I ate there November 1, 2020. The restaurant is charming and the menu looks great. The problem is the wate staff. Our order was totally wrong. My medium burger was medium well. My friend got meatballs instead of meatball spring rolls. After the food was delivered, nobody came to check on us. To her credit, she did remove the meatballs off the bill. The Little Goose, or as my brother likes to call it, The Too Little Goose, is a tiny spot on Commerce Ave near the Post Office. It's consistently packed, although I believe it seats a total of 12 people so not saying much. My husband and I went for Sunday brunch last weekend. We've been before but I feel they upped the decor a bit and the food was really good. We both had the eggs benedict. It came up in a google search for "best eggs benedict" in Fairfield, CT. The hollandaise was yummy, the egg was nicely poached and the sausage was also really good. It was served on a lemony waffle which was interesting but I thought one riff too many on a brunch classic. All-in-all cute place, food is excellent, server was charming. Will be back. read more

I set at the bar the first bartender took my wine order. 30 mint later I had to tell her I wanted to place and order, she told me to give her a few minutes while they transfer shifts, another 40 mint went buy and the blond bartender never even came to say hello or check on my almost empty glass of wine that I been sipping until some one came by, they had 3 guys at one end and me at the end. Know one came to check on me. At this Time I started to feel some type of way so I wanted my check and leave. Well the bartender was to busy with her 3 guest at the end. So finally a couple came sit near me, she already knew the drink order so after she serve them. And finished talking I ask her for my check. My check was about 10 dollars and change, I left her a tip of 10 dollars so maybe next time they Don't assume minorities can't pay or tip. I will never go back to this place. Such a great place. Family owned and operated. Small, but intimate. Always busy on a Thursday/Friday/Saturday night, call 15-30 minutes before you arrive and they may be able to put you on the list before you get there. I've ordered almost everything on the menu and have yet to be disappointed. Great options for food. Cocktail list is limited, but full bar if you want to order off menu for drinks. Varied selection for beers, but not overwhelming. A good selections of wine. Well priced for the portions you get. A great local spot that is frequented by "regulars." read more

I have been living in fairfield since 2009 but just went to little goose for the first time for brunch last weekend. It was AMAZING, I got the frittata without cheese because I'm lactose intolerant and it was so great and big! I had the frittata and 2 Sunday specials and left with paying around 25$ without tip. My fiance and I went to The Little Goose yesterday evening for a last-minute celebratory dinner. While parking wasn't great (ended up parking at the post office) everything else was amazing. The space itself is as others described - cozy, intimate and sort of rustic in terms of decor with lots of wood and exposed brick. It gets a bit loud but never to the point where you have to shout to be heard. Candles at every table and comfortable seating - it's a very warm and inviting place. A bit crowded but what can you expect when the food is so good? Arriving around 6:30pm we were seated straight away. The menu isn't huge but there are a lot of different kinds of food so you're sure to find something that'll hit the spot. And they also have daily specials which all sounded amazing as well. Ultimately we ended up splitting the meatball spring rolls (sound weird, are delicious), and I ordered from the specials menu: a beef wellington stew served upon house-made puff pastry (do you KNOW how difficult it is to make puff pastry?!), my fiance got the Jack Black Burger and we split the chocolate lava cake. Everything we ordered was delicious, came out at the right times. The appetizer was out within 15 minutes, then shortly after our meals came out hot and delicious. Despite being very full, we managed to split dessert - we ordered the chocolate lava cake, served with vanilla ice cream and whipped cream. It was love. For drinks, my fiance got an espresso martini which was delicious (i helped myself to a couple sips) and I got some wine - their beer / wine menu is limited but has enough of the basics for anyone to find something they'd like, and i'm sure the bartender can manage most cocktails, too. The service was fantastic. Our waiters name was Dylan - he was knowledgeable, personable and friendly without being stiff, and he checked on us throughout the meal. Brunch was nice with the garage doors open to let the sun and fresh air in but the tables are so close together that it's a little intimidating as whoever is next to you can hear everything you say. Very disappointing.. My original review was filled with excitement and hope for their tasty menu. However it appears that the Little Goose has turned into more of a local booze bar and the food has suffered. I brought my mother in law along with several visiting family members and was actually embarrassed by the food and service. Husband and I stopped in only because of other reviews we read. Food was very good. Not jaw dropping and I was surely not speechless. Empanadas were a bit overcooked but still tasty. Spring rolls were very flavorful. Salmon was just ok. Husband had the hangar steak. Was cooked correctly and he finished it so that was a plus. It is a small place so noise level was high. One of our favorite "neighborhood joints" to slip into after a movie on a Saturday night. Crowd is friendly (has to be for a small place!) and pretty much all over 30.. sound track is 80s and 90's so it feels like the perfect spot for "Baby Boomers" to go to along with their college-age children when they are home on break! Fish tacos are excellent, the French dip is up-and- down but usually quite good (I always order it.. ask for extra cheese!) and we recently tried their HOT and MOODY chips just for fun and they were OUT OF THIS WORLD great! Yelp raised my expectations to above-normal for this place. Had I not read reviews and just stumbled upon this spot I would have been pleasantly surprised. The outside doesn't seem like the environment that would put out the menu they had. But I'm giving three stars because the other two stars from some people are definitely hype. Firstly, parking is non-existent so that was a bummer. A colleague and I came at a late lunchtime (2pm) but the service was still slow. One server should be manageable for 12 tables in the place since it's very tiny/smushed seating Not sure if our server was new but I'm glad we didn't have questions about the menu because he seemed to lack confidence and attentiveness. Our food was very good. Very fresh. Our food came out piping hot and was delightful. I ordered my salmon medium and it came well done which was also a bummer. I hate over cooked fish. We had somewhere to be that afternoon so I didn't ask to fix another fish. Overall if I didn't read about how great this place was on Yelp I would have maybe given it 4 stars but for the price the food and service and atmosphere didn't match. First tried Little Goose on a restaurant week special earlier in the year and was pleasantly surprised. Have been back several times since and have always had an outstanding experience. Excellent wait staff all of whom are knowledgable, friendly and accessible. Every cocktail we've ordered has been perfectly balanced. Can't go wrong with anything you order, from salads to steak to fish to specials -- so tasty and portions are just right. This place is all about local ownership. Very quaint place that can probably fit 20-30 people max. My husband and I came here last Friday night around 9pm. There was no wait time at the bar so we sat all the way at the end by the TV/Kitchen. I normally hate establishments with TVs by the bar but it did not ruin the cozy atmosphere. The food was average. Not gourmet but good pub fare. We ordered the nachos and they were good. Came out in a cast iron looking dish which kept them hot. Loaded with Chili and jalapenos. And cheese. Obviously cheese! I will be back here with visiting friends and would love to try their brunch menu. I also ordered a margarita and it was delicious. read more
