This place is definitely okay, it's a tiny breakfast joint. I was in the area and hungry and it did the job. I ordered a pretty standard breakfast with eggs and toast (hardly toasted tbh), maybe they specialize in something else. The concept is heavy self-service, you order at the counter and pick a table and wait for them to bring your food, then you grab all your silverware and sauce etc. The staff were very friendly so that was nice.

Grilled pork chop and eggs with grits and biscuits and gravy.

Great cafe food where you order counter side and serve yourself the coffee, drinks, condiments and flatware and paper napkins. The food and atmosphere makes you think you'd see waitresses greeting guests and refilling coffee cups but it's all sit and serve yourself. They do bring the hot food orders to your table and everything we ordered was delicious. The fresh cake slices at the counter looked very good and the lady taking money at the counter was very nice. A good breakfast at a good price.

Chorizo and eggs did not have cheese?? I thought that maybe it would sso I did not ask for it on the "extras" menu

This place can get VERY packed and busy on a weekend. The boyfriend and I have come here twice for breakfast/brunch. You order at the counter, and the food comes out pretty quick. My thing is that I don't like how I am always seeming to need to add more to my plate? Things that I feel have been sstandard in diners? -Grits don't come seasoned-- they were plain. I had to add hella salt and pepper. -The boyfriend had to add a lot of things to his huevos rancheros scrambled eggs-- cheese, onion, bell pepper, cheese.not come on scrambled eggs. Of course the extras are only .35/each, but it can add up?? At least they ask if you want corn/flour tortillas when getting a mexican inspired dish. The staff is friendly enough for being extremely busy and I liked all of the antique pictures and odds and ends around the dining room... Maybe we should come back and try a lunch or dinner menu item, but as far as I feel, this place is JUST OK. And it might be popular because the food comes out fast and people know it's an ordinary type of place?

Breakfast was very good and food came out fast. I've been meaning to try this place as I heard it was a good spot for breakfast. It was just as described and a nice break from places that try to be hip or cute just to fail in the food and service. I look forward to going back.

The Depot Cafe is owned and ran by The Francis family business. The oldest continuously run business in Frisco. The Depot is a treasure to long time residents of Frisco Texas and is a meeting place for locals to enjoy breakfast or lunch. The food is mostly southern comfort food, with cafe specials daily. Friday is pot roast and you won't find it better anywhere else. If it's not Friday I order the smaller catfish plate and it's really good. Lately it has been on the fishy side but it's still a favorite of mine. The service is always friendly because everyone that walks into the cafe is treated like family. So, if you're in Frisco to visit the STAR, take in a soccer game or shopping at IKEA don't miss having breakfast or lunch at this local treasure.

Had a bacon cheese burger with onion rings and it was so good. It wasn't greasy and cooked perfectly.

I pass by this places on a weekly basis and NEVER thought a thing about it. One day, Yelp sent out an email about brunch near me an as I was going through the list, the Depot popped up and low and behold....VEGAN OPTIONS. And not just one! Several options! Gluten free too! ((insert mind blown emoji here!)) Even my husband said "you wouldn't think a place like this would offer such options." hahahaha! However, they do and the french toast is amazing. Ever since I saw the pictures and reviews of it I knew that's what I needed. But when I got there and saw the menu and how inclusive it is for people with dietary restrictions, I will be going back to try their tacos and gluten free/vegan pancakes! My husband got their depot breakfast and mentioned how he didn't ask for gravy. Being Texas, pretty much every breakfast comes with a side of gravy down here lol. If you're ordering for a kid, the portion is going to be big so just one pancake will feed 2 hungry kiddos just fine. They have a hot station by the drinks which has a pretty decent line up all types hot sauce! The overall charm of this place is very much so "I'm a breakfast spot next to a gas station" but it also has a good amount of Frisco history in there to spark your interest. The customer service is also really awesome!

First of all, the decor is fun and well balanced both inside and outside. The lighting inside is on the moodier side, but besides making it hard to photograph the food it isn't much of an issue. If you have any eye problems it could cause you to have to strain to read the menu though. Their music choices are always fun and never played loudly so you can still hold a conversation comfortably. The staff has been very nice and helpful every time. On this occasion we opted to sit at the bar since we didn't have a reservation (highly encourage you get one ahead of time) and even though the bar staff was super busy they still were able to check on us an appropriate amount imo. Now, the serving of their salads is insane. I'm not complaining at all. This was my first time getting one (the Brussel sprout chop) so I was surprised when they set the plate in front of me lol I couldn't even dream of finishing my plate and took half of it home. It had great flavors and the combo of ingredients was fun. My friend got the Ceasar salad and it was also huge so she had to take a lot of it home as well. She really enjoyed it. I also got the Papa Don't Paloma mocktail and it was delicious. This place has truly become a go-to for me and many friends because of their consistency so you can bet I'll be back again!

The host confirmed the reservation right away and even sent me a confirmation text, followed by a reminder message the day before. This was a planned group reservation that was confirmed multiple times. On Tuesday when I made the reservation, I was also told it would be Bollywood and Tollywood night, which was one of the reasons our group chose this place. When we arrived, they were playing almost exclusively South Indian songs. We had to ask the live singer four times before he finally played a couple of Bollywood Hindi songs. This was disappointing because the music theme we were told to expect did not match what was actually happening. When we arrived, we were told our table was upstairs. I explained that our reservation was confirmed for downstairs by the DJ area. The host acknowledged that the downstairs table had been given to another party and claimed they tried calling me. I immediately took out my phone and asked when they called and whether they left a voicemail. There were zero missed calls and no voicemail. I asked multiple times and only received apologies. The reality is, no one called me, and our confirmed table was simply given away. We were then seated near the entrance with people constantly walking in and out. For a group our size, this was a poor seating choice and set the tone for the night. Service was extremely slow from the start. It took about 20 minutes just to get water. It took around 25 minutes for the server to take drink orders. At that point, I walked to the bar myself to order a drink because nothing was happening. About 35 minutes later, the server came back to take food orders. I ordered a single appetizer, cashew chicken. After one hour of waiting, I asked about it and was told it was getting ready. Another 30 minutes passed, still nothing. After roughly 1 hour and 45 minutes total, I was told the appetizer had been given to another table by mistake and that they could reorder it, but it would take another 30 minutes. This was for one appetizer, not even an entrée. Several people in our group had similar delays with both drinks and food. There was no real accountability. No manager came over to explain what happened. There was no attempt to comp anything or make the situation right. We were expected to accept slow service, multiple mistakes, and poor communication. To top it off, an 18 percent gratuity was added automatically despite the poor service, and the drinks were watered down. The entire group left disappointed. This was supposed to be a fun group night and turned into frustration. I would not recommend this place for group reservations, and we will not be returning.

Trying to move my wife off her Rainman-like creature of habit mentality brings a degree of risk. Thankfully, she didn't feel like fighting me. And she will be the first to admit that she was glad I "forced" her into something new. The deviled eggs were well liked. The entrees for our group included the herb roasted chicken, burger, nachos, and prime rib. For the record, any time I see prime rib on a menu I order it just to see if I'll ever return to that restaurant. Needless to say, it was prepared exactly to specification, with a perfect balance of tenderness coupled with the au jus sauce. My wife, having sampled every plate on the table, couldn't stop raving about the overall quality of every entree. Needless to say, I now have a new "safe" restaurant to add to our repertoire. I hate to add it as a side note, but the service was spot-on and our waitress was a perfect blend of attentive without being disruptive. If I lived in Frisco, WB's would be our local go-to spot. The menu is simple and delicious and the perfect example of knowing exactly what you want to deliver and executing it perfectly. My Overall Rating - 5 Stars (Atmosphere, Service, Food, Return) Atmosphere - Located in Frisco, Dad Jokes Cheesyburger is worth the drive from Dallas County. The restaurant's indoor seating is very small, but the outdoor seating when the weather is nice (March or October) adds to the laid-back vibe that caters to everyone from families to hardcore burger lovers. 1 Star. Service - This is counter service with a smile! The staff will take your order, you get your own drinks, and when your name is called your food is ready. On my visit I got to meet the great Clayton (owner/proprietor/dad joke expert). He was super nice, told me a dad joke, and he is a great follow on Instagram. 1 Star. Food - Dad Jokes Cheesyburger caught my attention because of the OK Burger. This popular burger smashes onions directly into the patty. I made mine a double and was rewarded with a big, juicy, beefy bite with onion flavors that complemented (not over-powered) the bite. I paired with the Smoked Tots. These super crunchy and tasty tots are paired with chili, chives, and smokey BBQ sauce. It's hard to top tots - unless you top it with chili. It was less of a side or more of a hearty side dish - a perfect complement to my OK Burger. 2 Stars. Will I Return? - Yes. I heard about the OK Burger and made the 40-minute drive from Irving-Las Colinas to Frisco. Not only would I repeat the drive, but I would also invite my friends to join me and for some tasty bites and jokes. I hope they don't get EXHAUSTED. 1 Star.
