We also loved the bar area, and after brunch we stopped by the bakery next door to pick up a few treats to take home. The only reason I'm giving four stars instead of five is that the meal felt a little rushed. We were in and out in about an hour, including drinks and dessert. Our appetizer arrived almost immediately after the muffins were dropped off, before we'd really had a chance to enjoy them. Throughout the meal, empty plates tended to sit on the table longer than expected, and courses came out very quickly one after another. That said, everyone was friendly, and the manager was especially kind and attentive. I'm sure they were doing their best to keep things moving. We'd definitely come back, but probably on a less busy day so we can relax a bit more, enjoy the patio, and take our time. Coffee was nice as well, and they kept coming by to refill, which was nice and needed. However disaster struck when one of the waiters knocked off a tray from a ledge right by our table. The tray crashed onto our table and spilled water, hot coffee, and creamer all over me, and our under two year old who started crying. I rushed over to check for burns from the coffee, but luckily it was okay. After the clean-up I was waiting to see if anyone might come by to ask if anything was needed, let me know if I could get more food since I wasn't entirely finished, or at least apologize and comp our meal. We always start with the Vesper martini, their entire cocktail and wine service is impressive, but the Vesper hits. Homemade sourdough starts every meal, supposedly the starter has been the same for years, I mean this is the Bay Area, we know sourdough, and no complaints. Oysters of course, very fresh, great selection, not just the basic kumotos you find at most places, really unique finds. As far as the food, we've never had anything we didn't like, typically we lean towards seafood and salads, but we've also had the burger and the BLT. One other note, my step-daughter just got off the plane from NYC and the first place she wanted to go was Clark's for a cup of their clam chowder- it's that good. I live in the East Bay and I will happily drive to the Peninsula to eat here.
