My friend and I on the way to work always pass this place and one terrible day of traffic we decided to finally stop and check this place out. It is in a decent area with ample parking. The selection of treats is unlimited and special. While they don't carry your traditional cookie, chocolate croissant or cake pop, Little Jaye makes you forget those staples by producing giant cereal treats and specialty cookies and fun cake loaves. I had no preconceived notions since I have not dined at Lady Jaye in West Seattle or tried the Little Jaye pop ups ever. I did venture to the grand opening to Little Jaye in South Park five months ago, only to find that there was absolutely not a crumb left. They were cleaned out of baked goods in the early afternoon. That left me a bit disappointed, but never tried it so really not missing anything I guessed. Well newly minted Yelp Elite and fellow Shoreline resident, Carol C. convinced me that it is so worth the return trip. So sure of her recommendation, she put it on the calendar six weeks ahead. Sure hope so, since the appointed day was an early Saturday morning. After a long work week and raining, all I wanted to do is sleep in. Nope time to check out Little Jaye and made the trek from Shoreline to South Park to meet her there. This indie cafe opens at 7am and by 830am, it was hopping. Thankfully, Carol arrived ahead of me and had saved two seats at the community shared table by the entrance. There's also two seater high tops along one wall and some awning covered outdoor seating by the parking lot. Immediately upon entering, one is faced with such tough decisions. All sorts of rice krispy treats, muffins, cookies, biscuits, cakes, etc all nicely stacked and presented. It would be easy to just say take my debit card and give me one of each, but that's in culinary fantasy world, lol. It was also great to see the actual production kitchen and take in the overall aesthetic. Love the mural of Bob Ross, Dolly Parton and Anthony Bourdain. For takeout to share later with The Homie, I selected a bourbon brown butter rice krispy treat, buttermilk pecan cake, lemon loaf, and chocolate espresso bundt cake. To have onsite, a much needed 16oz mocha and shared with Carol, the signature breakfast sandwich, Smashwich, and the biscuits and gravy. Such perfectly cooked overeasy eggs, yes a total cliche, but IG photo worthy. Items are generously sized and easily shareable. Great time spent with good convo and thoroughly enjoying our meal. I can totally understand the volumes that are willing to line up to dine onsite or for takeout. The well stocked pastry case was much lower by the time we left 2.5 hours later. I loved that the product line was unassuming and not flashy. But omg - the freshness, the textures, and flavors are so on point and will dazzle your palate and senses! A worthy dining detour for food and beverages that will leave you absolutely satisfied, but hours later wanting more. The breakfast and lunch menu items are all equally enticing. After seeing that Lady Jaye wasnt advertising pastries on the weekend, the spouse and is wing by LITTLE Jaye on our way to the farmers market. It's tucked away in an odd little industrial area, but the clapboard signals you and they have a nice little covered outdoor patio. The pastries all looked amazing but I had to try one of their cream filled doughnuts, and both of us got the smashwich for a late brekkie. The cream filled doughnut was a bit oily- I got vanilla, and it tasted like they whipped the cream a bit too far, and it was turning to butter. It wasn't overly sweet, which was nice, but the oily buttery texture, on top of a dry-ish, unsweetened roll (or doughnut if you will) was a huge let down compared to the visual. The smashwich flavor was great. The hashbrown maintained some crunch, and the sausage wasnt overly seasoned. However, the ratio was hugely off, with a tiny sausage, a medium hash, and a MASSIVE bun. Great salted caramel latte and the baked goods are so good. Monkey bread is my favorite but the service is at an all time low. Usually it's ignorable but tofus was the final straw, There was woman who has severed me before and when I first had an encounter with her I ignored her attitude but today was rude. She has glasses, tattoos on her arms and blond hair streaks or highlights. I was there long enough to hear her name was Lisa I believe I will not be coming back again, because it's just too much. This is the happiest place to be on a Saturday morning! Headed to the south end to run a car errand, we stopped at LJS before 9 am and were greeted with a full case of sweets and savories! I've been here a handful of times and have not been disappointed. The staff are friendly and working efficiently to fill everyone's orders and coffee drinks. The food comes out quickly. LJS is tucked away in an industrial park situation and a little out of the way to get to, but so worth the trek every time. Every. Time. Now onto the food: I love, love, love their biscuits! I lean towards the savory biscuits, which are flakey and buttery. Be sure to try the biscuits & gravy, ham & cheese and bacon jam. I've stopped by for happy hour from 2-3pm and stocked up on the ham & cheese biscuit because it toasts up nicely in the AF. We also had the andouille sausage and caramelized onion bread pudding, which was piping hot and tasty. The bread puddings - sweet & savory - are only available on Saturdays. Sweets are equally good! On this trip, we sampled the s'mores bar, which had a nice proportion of Marshmallow and butter to the cereal mix. The cookies are huge and delicious, baked well - crispy on the outside and chewy on the inside. They have ample seating inside and a covered area outside. Stopped here on a Saturday around 9:45 and there was a line. Always a good sign. Small cafe with about 6-8 tables inside and more seating outside. Soon as you walk in you're met with all their pastry options. We tried the fruity pebbles and the ruffles "rice krispy treats". Along with a ham and cheddar biscuit. We each had their smashwich breakfast sandwich (sausage egg and cheese on a roll with spicy mayo) and I had their Cinnamon Toast Crunch "killer milk" latte and my partner had the peppermint latte. First the pastry's. All were very good, especially liked the ruffles treat because the salty potato chip worked well with the marshmallow. The biscuit was surprisingly moist. The smashwich though... SO GOOD. My partner, she's not much for proteins, I was shocked she ordered it instead of their veggie option, but we both loved it, definitely a top 5 breakfast sandwich in WA for me. Also I can eat, but ONE of these took me out. Loved that. The cereal milk lattes are such a killer idea. Just wish the flavor was stronger. My partner said the same about her peppermint latte. It was ok, just would have been better with stronger peppermint flavor. Maybe eat here and have your coffee elsewhere? **April 2024: Tuesday Late Morning** My friend and I were driving out of the city and towards Renton and wanted something some tasty treats. Little Jaye caught my eye and their Instagram had some interesting flavor combinations and pastry items (particularly the shokupan doughnuts) so we decided to head there before starting our shopping spree. We arrived around 9:30ish am and there were many pastries to choose from. The setting is kind of an exposed commercial kitchen setup and you can see the workers make everything. At the back of the wall they have a large painting of Dolly Parton and Anthony Bourdain posed just like the famous farmer painting (American Gothic). My friend and I decided on a couple of items to try *Smashwich - Smashed house sausage patty, crispy hash brown, sunnyside up egg, American cheese, on a Roll - This was good, but nothing out of the ordinary. I kind of wished it had arugula or some veggies to balance out all the heavy ingrediants. *Jack Mountain Ham & Cheddar Biscuit - I think this is suppose to be served room temperature, but I asked if they could heat it up for me and they happily obligated. It definitely tastes better heat up! *Vanilla Cream Shokupan Doughnuts: This was my favorite among everything we tried and I can understand why these sell out quickly. The cream inside is really light and somehow it gave me that not too sweet japanese pastry taste/feel to it. I'd get this again. *Amman Toast: I'm not sure what this was called since it didn't have a label on it, but I didn't' care for it. Not bad, just not for me The one thing I sort of wished I got to try was the ruffles krispy treats, so the next time I'm back I'll want to try that! An absolute gem of a bakery and more (sandwiches!) that is better than some over hyped and pricier bakeries in Seattle. I go out of my way on some weekends to drive over to West Seattle just for this place. Have had the pecan cake, blondie, kouign amann loaf, miso cookie, choco nib cookie, and smores krispie. So far, the smories krispie and miso cookie have been my absolute favorites (even better than their popular choco nib cookie). The sandwiches are great too, but pricey. If it weren't for the sugar overload I get everytime I visit, I'd also give their sweet coffee drinks (including cereal milk lattes) a try. One of these days! Chef's kiss, this place is wonderful. Upon entering you are greeted with a wide array of tasty baked goods from scones to brownies and other treats. Had to get one of their large delicious cookies (cocoa nibs chocolate chip) for later though I came for the breakfast sandwich. Ordered the smashwich, which has to been one of the best breakfast sandwich in Seattle. Nestled two the fluffy toasted roll is sausage and crispy hashbrown top with a running egg that oozes liquid gold mixing with the aioli for such a satisfying bite. you know how there are buildings that change hands and regardless of what goes in, establishment after establishment, it always feels like maybe it's secretly cursed because nothing seems to be successful or stay for the long haul? well i wanna say the opposite is true for this place! you may remember that there was a super tasty cafe in this same spot on the western edge of south park years ago, very pre-covid. they made great food and drinks and it was almost a little known secret because the owner who i think was swiss (?) had a primary business in the heart of downtown, maybe westlake? well it closed and to my knowledge didn't reopen anywhere that was on my radar. now lady jaye has spun its magic here, in the same corner part of the business park building, calling it little jaye and you need to get here fast! on a holiday, before 9am there were already people in line but thankfully the pastry case was chock full and there's a lunch menu too! this building appears to be devoid of curses, unless it's you cursing yourself for not finding an excuse to veer this direction to give little jaye a try. there's multiple chocolate options, some nods to childhood (rice krispie treats, adultified, and in different flavors,) some savory biscuits and a couple of different breakfast sammie's made to order and appearing on the trifold paper menus that are available at the entrance. i'm not one to usually go for children's cereal from the past but i got influenced by the order being placed in front of me and replicated it by choosing the fruity pebble rice krispie brick. it is A BRICK! but it's so delightful looking i bet few are able to resist. i also got a plain savory biscuit because i needed to test out the non sugary items. the oat milk chai i got was tasty as well. i'm making the promise to myself to try out lunch on a different day but if this first go round is any indication, this incarnation of the building is another sure winner! read more

Little Jaye is so good! It's in kind of a random location that feels very business-y but it's cute inside! They had a bit of a line when I got there Saturday morning around 11am, but their pastry case was still stocked! We got the biscuit with blackberry jam and the breakfast sandwich. They said the sandwiches would take 30-35 minutes but I'd say it only took around 15-20 so don't be too discouraged by the wait! The biscuit was really good although not crumbly if that's the type of biscuit you're looking for, and the sandwiches were awesome. I love a hash brown, and the one in the sandwich was perfectly crispy. The sandwich is huge so I definitely had to smash it down to eat it, but it was so good! Oh yeah, this is what South Park needed! Amazing pastries, coffee and breakfast/ lunch sandwiches in an adorable shop with excellent counter service. I knew I wanted to visit before they opened, because their big sister, Lady Jaye, is one of the best restaurants in West Seattle. I brought the spouse as a treat for chauffeuring me to a morning appointment. He was very excited when he saw their glorious pastry case, and we both loved the Parton/Bourdain "American Gothic" mural (with Bob Ross in the corner!). We got a bunch of goodies and settled in to the bustling cafe. They also have a surprisingly sweet outdoor seating area (you almost forgot you are in a business park on Cloverdale). We tried sweet and savory biscuits, a coconut cookie and a decadent Amann Toast, which I think was made with Japanese milk bread. It had an amazing caramel crunchy top. Ham and cheddar biscuits always have my heart! The word seems to be out on Little Jaye, given how busy it was on a mid morn Tuesday, so I hope that means all good things for this cafe to stick around. read more

Was easy to locate the door due to the line of people waiting in front. However line moved decently fast. Ordered Smashwhich, Ham, egg, cheese sandwich. Additionally we ordered a Matcha filled donut and a buttermilk pecan cake. We manage to catch some folks rising up from one of the row of packed high table seats along the wall.
