I enjoyed an excellent breakfast of cheesy scrambled eggs and bacon along with a biscuit and jelly. I washed this down with a black coffee and Dasani water - all of this was served by a friendly team who were easy to do business with and thoughtful in their manner. The restaurant was clean and the atmosphere was a comfortable seat just beside the restaurant in the food court area of terminal A. There was a food court attended by a gentleman named Brandon that I took time to thank and call out for his excellent customer service and keeping the dining area clean - he was way above and beyond and really deserves a shout out! Customer service really sold the experience for me during a recent visit to Chef G. Garvin's Low Country airport location. I had previously dined at this location do not recall it being a memorable experience. Last week during my airport travels, I decided to give it a second chance. The food appeared to be fresh and all my questions were answered by the attentive staff. I shared that I would come back and when I did, I was greeted warmly. I selected the jumbo shrimp with 2 sides. Sides selected were mac & cheese and black-eyed peas. Shrimp gravy added to mac & cheese at my request. Thoroughly impressed by the seasoning that were prominent throughout, and the adequate portions. The black eyed peas looked equally inviting and I really do enjoy them year-round. As I was selecting my beverage, another worker approached and gave me cutlery wrapped in a napkin. That act was a nice addition to the great service I had already received, and additional confirmation of my correct choice. Meal pricing was comparable to the amount and quality of food I would expect from other restaurants outside of the airport. Shrimp and salmon meals were priced at $21 and included choice of sides. Other options were available for meals, salads and sides. Everything was delicious, and the containers use kept the food nice and warm. I enjoyed my meal at my gate, and was able to finish prior to boarding. Low country is located in Concourse A, near the center in the food court. Definitely returning and happy to add this G. Garvin as my Concourse A go to destination. read more

No complaints. On a layover at ATL, needed food. After scoping out a few spots. I decided to try the shrimp and grits platter. Friendly service, quickly. Yes, it was pricey but its airport prices. I think I paid $25 total for a platter and a drink. There could be a larger serving of eggs. But everything was good. I'd totally go back in the future. read more

Breakfast choices are great! Waffles and French toast, Eggs, bacon, sausage, chicken sausage and breakfast potatoes. Biscuits and gravy a true Southern treat as well as white Georgia Shrimp & grits. But the chicken was perfectly seasoned and the broccoli so soft and easy to chew. The macncheese was the star w the blend of multiple cheeses to melt in ur mouth. Loved it! So I am in the Atlanta airport for a 2 hour layover and right at 10:30 am and I see one of my favorite chefs G. Garvin has this low country restaurant. I decided to try them out. First had cafeteria lady aka Madea behind the counter. She was quick to tell me what they ain't got and they about to switch over to lunch. Okay I wanted shrimp and grits, biscuit, and bottled drink $30 which I was okay with since I was at the airport. Grits bland no seasonings shrimp good flavor but swimming in grease and biscuit damn near choked the crap out of me. I was truly disappointed and I don't recommend them at all. Unless they get friendlier staff and fresher flavorful food. read more

Executive Chef G. Garvin's LowCountry Restaurant in Atlanta's Hartsfield-Jackson Airport in Terminal A, next to Boar's Head Cafe. Food court setting shared with other restaurants. The food was fast-food style and kept warm via heat lamps or warming table. I asked the cashier which chicken was most popular? She recommended the Rosemary Baked Chicken. Done. I got that along with two sides: cheese grits and mac and cheese. The chicken (thigh and breast) was very flavorful, savory, tender, and juicy. It's a bit salty at times for my taste, but overall, it's pretty good. The mac and cheese was good, but nothing spectacular. The cheese grits with bacon were good, granted I don't have much experience eating it, but cheesy grits were pretty good! Overall 3.5 stars. If ever in Atlanta for an extended stay, I would try his restaurant. But, if you can't like me, I am glad I tried it and would be back. FYI, just recently (like 2 days ago actually), I saw an old episode of DDD, and Guy Fieri was sampling places with Chef Garvin. read more

If you want something other than your typical fast food in the airport, this is a good place to go. I didn't want burgers and fries or burrito. I was pressed for time so mac & cheese, broccoli and fried chicken hit the spot. I wouldn't say that it's the best soul food I've ever had.....could've used the pinch of salt on the chicken and mac & cheese. However, the chicken was juicy and crispy. I ordered a side of bread pudding, which I waited six minutes for ...the middle of the bread pudding was cold so I dont know what they warmed up for six minutes. Their serving sizes are just enough, but they're not gonna give you any anymore than one scoop. read more

I was in the Atlanta airport at about 9 AM on a Tuesday morning, after having been picked up by a speeding Uber at 3:30 AM in stormy Louisville, Kentucky and flown to Georgia. I had missed my connecting flight due to delays in the initial one, so thankfully I had time to grab a bite to eat. I chose low country because it was not crowded and the line was short. Due to some tummy issues, I only ordered scrambled eggs and cheese grits. I handed them my debit card and retrieved my food. I carried it back to the waiting area for my flight and opened the container. The scrambled eggs... how to describe them? They were in small pieces and they were very oily. I took a few bites and could not eat them. The grits were more like soup and I had to use a spoon to eat them. Actual pieces of grits were sparse... there was more... liquid filler type substance than grit particles. I could not eat more than two or three bites because it was just unappetizing. I threw the food away because it was nearly time for my flight to board and I could not make it back to low country to ask for reimbursement. I did write a letter to the company when I saw on my bank statement the next day that the cost for one serving of scrambled eggs and one serving of cheese grits, neither of which were edible, cost me over $30! I did ask for reimbursement then! And I received a firm CORPORATE NO. I could not believe the poor quality and the outrageous cost at this restaurant. There were two workers in the front and one worker in the back - space plenty to have freshly made food available. Evidently this company does not put priority on quality only on making money. I will never again eat at a low country restaurant. read more
