First of all my friend and I were surprised by how heavy the pie was. It was the size of a baby turtle but weighted like a small bowling ball....when we broke open the pie....we could see why....the thing was packed with chunks of juicy tender chicken meat along with mushroom in yummy white sauce. The shell itself with intricate tissue paper thin layers of melt in your mouth flakes added just enough texture for one memorable culinary experience. If you ever catch them nearby you definitely need to give them a try....

Anyway, we had two Connecticut (butter, no mayo) lobster rolls, with extra lobster meat! And added on a soup with each. (Discounted combo). Clam chowder and lobster bisque. Both were excellent, but the lobster bisque had BIG pieces of lobster. I'll get the bisque next time. :) Also had a cool whoopie pie. Highly recommended

However, the gentleman behind the counter offered me a sample of his two favorite foods. The first was crawfish etoufee. Oh my, it was seasoned just right and to my surprise, he offered me a taste of his gumbo. By that time, I had spied his last smothered turkey wing. That did it. I chose my two sides, grabbed a soda from a nearby vendor, and sat down to gobble( no pun intended) my lunch, but as I sat there, I couldn't stop thinking about the etouffee he offered. So, before I left, I stopped by to get an order of that to take home. His stand is small, but efficient-looking. It was clean and smelled fabulous. The prices weren't inexpensive but I felt the food I ate was worth every penny. The menu included, baked chicken, pork chop, fried shrimp and fish which also comes as a po boy. They can also stuff their poboys with roast beef, sausage and pork chops. Their sides were so yummy. They offered butter beans, mac and cheese, candied yams, jambalaya, gumbo, greens, cornbread, and much more. They also have a self-serve drink machine with a good variety, well chilled. I didn't know what I was looking for but Vieux Carre caught my eye. It's a small setup with a few hot plates and a huge pot of gumbo, paired with a tiny kitchen in the back. Although I was shopping at the market stall across the way from Vieux Carre, I almost missed it so I'm glad I took a second loop. They had a number of options such as gumbo, fried pork chops, lamb chops, two types of pasta and more on the menu. I was struggling to decide what I wanted, it all looked really good. The lamb chops looked delicious but they were so tiny, but still calling my name. The man behind the counter was kind enough to give me a nice souffle cup of gumbo to try and - woah. So good and flavorful! I ended up grabbing a cup of gumbo which was dark from the roux and packed with sausage, chicken, crab and shrimp. For my meal, I thought I'd go all out and get the fried pork chop, mac & cheese, greens and 1 lamb chop. Unfortunately, lamb chops are only served in an order of three and I didn't want that many so I opted out. The total was high for 1.5 meals but supporting the biz was worth it, so I happily paid that (and tipped of course.) Let me tell y'all. Just like the gumbo, that porkchop was INSANE. This is probably only the 2nd fried porkchop I've had since being an adult and it was life-changing. It was freshly fried, golden, sooo crispy and flavorful but still SO tender and juicy inside. Omg, I spent many years not eating pork and when I know things like this exist, how could I ever stray again? The mac & cheese wasn't for me, the cheese consistency didn't work for me but the greens were great. I am going to dream of that pork chop for a longgg time.

The owner was pleasant and I was glad to see fresh ginger…read morebeer, carrot juice etc. The ginger beer wasn't sugary and processed and it had the proper kick. The soup, AMAZING! I enjoy coco bread but I prefer hard dough and was glad it was on the menu. No frills or gimmicks just real good and real people. I'm glad I stopped in and tried the place out. I'll definitely be back when I'm in the area.

There is a sign that says no substitutions, so fries it was. The fries are your basic frozen variety. The catfish was freshly fried, and was tasty. Cold lemonade accompanied each box. The whiting was fried and seasoned well and there was a great portion. There was an abundance of tasty crinkle fries. A little too crunchy but it was good. The onion rings were also go The assuming baked salmon was very good. The salmon was cooked to perfection and not overcooked. The glaze was good as well. The yellow rice was also seasoned and cooked well although it could have been a tad more tender. The greens were super tender and seasoned well. The food and the customer service saved the day and stopped me from saying 1 and done. I'll be back when I can verify they have all the advertised sides!

Grilldabeast is, I assume, a play on the word wildebeest. I asked one of the owners what theme his food truck has and he explained to me it's street food favorites "with a twist." I believe it's a fairly new addition to the ATL food truck scene. No more than a month or two old. The small truck is painted all black. The menu consisted of an Avocado BLT, Chicken Shawarma, Peachy Pork (pork loin BBQ sandwich), and Smoke-Fried Wings (mango Thai chili glaze, avocado ranch). Sides included a Panko Avocado basket, Smoked Tomato Dill Hummus, Chips, and Slaw. Mains were about $7-8 each and sides $5 and less. Drinks (mint iced tea and bottled water) were $2. I tried the Chicken Shawarma ($8) plus a mint iced tea ($2). Shawarmas are Middle Eastern sandwiches or wraps that contain meat, typically off of a spit, along with a variety of garnishes such as tabbouleh salad, tomatoes, cumcumbers, etc. Grillabeast's Chicken Shawarma is huge. It's served open-faced, so it's kind of like eating a giant soft taco. The Chicken Shawarma contains pieces of marinated char-grilled chicken breast, tzatziki (Greek yogurt sauce), Mediterranean salsa (tomatoes, cucumber), lettuce, and feta cheese all inside pita bread. Overall, not bad. It was certainly filling and the ingredients were fresh enough. If anything, I thought the wrap could have used more tzatziki sauce because I love that stuff -- it's minty and refreshing, but I can see why they don't add more sauce as the wrap would get quite messy to eat. The shawarma came with a side of house-made chips, also not bad. They were thin and more on the soft rather than crispy side. Mint iced tea was pretty simple. Not much sugar added if any. $2 for one Styrofoam cupful may be asking a tad too much, but whatever. Staff was very nice and my food, which was made-to-order, came out fast. Credit cards are accepted, though I'm not sure if there's a minimum.

I'm not going to reinvent the wheel here. Homie below me has all of the stats about menus and prices, so check out his review for more detailed info about things of that nature. My sis and I decided to split the loaded curly fries; Grilldabeast was our appetizer truck before we got down and dirty noshing on tacos, burritos, Jamaican jerk chicken, creole pretzels and popcorn, and custard. If my memory services me correctly, the fries were $5 and they were the perfect thing to get our food coma on and popping. Imagine: piping hot seasoned curly fries, ladened with fresh crispy bacon, and thick cheese sauce. I mean, can you REALLY go wrong with cheese, curly fries, and BACON? No, my dear Yelper, you cannot. Service was on point, food was fresh and made to order. We received our fries within 5-8 minutes.

I called the number listed on their Instagram page and spoke with Cory, who apologized and arranged for me to return another day to receive a replacement order of 2 lbs of crawfish at no charge since I was no longer nearby. When I returned today (7/18/26) @ 2:43 pm after a 35-40 minute drive from where I reside, I explained the situation to the woman working at the window and showed her the video of the hair I found in my food. Instead of showing concern or apologizing, she immediately became defensive and suggested the hair could have come from anywhere. I explained that wasn't the big issue; the issue is that I found hair in my food, and that I was simply following the instructions I had been given after speaking with Cory, and that I was there to receive the agreed-upon replacement. Rather than honoring the replacement of 2 lbs, I was only offered 1 lb. I expressed that my original order was 2 lbs and that finding hair in my food had ruined my meal. During the conversation, I also questioned a statement she made about the hair strand looking like hers, and that her hair was braided on my first visit, and she just took her braids down Monday. However, what she stated didn't match what I remembered from that visit. Her hair was pulled up in a ponytail that visit and today. The discussion became uncomfortable and wasn't getting anywhere, so I accepted the 1 lb simply to avoid further conflict. Accidents can happen in any restaurant, and I understand that. What disappointed me most was how the situation was handled. I expected professionalism, empathy, and for the agreed-upon resolution to be honored. Instead, I felt dismissed and that my concerns were not taken seriously. Unfortunately, because of this experience, I won't be returning or recommending Mama Jane's Seafood Truck to others.

I arrived on a Thursday around 2:45 after they posted they were open. When I arrived it was only 2 ppl ahead of me. I ordered some crawfish for 12.99 a pound and a side bag for 8.99. The crawfish was SO good. Definitely the best crawfish I've ever had in Atlanta. The side bag comes with corn, sausage and potatoes. My mom said it was some of the best corn she evr had. Everything was super flavorful and the crawfish were nice and spicy. The service was quick and they were extremely nice. I can't wait to go back once my schedule permits!
