster roll was the total opposite. Succulent, juicy, heavenly. It was like being in Maine. The cioppino was also very good. The Johnnycake was an interesting but fun way to end the meal. It's a sweet pancake-like cornmeal covered in a syrupy glaze and topped with smoked bluefish paste, crème fraiche and caviar. I've never had anything like it. Nothing was super overpriced, but I personally prefer next door (Paulini's), which is much cheaper and while it isn't as good, it also doesn't require waiting in an hour in line. However, I think Neptune's is definitely worth a try as long as you're willing to wait in line.

I heard there was no line around 6pm that day. Other dishes ordered: Spanish octopus: it looked fabulous, but flavor profile was not my favorite. The sauce was very buttery/oily but lacked depth in flavor imo. It was greasy, mushy and bland at the same time. Octopus itself was pretty good. Lobster pasta: enjoyable overall but the lobster tasted rubbery/overcooked. It might be better if they just toss the lobsters in towards the end instead of cooking it so much. The lobster meat portion was very generous. Overall, I was not disappointed, but also I wasn't super impressed.
