Terrific yellow curry, and vegetables, salad, & egg roll all inclusive
    Brent M.

Best lunch deal in Berkeley, complete lunch with salad, entrée, rice , & egg-roll, last time I went it was $16.00! Charming interior design, and wonderful staff. Cold beers are available with a nice glass. I frequent this spot and love the yellow curry vegetarian style or the ginger vegetables with cashews. Served with jasmine rice, or a small up charge for brown rice. The background music is ambient, elevator jazz music, which at times is a bit annoying. But much better than classic rock blaring at you. A must if you end up in Berkeley for lunch, dinner, takeout or delivery! And I know you'll agree and thank me......

The restaurant is so adorable inside! Even though it was busy, the staff was super attentive and friendly the entire time. We tried the Restaurant Week sampler plates, which were such a fun way to explore a variety of dishes. Everything was incredibly fresh, vibrant, and tasty. My standouts were the papaya salad, green curry tofu, pad see ew, and pad thai! Every dish was flavorful with the perfect hint of spices. The drinks were refreshing and beautifully presented. We ended the night with mango sticky rice, which was so delicious - it had a crunchy topping sprinkled on top that added a really nice texture! Overall, this place exceeded expectations in every way. Delicious food, amazing service, and such a welcoming atmosphere. We will 100% be back!

I've been exploring Berkeley more for food and i came here during Restaurant Week. The interior is nicely decorated with hanging flowers and lights. Service was quick. Food was amazing, each plate being a shareable size as your typical Thai restaurant. I definitely recommend the Mussamun Curry. Their plant based curry is also good, but has a strong kick to it, even on a mild. Overall, all items were enjoyable.

We stopped here for a quick dinner after walking through downtown Berkeley. We got there around 5pm, so the restaurant was still empty since it just opened. By the time we finished, there were still some tables open but it definitely started to fill up by 6pm. We got the yam fries to start, and shared both the beef pad see ew and crab fried rice. The yam fries were super crispy, but also so light and tasty. Loved them! The beef pad see ew was cooked perfectly and rivaled some of the better pad see ew's I've had. The crab fried rice, however, was just decent. I wasn't a huge fan of the warm rice and cold crab combo. I think this would be a huge hit if it was served in a hot clay pot instead to let the bottom get nice and crispy. Just my personal preference though. Overall, still really enjoyed the food and ambiance. Would definitely come back if I'm in the area.

    Lovely, relaxing atmosphere.

The food is so fresh and delicious that I couldn't get any pictures! We were all so taken aback by the aromas rising from our plates that everyone just fell silent and started digging in. I could hear the sound of approval in between bites and sips. Service was friendly and prompt. The high ceilings and decor gave the place a freshness, like a pristine glass of water. Everything was wonderful.

Flavor (5/5): Not a lot of places do pumpkin curry and it's an absolute favorite of mine. When I saw they had it on their menu I had to order it, and it hit every craving I had for it. It was loaded with protein of your choice and lots of veggies. Highly recommend! Instagram Worthy (5/5): I didn't expect this place to be so cute from Yelp but when I walked in I was surprised! They went hard on their Halloween decor and the food presentation was chefs kisses! Service (4/5): We got seated quickly and ordered and got our food in a timely manner! Food came out piping hot and the portion sizes were crazy! Takeaways: Lunch special is such a great deal, portion sizes aren't cut down and you get a free eggroll with your plate! The brunch spot down the road was 1.5 hour wait so we stumbled into this place instead and I'm so glad we did. Little hole in the wall, I would definitely come back!

Enjoyed my dining experience! Thai food is good but finding a good restaurant that serves a variety is tough. Came here with family celebration of a birthday. I like the holiday decorations and festive feels. The restaurant is a good size for seating but I suggest making reservations because this place became packed and waiting time became long after we were seated. Arrived around 4 pm on a Sunday. Service was professional and waitress was nice and knowledgeable. The staff knew how to serve well. We had a big group but each of our entrees came out at a decent time. Also the portions were generous. I thought the Thai ice tea lemonade was good and something new to try. Highly recommend and would come again!

i drove an hour across the bridge from the peninsula just to try little plearn thai kitchen after seeing this restaurant all over my tiktok feed and it was so worth it! the restaurant was poppin' on a friday night, maybe because it was berkeley restaurant week and students returned from spring break. fun fact: this restaurant is family-run, on its 3rd generation working hard to preserve the roots of thai culture started by the grandmother/ founder of this restaurant (Plearn is her name)! They've done a great job putting in effort to keep this restaurant innovative and fresh down to its indoor decorations and dish presentation appealing to aesthetic and trends while still preserving the authentic taste of the food. they shop for their fresh produce, meat, and noodles every morning while still making everything homemade like their curry. every dish is PACKED with flavor and extremely flavorful. you could definitely tell all the dishes served take so much time to make and are made with love by the kitchen. show-stopping must-order dishes: green curry: i will dream about the taste of this curry!! wow. perfect spice. papaya salad: the spice paired with the freshness and texture to this dish was exquisite. perfect crunch and soaked in flavor. basil - thai sweet basil pork, zucchini, green bean, bamboo, red chili & chili: such a comfort dish filled with so much flavor. eggplant: vegetables were cooked perfectly and fresh. felt healthy and full of flavor. beef pad see ew: noodles were so fresh they also have this housemade chili sauce that was so bomb and i was dipping everything in it. dishes were reasonably priced, especially in this economy and is so considerate for the students in the area. the workers were so kind, attentive and quick to serve and cater to their customers as if they were welcoming everyone into their home. i had a wonderful and meaningful experience dining here.

This place came highly recommended by a fellow foodie who's recommendations I really trust! She explained the family history and authenticity behind the food and I told myself I had to try it asap. The restaurant is quaint and charming. They even had Christmas decor up adding to the already charming atmosphere. We tried the pad Thai of course, it was delicious. We added crab, cause why not and prawns. Unfortunately the fish only came with two fairly small prawns. That was a little disappointing, but no points deducted for taste. The food was excellent. We also tried the duck over rice and I thought it was very good. The duck was nicely cooked and came with a tasty sauce. Service was very attentive, constantly making sure our table was clean, waters were full. It was really nice. All in all we had a great time and we'll definitely be back!

I felt like I was in Thailand. The food was fantastic. Chicken pad Thai was just like I was in Bangkok . The staff are very friendly and fast service. You will be very pleased. I felt very welcome here - you can park out front and the menu is on the window. It has nice seating and plenty of room for 4. Every seat is a good seat . Everything on the menu is a win. I got the lunch special. With a Thai iced tea. I will be back . And I hope you will too.

We ordered a few things togo and had a great experience. The server was super friendly, and even though it wasn't quite dinner time yet, the place had a steady flow of people. The food took about 20 minutes, and everything was still warm and fresh when we ate them about 30 mins later. Portions were solid for the price. We got the shrimp pad thai, chicken pad see ew, and potstickers. Everything tasted great! The pad see ew could've used a little more seasoning, but still good overall. Would come back again!

We found the perfect Valentine's Day date @Little Plearn Thai but honestly? Delicious all year round Little Plearn Thai has been on our list since last year since we love festive restaurants, but what really impressed us is that the food is just as good as how pretty the space is What we ordered: Fresh Spring Rolls, Curry Puff, Pad Thai (SO fresh best Pad Thai I've had in the Bay, no debate), Panang Nua, Basil pork, Thai Yaki Soba, Duck Over Rice, Moo Dang & Crispy Pork Over Rice. They also have a limited Valentine's drink menu We can taste how fresh everything is. Hearing the story behind the restaurant made it even more special The owner's grandmother started the business and STILL personally picks the fresh ingredients at the store. That kind of care shows in every bite. #foodie #bayarea #valentinesday #datenight #thaifood

my first experience wasn't great. the food lacked flavor. we tried the basil and the pad thai. both dishes were bland. i love pad thai typically and everywhere i go, it has always tasted similar with a nice tang but this one really just tasted like nothing? i didn't plan on coming back but was passing by and had some doordash credits to spend. out of convenience, i tried their crispy pork for takeout and it was actually really delicious. i would easily come back for this dish. the sauce it's paired with enhances the flavor nicely. the crunch of the skin and the softness of the meat creates a nice texture balance. the cucumbers were so sweet as well. perhaps the first time was an off day, or maybe those specific dishes aren't as great anyway. either way, i'm glad i ended up coming back because i really loved the pork

Walked around the University area and wanted something I haven't tried before. Finally I stumbled onto Noodle Dynasty. Never had fresh pulled noodles before and plus the atmosphere was welcoming. I ordered through a tablet where I ordered and paid first. Refreshments were a plenty with my own pitcher of water! I ordered the house special noodles with bone ribs, spicy, and also the cucumber salad. Both were amazing!! The cucumber was worth the $7.99 since they use large portions of high quality cucumbers. The broth of the noodle soup was amazing also! Never, have I had Chinese inspired noodle soups like this before. It was rich and deep with flavor. The dried peppers and the nuts gave it a good texture and you can taste the freshness of the noodles. The bone on Ribs were so tender and they gave a generous amount. So perfect! All in all, I totally recommend this spot! I don't know any spot in the San Joaquin county that even comes close to this. Great job!

The corn cakes were fried just right so they were golden on the outside but soft on the inside and the slaw and sweet sauce elevated it. I would get both appetizers again. We popped in on a Sunday, right before 11, but unfortunately they were late to open the doors by about 5 minutes. Once they did open the doors, we found the tempura options weren't ready so we had to stand to the side and wait a little longer for them to get those out. They had several posters and signs up advertising the new Tomatama curry, which I really wanted but when I ordered, the employee informed me they don't offer that sauce anymore. I let her know all the signs outside say they do.. she said they didn't realize that and they have to be replaced. She was really nice, but that was a bummer. She said I could sample the sauces they do have though, so that was the consolation prize. It did help me choose between their normal curry or the new Bolognese. After you choose the udon option you want, they make your bowl and give it to you on a lunch tray, along with a paper container to put your tempura options. I went with the Big Chicken ($5) and sweet potato ($2 something). You can top your bowl with as much tempura flakes and green onions you like, which is nice because I love me some green onions. At the end, the cashier will ring you up and then you find your seat. The dining area is nice. It's well lit, aesthetic but we haaaaate the chairs with a passion. There is no back support unless you sit in a booth. I really like that all the utensils, napkins, to go items, tempura sauce, etc are all available to grab as needed. I also like that they have chili powder! A must for us spicy eaters. The tempura sauce is rich, and flavorful. A little sweet, but it balances the tempura well. They also have katsu and gyoza sauce in packets. Pro tip - use the larger cups instead of the plastic sauce cups to dispense the tempura sauce, so that it's easier to dip! Wow this was long winded, but onto the food. The regular size bowl will have you full but you can opt for a Large for a couple bucks more. My bolognese was sooooo creamy and savory, and made even better by adding the chili powder and a couple spoons of the tempura sauce. Don't ask me why, it just works. I don't know if it's just a seasonal item, but hopefully not, as the sauce works. I like that i clung to the noodles well too but def get yourself a spoon to help ladle the meat alongside each bite of noodles. The big chicken isn't that big lol But it's basically 1 chicken thigh. I appreciate the dark meat, as it keeps the meat juicy. The sweet potato had the perfect batter on it, but tbh I probably could have gone without another starch. I had a sip of the Creamy broth and the Nikutama my sisters had. Creamy broth was savory and creamy, but it didn't have a bold enough flavor for me. The nikutama is sweet af.. way too sweet for me. But i liked how tender the beef was. There's street parking, free on Sundays. I wouldn't wait in line to eat here, but for a quick, comforting meal, this will hit the spot without breaking the bank.

It's in a modern building in the heart of downtown Berkeley and feels spacious and clean inside. They have a digital ordering system for takeout and clear signage for where to line up if you're dining in. I pretty much always get the Nikutama, and the recipe has been consistently solid. The tempura at most Marugame locations is just average in my opinion, but it does taste better when you ask them to fry a fresh piece for you, even if it means waiting a couple of minutes. My biggest issue was the service during my last lunch visit. There didn't seem to be any problem with the kitchen or food prep--everything was already made and ready to be assembled. The delay was entirely at the ordering/plating station, where the employee putting bowls together was moving painfully slowly and seemed completely unable to keep up with a very standard lunch flow. What made it more frustrating was that other employees clearly saw the line building and did not step in to help. A massive line formed behind me, and several of us waited around 10-25 minutes just to order, even though the restaurant itself didn't seem that busy. It honestly felt like everyone was stuck on their own individual task while customers were left waiting unnecessarily. I'd still come back because the food is reliable but would immediately walk away if I saw the same employee working as this visit was genuinely frustrating. Management should make sure staff are properly trained and that the team actually supports each other during lunch service, because one inefficient person at the front can completely slow down the entire experience. Update: Popped back in on 7/8/26 around 1pm. Same employee working. Huge line. Only 2 parties seated. Line did not move after waiting 5 minutes so I had to walk away. Doubling down on my recommendation to re-hire or re-train this staff member.

This is a cute little noodle and tea house that really hit the spot. I was craving noodles, and…read morethey definitely delivered. I ordered the Canton Seafood Stir Fry, which came with plenty of seafood and fresh-tasting noodles. The portion was generous, and everything came together really well. My husband ordered the Sweet & Sour Chicken, and he really enjoyed it too. It even came with rice, which feels like a nice bonus these days! Another pleasant surprise--they serve wine, too! We'll definitely keep this place in mind the next time we're craving noodles.

Update: Thank you for your response and for taking this seriously. I only remember that the man was…read morean older white male driving a white car, but unfortunately I didn't notice the make. A friend of mine was also stopped by the same person when driving through the alley before, so this doesn't seem to be an isolated incident. I had previously been told that he might be associated with the restaurant, so I appreciate the clarification and your willingness to look into it. Original comment: I've been a regular customer at Noodles Fresh for a long time, and I've often entered through the Kearney St. entrance to pick up food. Tonight, at around 8:45 PM, I was simply walking through the small alley next to the restaurant's back entrance when an older white man in a car, who appeared to be associated with the restaurant, called out to me and told me that it was a "private parking area" and that I should not walk through there. His tone was unnecessarily rude and confrontational, especially since I was just passing by and had done nothing wrong. If pedestrians are not allowed to use that area, there should be clear signage or some kind of barrier indicating that it is private property. If there is an open walkway with no clear notice, I don't understand why someone should be spoken to so rudely simply for walking through it. As a longtime customer, I found the interaction extremely unpleasant and disrespectful. Unfortunately, after this experience, I will not be returning to Noodles Fresh.

We decided to try this place craving something new, and we weren't disappointed. It wasn't busy around 6pm, but the vibes were really cute inside. I love the patio area they have. Would be perfect for a group meet up on a nice day. We ordered the pork sausage to start, the saikoo which according to my fiance is a must for laotian food, the yellow curry, and the crab fried rice. Everything was genuinely amazing. Here are my rankings below: Sausage: 8.5/10 Crab Fried Rice: (with the fish sauce) 9.5/10 Saikoo: (with the fish sauce) 9.5/10 Yellow Curry: 9/10 Would definitely order everything again. It's not quite thai, but thai with a twist I'd say. Bit on the pricey side, but everything was so fresh and you can see where the chefs are making everything, so you know you're getting quality. And the portions honestly made it really worth it. Such a great place! Will 100% be back.

Ordered pad kee mao, pad thai, baby back ribs, spicy fried rice and beef salad for the table to share. Food comes out quickly after placing an order. The spicy fried rice has a kick to it, but a great option if you like spicy. There was no option to select a spice level when we ordered the pad kee mao, and it came out spicy. It doesnt come with basil but instead its stirfried with green beans, red pepper and tomatoes. Can't go wrong with pad thai. It was saucy with all the flavors of sweet, salty and sour. The baby back ribs are a must try! Some pieces have bones, while others do not. The meat is deep fried, but each piece is tender and juicy. It wasn't too greasy and was delicious when paired with the sweet and sour sauce. The grilled beef salad was a refreshing dish tossed with herbs, green apple and red onions in a lime and fish sauce dressing. The one downside was that the beef was a little tough. I can see why there is almost always a line out the door. Will definitely be back again to try other items on the menu
