    Crab rangoon roll.

We usually have pretty good luck picking out sushi spots in rural/off the main road spots. Places that you would just shrug off and give a hard pass on the sushi in... Today I about threw in the towel here in Springfield MO and said... "Nope. Not here." From the outside, and somewhat from the inside too, Misaki (formerly Little Tokyo) was a literal hole in the wall. I don't mind rolling the dice now and then, but this place screamed.... "Food poisoning!" The place was pretty empty at about 545 pm. The floor was kind of sticky. It looked like everyone else was ordering the hibachi style items... But the recent Yelp reviews were pretty good. Service was great and as it turned out.... So were the sushi rolls. Fried crispy roll Spicy jalapeño roll Crab rangoon roll Hot Springfield roll Cadillac roll A little heavy handed on the sauces, but the freshness of the rice, vegetables, cream cheese, seafood etc. still came through. I absolutely LOVED the spicy jalapeño roll! Glad I didn't cut and run. You can't always judge a book by the cover.... Especially when it comes to food! There's another dive next door to Misaki (Sam's Southern Eatery) that I have to check out now too!

Updating review. They've changed their name to Misaki. Nothing else has seemed to change. Still our favorite Japanese restaurant in Springfield. Reasonable prices with generous portions. Menu items are same-- with exception of price increases for inflation. Friendly staff with efficient service. Sushi is best in town and delicious. Dine in, drive through, and carry out available. Consistently busy restaurant.

Unassuming little joynt with quick and friendly service. Fish on the rainbow roll was fresh and hibachi beef plate was tasty. Good portions and pricing.

This is a nice gem of a restaurant. A friend and I attended their lunch time serving during the week. The building is old and unassuming from the outside. Inside the restaurant the setting is clean and decorated nicelyin Japanese decor. Our server was most polite and helpful in ordering and service. I ordered the Hibachi chicken. It came with vegetables, fried rice, noodles and a side salad. The food tasted as good, if not better, than some high end Japanese restaurants in town. We shared a Rainbow sushi roll. I attached a pic. Again, it was very delicious. Overall, it is an excellent choice for great food. I will be back!

Amazing every time! I've had multiple items off the menu and each one has been wonderful. The orange sauce is great too!

    What is the salad dressing?

Two choices. Ginger dressing or A type of Mayonnaise based yum yum dressing. Both very flavorful! Can purchase bulk by the cup also.

Last night was our first time back since they relocated to VIB from their old food truck location…read more I ordered the drunken noodles with grilled tofu, which I don't think I'd tried before. Wow, best meal I've had out in a while. The lowest heat option had just a little burn but not lingering, sauce was flavorful and umami without being too salty or overpowering the other flavors, noodles well cooked (al dente), tofu was firm with a nice chargrilled flavor (you could tell it was actually grilled), and there were some nice fresh additions like broccoli florets, shredded carrots, cilantro (and maybe mint?), plus lime slices. The single portion was huge, enough for two meals easily, and a steal at less than 10 bucks. My husband got a (huge!) burrito with chicken, mojo sauce, and fresh guacamole and enjoyed his as well. They have local beers and kombucha on tap, and some nice looking homemade desserts. Atmosphere was pleasant, modern hotel lobby, quiet, with nice large windows. The lady at the counter was very friendly and smiling the whole time she interacted with us. Food came out fast but it was clear they cooked it to order. Eating my leftover noodles for lunch and they're still on point next day and after being nuked XD All around great experience. We'll be back!

We love Asian fusion, so we were excited to try this. I ordered the Drunken Noodles with chicken…read moreand my husband ordered the Thai Basil chicken, heat level 4. They must have made mine with the heat, because it was so spicy that my eyes and nose ran. They just threw some shredded chicken on top that was seasoned to be taco meat... not kidding, it tasted like chili powder, cumin and crushed red pepper. So I had spicy chicken taco meat on top of super hot Asian-flavored noodles. (The flavor of the noodles was great, without the spice and taco seasoning, hence the second star). The Thai basil chicken was bland, flavorless, and dry. Felt like the chicken had been fried awhile go, then reheated. There was about one basil leaf shredded on top. I had to give my spicy taco chicken to my husband who at it with the plain rice, while I ate his "basil" chicken with my noodles. The presentation was beautiful, though (pic taken after I stirred up the noodles). Both plates looked amazing, but the flavors didn't live up to their looks. Needless to say we won't be returning.
