We have eaten a many places in Frisco but not this local restaurant. Featured on public TV 'The Daytripper' Worth a visit sooner than later. You come for the big portions with friends and family not so much the atmosphere.

This place is definitely okay, it's a tiny breakfast joint. I was in the area and hungry and it did the job. I ordered a pretty standard breakfast with eggs and toast (hardly toasted tbh), maybe they specialize in something else. The concept is heavy self-service, you order at the counter and pick a table and wait for them to bring your food, then you grab all your silverware and sauce etc. The staff were very friendly so that was nice.

Great cafe food where you order counter side and serve yourself the coffee, drinks, condiments and flatware and paper napkins. The food and atmosphere makes you think you'd see waitresses greeting guests and refilling coffee cups but it's all sit and serve yourself. They do bring the hot food orders to your table and everything we ordered was delicious. The fresh cake slices at the counter looked very good and the lady taking money at the counter was very nice. A good breakfast at a good price.

Chorizo and eggs did not have cheese?? I thought that maybe it would sso I did not ask for it on the "extras" menu

This place can get VERY packed and busy on a weekend. The boyfriend and I have come here twice for breakfast/brunch. You order at the counter, and the food comes out pretty quick. My thing is that I don't like how I am always seeming to need to add more to my plate? Things that I feel have been sstandard in diners? -Grits don't come seasoned-- they were plain. I had to add hella salt and pepper. -The boyfriend had to add a lot of things to his huevos rancheros scrambled eggs-- cheese, onion, bell pepper, cheese.not come on scrambled eggs. Of course the extras are only .35/each, but it can add up?? At least they ask if you want corn/flour tortillas when getting a mexican inspired dish. The staff is friendly enough for being extremely busy and I liked all of the antique pictures and odds and ends around the dining room... Maybe we should come back and try a lunch or dinner menu item, but as far as I feel, this place is JUST OK. And it might be popular because the food comes out fast and people know it's an ordinary type of place?

Breakfast was very good and food came out fast. I've been meaning to try this place as I heard it was a good spot for breakfast. It was just as described and a nice break from places that try to be hip or cute just to fail in the food and service. I look forward to going back.

Had a bacon cheese burger with onion rings and it was so good. It wasn't greasy and cooked perfectly.

We went in on a Sunday afternoon so it was not too busy at the time. My girlfriend and I like to be seated at a "low top" because she has back issues with climbing up into higher seating. We don't mind waiting for that as inside "low tops" are limited. The hostess was very nice, as they always are. She took us to the middle of the venue to seat us and then walked away while we were waiting on our server. I stood up to walk around the table so that I could sit next to her instead of across from her. She stood up to move over and pulled out the chair next to her so she could sit back down. At that moment the new general manager walked up, and without offering any explaination, took the chair out of my girlfriend's hand and said, "We need this table for another party." He walked away and left us standing there without offering us another solution, and apology or calling the hostess over to seat us elsewhere. We were left standing there dumbfounded and looking around unsure of what to do. We started walking back toward the front of the venue as we spotted another open "low top" near there. At that same time the female hostess saw what had happened to us, and she started to walk toward us. Meanwhile, another male server - acting as host - seated some people at the new table we were about to get to with the hostess. We got mad and said, "it feels like someone is playing a game on us!" The hostess apologized as she could see we were aggitated. It was not her fault, and we do not blame her. We blame the rudeness of the general manager. We left to go eat somewhere else. This is not the first incident with this general manager, though. A few days prior, we were eating in there and had a good vantage point of one of the side kitchen entries off to the left of the bar toward the ffront half of the venue. A bus boy sloshed water all over the floor while moving wet dishes in a container back into the kitchen. He didn't have a chance to clean it up because he was buy walking back and forth doing other things. No big deal. The general manager walks up and proceeds to yell at another female server about the water who had absolutely nothing to do with the spill After she walks away, he did not take any real care to clean the spot up himself. He comes back after a minute to clean it up but not with a mop or anything. He takes two towels off the bar and mushes it around on the floor with his foot. He , then, proceeds to kick the wet towels under the bar before walking away. Talk about a safety and hygene issue. This kind of left a bad taste in our mouth. He does not treat his venue or his staff very nicely. We wantedd to get up and tell the other female server that we were sorry for her. This venue would be great if they would fire this rude and sloppy general manager. It's a shame because this used to be one of our favorite venues to go to all the time. The experience is starting to feel cheapened and sullied now.

I have visited this location about four times and have previously had a positive experience. I like the seating layout, and as someone dining alone, I usually sit at the bar. The food has been consistent, and the service has usually been very good. Today, as usual, I was seated at the counter. After waiting without being acknowledged, I went to the hostess stand and explained that I had been waiting. She immediately took my order, and I returned to the bar. Shortly after that, another couple arrived and was seated. A waitress immediately brought water to them, this appeared to be the same waitress who had walked past me several times without acknowledging me. I was surprised and went back to the hostess stand to explain what had occurred. The hostess told me my order would be ready soon and asked whether I wanted to take it with me. I did not want to take it with me. I had planned to eat there before an appointment, but because of the delay, I no longer had time to eat. My question is simple: why wasn't I waited on? I would appreciate an explanation and acknowledgment from management about why I was ignored for approximately 10-15 minutes while other guests received service.

Going in there was live music and prompt wait staff. Our waitress had a great attentiveness, and passed my water refill test with flying colors. Felt like a hole in the wall joint, and I can honestly say I was a bit skeptical when I saw the expansive menu that seemed to have everything. Boy was I in for a treat. We were hungry so we ended up ordering quite a bit, and every bite was excellent. Rarely does a place standout with ever dish. + Mahi ceviche was fresh and excellent + Cobb salad with chicken had a perfect amount of blue cheese and dressing + Redfish and grits blew my mind. Is was SPICY which I loved. Honestly I'll be dreaming about that one... + Salmon and orzo was fantastic as well. Perfect crispy outside but tender flakey inside. + Kids Mac and cheese was even fancy and great I will note that prices are a bit high but you get large portions, and frankly the quality was exquisite. Hadn't been to Didi's in quite a while and was craving a burger. I had had enough of nearly everything within a 3 mile radius and remembered that Didi's used to have good food. Holy, the burger was Exactly what I was looking for. Not some box of patties, but actually a hamburger made like an actual restaurant should make. Made there in the kitchen with a blend of meats (I asked the waitress after I finished). And I can't STAND all the garbage fries served as nothing but cheap calorie fillers so I tried the elote (corn). Ordered the elote corn here and omg, I literally could not have cooked it better myself. And I've tried to nail a taste like this. I'm sure this sounds contrived. But i have no dog in this hunt, just noting that this is how a restaurant is supposed to deliver and it did. Very refreshing, will be back next week.
