I like this joint. They seem to be family operated. The food is terrific, not to expensive, and service is fast. We have been here on more than several occasions with friends that have children. The staff has always been wonderful in accommodating us even tho the place is small. I think what I like most is that they are unpretentious and the other diners are never obnoxious. read more

Stopped in for lunch, my first visit to Little Gus. I ordered a gyro, my friend ordered a club sandwich. My gyro was 6.99, surprisingly, fries will cost you an additional 2.50. My gyro tasted like spam wrapped in cardboard, swimming in ranch dressing. My friend didn't finish his club sandwich. This place might make a good breakfast, but don't order a gyro or club sandwich. Pricey and dishonest! I guess nowadays with the economy booming businesses think that they can act like 3rd world joints and get away with it! So their waffles are $6.99 and they mysteriosly added $1 to the bill. When questioned about the $1 inflation, we got the lamest reply ever! The waiter said that some kids came by yesterday and did not tip so they added $1 to the bill !!! REALLY. First of whoever did this must think of them as not worth more than $1 for tips! Secondly, this is very dishonest to say the least! This NEVER EVER happened to me anywhere before this! I almost never post any reviews of any place! Nice small breakfast place. We had a Spanish omlette and Belgium waffles which were really good . The chocolate cake is avoidable though.

Sunday is pretty much my only full day off, and I love sleeping in and getting breakfast.....or brunch...or lunch with my wife once we get up and around. I'm a big breakfast fan, so we finally made our way to Little Gus to try something different. I just found it to be average breakfast food, forgettable. It wasn't bad, just nothing special. I stumbled across this little gem while I was on my way to Sprouts Market. Although I am a vegetarian, I love Greek food and the "Gyro Lunch Special" sign caught my eye. I quickly found a lot of meat-free items on the menu for me to choose from. There were about 6 other tables and I think everyone was eating or ordering breakfast - apparently the waffles are amazing - but I decided on the falafel pita. It was crispy and creamy and a bit spicy...and more than enough for lunch! So delicious! The entire staff was friendly and accommodating, so they must have read the reviews on here and hired some new people :) I thought the prices were a bit high ($7 pita, $3 fries, $2 iced tea), but overall I was impressed and will definitely be back! read more

Moved fro No VA in March....the wife & I had a great breakfast spot in Sterling VA...Joe's Cafe...so now here in Plano we were looking for our replacement...FOUND IT!!!! Gus's is great....great service, food is well prepared, staff is over-the-top friendly...plus, even when they're cranking busy it's never much of a wait...and the best thing is, I can sub grits for potatoes...haven't tried other food but breakfast is a winner! read more

The question is what is Little Gus's Café? My answer is it is a diner, including an old school seated counter, with short order cooks quickly preparing your requests. And what makes this diner so special that some of his patrons have been visiting every weekend since it has been open? The complete menu: a list of omelets, breakfast tacos, hash browns (regular or crispy), sliced tomatoes, and consistently the best avocado. And the waffles, pancakes, gyro, sausage, chicken, falafel, dolmas, and made-fresh salsa. If the kitchen is capable, the wait staff will make it happen...This place has seen 100 lbs less of me as my eating style has change over the years and they have accommodated all of my "Specials". Little Gus' has a very proficient wait staff and Gus is willing to teach young people how to be a good server. During this time of training he instills in them the importance of his customers and this attitude shows with every coffee refill. Everything seems undercooked. My husband ordered eggs (fried) with gyro meat. The eggs were done, but barely. The Gyro meat is not a real. As another reviewer said, it is pressed meat that is flavored like a gyro. A real gyro is on a spit and cooked all day, then pieces are sliced off into a pita. I ordered the gyro sandwich. It was in a weird flat bread, not pita. My fries were undercooked, hot but not in the slightest crispy. Since moving to Dallas, I have been on the hunt for a real gyro and this is definitely not it. Little Guses café was amazing for me. There's so many great choices on the menu it was so hard to decide what I wanted! They have these amazing pan fries that are sort of like hash browns that are just sooo delicious. It's a perfect place for couples and family's to come together and eat! Sunday afternoon is humming at Gus's traditional diner with a Mediterranean twist. Since there were a few people waiting for tables , I opted to dine at the counter. Servers were friendly and kept my tea filled. Little Gus salad with added feta (xtra $0.99) hit the spot. On previous visits I've tried some of the Greek dishes and have been pleased every time.
