While you won't even know that you have arrived at the restaurant because their outdoor sign has red letters on a red background, you will enjoy everything that you eat there. While I had read that the clams in wine sauce was a favorite of many patrons (and yes the wine sauce was tasty), my absolute favorite appetizer was the melted Harbison cheese with hazelnuts. OMG! I will come back to this restaurant just to have that cheese appetizer with sourdough bread again, Mark my words. The schnitzel had a nice crust on it and was delicious. The scallops were only three for $49 but were delicious in the beurre Blanc sauce. But above all, do not miss dessert! You must order the cheesecake, and I will not tell you more. I love French food - this was one of the more disappointing meals I have had in recent memory. We commonly spend more than $500 before tip on a meal for two -- tasting menus (especially at Michelin-starred restaurants) often get to that price point. We were excited to try Little Sparrow for NYE, and I wanted to love it, it just didn't deliver. Of our 4 courses + caviar, only the gnudi and crudo were properly prepared. The soufflé was so dry it was inedible (literally crumbled in my mouth like sand). The Vie en Rose tasted like hamburger. None of our wine pairings arrived at the proper time, in fact two came after their course was completed. My water sat empty for more than half the meal, while I also did not have my wine. Our server didn't seem to notice any of these problems. I totally get that NYE is a packed night -- but for what I had heard of Little Sparrow, I never would have thought it would be such a train wreck. read more

Very cool new spot in WSPD. The service, food and ambiance are all great. I tried the Onion Soup Gratinée, Frites w/ Aioli and the Maine Sea Scallops. The soup was good but the frites and the scallops really stood out. The frites are triple fries giving them a unique crispy outside with a pleasantly soft inside. The scallops are plated with cabbage, lobster cream, kaluga caviar. They were very good but a little rich. It's probably a good idea to keep the rest of the meal light if you choose to go with the scallops. Overall it was a very good meal in a cool place. read more

We came here for our 19th anniversary. What a meal. Abby was our server and she was excellent. Had great recommendations and suggestions and very knowledgeable about the menu. The food was outstanding. We had the clams, duck liver terrine, and French onion soup to start. The onion soup was fantastic and definitely can be something to share. I will definitely be coming by to grab the soup to go and a baguette on a very cold winter night in the future. The clams had a great sauce with them for dipping the baguette into and the portion was large. The terrine portion was huge!! Please eat it with the strawberry preserves on a piece of baguette. For entrees, I had the la vie en rose which is chopped ribeye and frites. The steak was perfect and the frites were excellent. Some reviews say they are too salty but we disagree. My husband had the halibut and it was perfectly cooked. The desserts were another standout. We got the soft serve almond joy and the chocolate soufflé and of course mixed the two together to eat. I wanted to try it. I tried it. But I won't be back. JCT kitchen was my favorite so I loved walking in and seeing they hadn't really changed much. Everything we ordered was just very heavy and greasy. The onion soup but especially the frites we're just way too much grease. I was going to order a main dish but saw the dishes at the tables next to us and they just looked so heavy and heavy cream based. I ordered Aleppo shrimp which was great quality fresh shrimp. Also tried the crudo and that was nice and light. The encore drink was great but felt like it was only a few sips with a glass full of ice. It was my birthday dinner date and they wrote happy birthday on the menu but other tables had received birthday desserts with candles. Just odd. Lukewarm experience. read more

I will caution, the dishes are very very heavy on the butter, oil, and cheese; dishes are all over the top, decadent, and heavy, be prepared for that. I can see it being a lot for people looking for a lighter meal, this is not that. This is a tribute to opulence. Cocktails = not liquor forward but well balanced Bread/butter = fresh made hot bread. Delicious butter. Tartare = loved this, specifically the parsley side salad was a nice touch with the steak. Bone marrow as well can amp it up if you want. French Onion Soup = better than the one at Bones Pommes Aligot = too cheese forward for the way I prefer it but flavor was undeniable La Vie En Rose = fries might be the best I've ever had. Recut up rib eye was interesting, I pushed the butter off bc I wanted to focus on steak. Chicken Schnitzel = perfectly cooked, crispy outside and succulent meat Ice cream = Masterful ice cream. Little Sparrow was one of the best dining experiences I've had in a while! The interior is gorgeous, very French bistro. We ordered wine, but I was tempted by the cocktail menu. For an appetizer we had the frites with raclette service. At 24 dollars it's steep for cheese fries, but these are INCREDIBLE. My mouth is watering thinking about them. My friend had the crudo and loved it. For an entree, i had the chicken schnitzel. I was pretty fully but it was super fresh and crispy. Another highlight of the meal was dessert. I came here with a close friend for a girls night. The restaurant is very pretty, but very very dark. We had to use the lights on our phone to see the menu. The staff did play with the lighting a bit while we were there, but ultimately kept it very dim, too dim. The appetizers were the frites w/ raclette and the Harbison cheese. They were both delicious, but the Harbison with its hazelnuts and honey was seriously amazing! The menu is extremely rich, so we ordered the citrus salad to try to break it up a bit, and it was surprisingly delicious. The scallops were yummy, but the cabbage on the bottom was a little off. The poulet (chicken) was juicy, but very boring. The chocolate soufflé was an expensive not that great lava cake that needed to be ordered in advance. The basque cheesecake and the soft serve were bright shining stars to finish the meal though! I have been craving that Harbison and the soft serve since I left and will definitely be back for both. I would recommend ordering the apps, desserts, and some great wine. The main courses didn't add anything to the meal. Ruined my mom's birthday!!! I wish I had never suggested this place. We had made an online reservation a few days in advance for four people, specifically requesting nice seats in the main dining area for a birthday celebration in the 'special occasion section.' On the day of, we arrived 30 minutes early to ensure the hostess was aware it was a birthday and that we wanted nice seating while we waited for our reservation time (this was also our first time trying the restaurant). So I go and greet the hostess and she's incredibly cold and rude right from the start. When she greets you, it's with a scowl on her face and an inappropriately loud, sassy, angry voice that comes across as condescending or as if she's trying to intimidate or command authority. I let it slide for the sake of the occasion and let her know it was a birthday. Not the slightest "congrats" or general hospitality you'd expect, rather the complete opposite. She maintained her scowl and ignored me not giving a care in the world. We felt unwelcome and for absolutely no reason! I was super polite and nice throughout. After waiting a few min beyond our reserved time, they escorted us to the worst possible seats in the entire establishment tucked away in a corner almost secluded from others on very uncomfortable seats and much smaller table in comparison to all the others on the booths. The table could barely accommodate four!! We stood there bewildered and refusing to sit and went back to the hostess stand, this time ready to confront her but to my surprise my mom interfered (she was furious since the very beginning after she witnessed their treatment towards me) and the hostess unashamedly maintained her usual loud angry voice with my mom but my mom politely demanded she lower her voice and be more respectful when she's talking to other human beings. She argued about her tone and in the end lowered her voice (so she WAS capable after all huh??). She kept saying that the table and one other table were the only ones capable of accommodating four people in the entire indoor restaurant!! The long shared booth/tables in the middle were for several 2-3 people (even though their tables and seats were much larger and more comfortable and if they push two table together can easily accommodate four). So we reluctantly accepted waiting for the other table for four. It was also tucked in a corner and secluded (but at least the table itself was larger). This time we were stuck waiting 45 min beyond our reservation time for something we requested to begin with...UNACCEPTABLE! We were pondering leaving but it was too late to drive somewhere else in time. And guess what, they pushed 3 tables together at the booths to accommodate another larger party!!! We sat at the new table upset and disrespected and our waitress loudly greets us with a snide comment "this is a nice table huh!". We didn't appreciate that comment because it was most definitely not a nice table, something we were forced to accept. However she was super nice and wonderful throughout the day, and we truly appreciated that. The waitress was the highlight because the food sure wasn't!!! The worst is that we waited and endured terrible treatment for this crap food!!! The French onion soup sucked and was too salty and sweet, not traditional at all without the soaked bread! The fries were so greasy yuck! they soaked up all the oil...and adding the stinky smelling raclette made it worse! The burger was subpar, the chicken schnitzel was burnt on both sides and covered with arugula to hide it. We were going to order the steak frites thinking it's regular steak and were told that it was basically a burger without the buns...so no thanks!! Thankfully we didn't order that. We were excited to try the ice cream with olive oil...no one liked it since they poured too much oil. A drizzle would have sufficed instead of getting a spoonful of oil! Ewww! The apple tart was soggy and horrible we left the rest of it uneaten. The chocolate soufflé was the only bearable thing in the entire dinner. We basically LIKED NOTHING and that's truly rare. Is the ac out? I tried to enjoy my food and the service was awesome, but the place was really, really hot. When I say hot, I mean hot as in outdoors hot. Please get the ac problem fixed so diners can eat in a pleasant, comfortable atmosphere. This would have been a 5 star review were it not for the lack of air conditioning. I can just walk out at any time but I feel terrible for the employees who must endure hours of the heat. Very unusual experience. They will not accommodate dietary restrictions. I'm on a low carb diet, asked for the fries to swapped for a side salad or really any non starch side on the menu. The waitress just judges our food preference instead of complying with our request. Also took forever to actually take the order. Overall, this is a disappointing experience (unlike any of Ford Fry's other places, of which I'm a frequent patron). For the price point of this place, service must be much more robust and the kitchen must be more accommodating. SAD. Go to Bistro Niko instead if you want French. Waste of money. read more

I was looking forward to visiting the new Ford Fry restaurant for my birthday. It came highly recommended by the foodies in my family . The item my husband had seen on the website menu was not available as described. it had listed being served with a salad but it was not. I ordered a whiskey sour. Typically cheaper than a signature drink but it was $4-5 more than signature drinks with a separate charge for the sour mix of $3! My very basic WS was $21. I was not asked about my whiskey choice so it seems they just assumed a more expensive! The onion soup was delicious and very salty which was fine with me. I had the poulet which was good. Moist and well covered with brown butter gravy. Even our bananas foster was salty! Paid parking with no discount. This was nice but the next time i want to spend $100 per meal, we'll go elsewhere. read more

So where do we start... the raclette was disappointing. I've had raclette in Belgium and was expecting a stringy potato cheesy confection. This was basically cheese fries with a stinky cheese. Their fries were triple fried and basically just oil at that point. The French onion soup was solid. The Aleppo shrimp was tasty. I did also like the halibut. The steak was minced beef reformed into a patty. Again the main flavor was butter. Service was exceptional!! As was the basque cheesecake. Dress code on the website says business casual.As a party of four, we arrived with the men in long pants and nice shirts and the ladies in sundresses. We noticed that there were many people seated indoors not abiding by the dress code. However, for some reason, the hostess took us outside to be seated. The temperature was 94°. I went back to the hostess stand and said we could not sit out in the heat in long pants having abided by their dress code. I suggested she seat the next party to arrive in shorts outside and give us an inside table. She said it would be a two hour wait. I said I am not happy and started to walk away. Her response was simply "OK". I returned to the table outside and agreed to suck it up and sit in the heat. Hostess come out and apologized for her response, but said there were still nothing she could do. It was the birthday of one of our party members and we had made them aware of that. However, when the drinks arrived, they had not put in his drink order and it did not show up. And when the dinner arrived, they only served three of us and the birthday guest did not receive his dinner. We sat there politely waiting for the fourth dinner. Eventually, we had to flag down the the waitress who checked on the fourth meal and said she was sorry it had not been input and that she would take it off of the meal. We all proceeded to share what we had been served and waited for the fourth order which was scallops. I personally had the halibut which was overcooked and dry. And when the fourth order finally arrived the scallops were undercooked. Even though the birthday meal was comped, the total dinner was still close to $400. If you have a dress code enforce it. If you are going to have to seat patrons with reservations, outdoors, make sure they are well aware of that before they arrive. The hostess did say that there was a small note on the reservation that mentioned that, but we obviously did not see it. And apparently whether you are seated indoors or outdoors, is based on the timeframe in which you made your reservation. The timeframe takes precedence over the dress code compliance. Came here tonight with a group of friends to celebrate a birthday and it was not a pleasant experience. The food was okay... but it was really the service that will keep me from coming back. The name on my check says Katie L, so I'm assuming that was her name. Two of us got burgers and ordered them cooked at different temperatures. When they were brought to the table, they didn't know which was which so we ended up having to swap after cutting into them. Not a big deal. When it was time to close out, we were brought one check and asked the waitress when she came back if we could split it by seats. She didn't really seem like she wanted to and said it would take her 5-7 minutes but she could. That was fine with us because still had drinks to finish. When she came back to get our cards, she said it would take awhile to run them... okay? The part that bothered us the most was when she returned to the table, she aggressively told our friend (who's birthday it was and was not acknowledged at all even though we put it on the reservation) that she didn't put a card down. We all saw her put a card down and the waitress even admitted that she saw it too but then continued to gas light our friend into thinking that she didn't put her card down. All the waitress cared about was how she was getting paid. Nothing was even offered to be done. The waitress just said she would call her if they found it. We paid for our friends dinner and then ended up finding her card about 3 ft away from the table on the ground. It obviously just flew out of the folder with the check when it was being picked up. Little Sparrow changed how I feel about French cuisine . I did the cardinal yelp sin and didn't take pictures but the food matches their website, social media, and other pictures you may find. Parking is fine. I went on a tuesday night and parked right up front. Valet is available and probably a must have on weekends. Little Sparrow is in the footprint of the previous JCT Kitchen (behind Jenis ice cream). The service was top notch. On the heels on Keith Leegate, Atlanta needed a customer service win. Little Sparrow delivers. From the time I arrived I was greeted and sat within a my reservation time. I waiting for the whole party to arrive, no time limit on my dining experience, no absurd rules that are rampant in the atlanta food scene. The waiter was AMAZING!! Ask for TK (maybe LK) There is only one. She.is.amazing. could legit lead a customer service seminar. She literally took my table "on a flight to paris" and took the time to explain every menu item, her suggestions, and everything is the house speciality. What I like about Little Sparrow is although it's a mid sized menu...there is a variety of protiens and vegetarian options. I don't remember if anything was vegan friendly.... but why go to France and eat like a vegan? No shade to vegans but French cuisine is rich and butter... vegan butter doesn't hit the same way. The food is rich. Like really rich, if you are counting carbs, conscious of calories, or butter adverse this place isn't for you. If you want a delightful food experience that is made with quality ingredients... if you'll go to the gym tomorrow... go to Little Sparrow today. My party of four had the Aleppo shrimp, fries service with racelette(cheese), French onion soup, bolognaise, and chicken schnitzel. Everything was delicious. Even the table bread with that amazing butter and madalon salt was tasty. The only downside was the shrimp could have used some actual spice... maybe the table of Caribbean folks are biased when someone says food has a little kick... maybe it was spicy for a French palate... nonetheless. The only thing we didn't get to was dessert and it was simply because the food was so rich and we had several cocktails... we would not have been able to savor the desserts. My new favorite restaurant, a real gem and unique experience! Every dish is special and thoughtfully prepared, right down to the butter they serve with the amazing French bread. I want to try everything on the menu. Service is attentive and servers are well trained. We started with the shrimp appetizer and both salads. The beet salad with goat cheese was my favorite. Shrimp was surprisingly spicy. Then we tried three entrees: Scallops, Dover sole and la vie en rose. The Dover sole was the best, the steak frites were magnificent but so incredibly decadent I could feel the oil pooling in my cheeks. The potato side dish was also incredibly decadent and rich, I could only eat a tablespoon. It was like a big bowl of cheese, fondue, really good, but you can't eat a lot of it. The asparagus and morel mushrooms were fantastic. For dessert we had the crème brûlée and tried one of the soft serve ice creams with the fennel pollen, sea salt and olive oil and honey drizzled on top. The crème brûlée was not too sweet, I would've liked a deeper flavor. The soft serve ice cream was fantastic! Very unique, just get it and for only $9 it's a perfect light treat to end the meal! The next time I go, I want to try the Filet Americain, halibut bouillabaisse and chocolate soufflé. Then the third time I go, I want to try the clams, chicken schnitzel and bananas foster soft serve.
