As of late, my family and I frequent this restaurant. For the most part, we usually go during breakfast, but occasionally will get lunch. Needless to say, every time that we've eaten here, or had drinks/lunch on the bar side, the food is great! I will usually order the red menudo (fri-sun) or the chilaquiles, and both are absolutely amazing. My wife will normally get the red tamales. Only one item that needs some attention: on at least two occasions, my wife has found bones in her tamales. Easy to pick out, but definitely don't want to accidentally break a tooth! The service has always been decent, but the servers are much better on the restaurant side. Two thumbs up for Little Mexico (Valencia). Happy eating, my foodies read more

The atmosphere is very much a steakhouse atmosphere (smells like mesquite and is a bit dark), when you walk in, to the left is the restaurant and to the right is the bar. We were seated immediately (5pm on a Saturday), it was busy but not overly busy. The staff was nice and helpful, our waitress Dulce was so nice and attentive. I had the chicken fajitas with rice and beans, it was delicious. The rice and beans were SO good. I wish the tortilla was different for myself, it's one large thin tortilla that you have to tear pieces off of and it dries out pretty quickly when left open to the air, I'm more a fan of smaller multiple tortillas. My husband had the Queen ribeye with salad and baked potato and it was delicious as well. They make their ranch homemade (so good!). We preferred their creamy guacamole over their regular guac, the creamy has a much better flavor and it's spicier as everything is blended together. Our kids split an order of chicken tenders and fries and those were good as well. Definitely plan on going again! read more

Cashier was rude, said she was going to get a table clean for us, then came back she didn't take us to our table instead had a full on conversation with the cashier. She finally took us to our table and the table was filthy!! We asked another waiter to clean it us and he said and I quote " we'll move to the other table!!" Have passed this place several times over past couple years while visiting Family in Tucson. The parking lot is always packed so we gave it shot without looking at Yelp. Glad we did as I am not sure how it got the rating it has, my wife and I both agree that this was some of the best Mexican food we have had. Despite being middle of afternoon on a Sat we had to circle twice to find a parking spot, the lot was packed. Not the most desirable surroundings around the lot, groups of people hanging out around the lot behind gas-station, but no interaction. Two sides to the place - Bar & Restaurant, Bar side was packed & a little loud for us, waitress directed us to the other side. We only had to wait a couple minutes for a table, hostess was friendly and we had drinks & Chips/Salsa almost immediately. Chris our waiter was helpful & friendly, I asked for suggestions, he offered some, I took his advice and glad I did - The Combo was amazing, had a little of everything- served hot and fresh. I love cheese and this thing was loaded. Everything on my plate was DELICIOUS !!! Wife loved her Chimichanga combo, we both were very happy with the portions and took enough home for a late supper if needed or as Chris suggested breakfast, the tamale with an egg tomorrow sounds like a plan. The service was spot-on, never needed to wait long on anything we asked for, Chris was all over it. Late lunch was around $44 for two, water for wife, peach tea for me (probably can skip the tea) I was thinking Olive Garden peach tea (no)-LOL. The tea was the only disappointment. We started with chips with creama & dip. Their menu is good sized with nice options. The chimichanga was part of combo. It comes with beans & rice. It is about 12 ounces & leaves little room in plate. I'm sicker for chili rellenos, & added one but could have forgot about it. Chimi with red sauce had bit of heat as aftertaste. Bad news - 8 of us arrived by 10 minutes before reservation but we had to wait until "entire party" was there. Our table was ready but we still had to wait in the hall. I asked the hostess "why can we not be seated?" She said that's what the manager said. So...I asked the manager. "Why can we not be seated and start ordering drinks?". "That's our policy, entire party has to be here". Really, that's your answer? No common sense or customer service. I decided, because the posole was so good, to try Little Mexico again. I went with friends, and was a bit skeptical of trying the place but they like Little Mexico so we went. I really thought I'd hear from the Manager/owner of the place, with them wanting to make things right. After all, all 3 of us had HUGE bones in our take-out posole containers. But no word from them, Any way, we went in and as usual, the place was busy. It was Friday so no posole but they do have red menudo on Fridays and the weekend. As usual, chips and salsa (spicy) were on the table when we sat down. Friends ordered the cheese enchiladas lunch special. I ordered the red menudo, thinking they wouldn't put a bone in the soup when eating it in the restaurant. Our service was excellent. The server was very busy but pleasant and attentive. Our lunches arrived pretty quickly. I was asked if I wanted some chiltepin to spice up the menudo and I did. The menudo was really good! The broth had that back-of-the-throat heat that I love. Lots of tripe. The lemon, cilantro and green onions (served on the side) made it perfect. I'll go back on a Thursday to get some posole. If I get take out, I'll check the container before i leave to ensure there's no knuckle bone in it. All in all, Little Mexico does a great job with their soups. My husband had the T-bone Steak and it was served with Potatoes, never touched the potatoes since the Steak was so big and delicious. Rice and beans taste really good just like my moms. Waiters are very attentive even if you sit way at the back. The branding on the walls is different and you get busy reading all the initials on the wall, pretty cool. I like the atmosphere of this place. In my experience (with groups of 5-7) the service has been average. My issue is with the salty meat. Lay off the salt, people. I couldn't even eat the beef chimichanga. I don't complain and gave it to my husband to eat and he wouldn't even eat it. He eats anything. That's saying something. read more

Neither of the two Salsas were seasoned, food was not seasoned. Soda tasted like soap. Sampler appetizers were closer to burnt, not toasted. Ladies at checkout were rude. Best Carne Seca in town , Hands down in my vote. Its dry dry dry i hate ordering carne seca and its wet & juicy , so i am saying its the best . I had it in a chimichanga . The rice and beans were really good as well. We went on a Monday it was pretty dead . My moms birthday was the occasion so after dinner they offered us a free fruit chimi , it was a pretty good decent size for being free ! All i gotta say is try that carne seca !!! read more
