To take my emotions out, here are the facts. I purchased a Revive mattress by Living Spaces. The mattress came with 10 year warranty. However, I could not get a printed or a digital copy of warranty terms and conditions. The mattress broke. The warranty claim got approved. When I got to the store they informed me that they no longer sell the same model as the broken mattress. The current equivalent model of the Revive mattress was more expansive. It was my understanding that the issuer of the manufacturer warranty would repair or replace my broken item with an equivalent one per their discretion. Ken, the manager on duty insisted that warranty was for the price I paid; and if I wanted to exchange a broken mattress for an equivalent mattress under the manufacturer warranty, I had to pay the price difference. Bottom line: I did not get a free warranty exchange. read more

We gave negative reviews recently about a bad experience we had with the Living Spaces Warranty but not with the store itself. Well after these reviews and after contacting "7 on your side", we received a call from a Living Spaces manager who said they would honor our 5 year warranty on the chair. We then went to the Millbrae store and with the help of an excellent sales associate we found another one to our liking and purchased it with the credit that we had from the previous purchase. I want to reiterate that we have no issue with the quality of the products or the competence or friendliness of the staff at Living Spaces. Our issue was with the deceptive and tricky warranty system. Make sure you read the terms and conditions very thoroughly before putting in a claim. That was the lesson we learned. read more

The girl that helped us wanted us to take a scratched product even though we told her that we wanted a new one and we would pay the full price. Wow!!! I don't know all of these negative reviews. I personally have an amazing impression on this furniture store. I love IKEA but I think this is as good or even better. Lots of sections and lots of sakes associates around. I like there is no sales pressure and one of the sakes associated always seemed to be there to help answer any questions that I world have. If you like IKEA, you would love this place. Def a great option and/or alternative. I looked fir a particular item that is not avail (sold out at ikea) it turns out livingspaces have the exact one and much much better pricing...(granted I got it at the discount area as AS-IS) overall 5 stars indeed! This review is for the customer service provided by Dennis. We recently purchased a custom couch set to be delivered and soon realized the length was 2-3 inches more than the wall space we have. I called the 1-800 number and they wrote me off, told me I had to pay the 25% restocking fee if I wanted to make the minor change to the couch. They didn't look into whether or not the vendor had started productions, yet found it easier just to tell me to pay the fee and move on. We went into the store to see if they can help us reach out to the vendors again. Dennis drew up an email and told us he'll get back to us within 48 hours and he kept his word. We were met with such good news that not only will they make the minor exchange, but refund us the difference. They give you only until 8 pm the same day to cancel orders, not 12 hours, not 24 hours. So if you checkout at 7:30 you basically have just 30 mins to cancel goods that are 1000s of dollars. And the 25% "restocking fee" is a rip-off for custom stuff that's not even built yet! In fact they gave us a 6 week ETA for the couch, and couldn't even give us 2 hours to change our minds. I mean what are you restocking 30 mins after checkout that costs so much? So unless you read every single word of the bill and you're 100% sure that the stuff you are about to buy will fit perfectly, I'd suggest shopping elsewhere. bought a sectional sofa, coffee table, dining table and set of chairs. the furniture delivered was of much lesser quality than that in stores. sofa not as supportive and just sinks in after 6 months of use, all the cushions are already warped. the dining chairs also also have no bottom under the cushions. not sure why that is, so theres no support. one of the cushions isn't even properly stitched to the frame so it really just sinks in. additionally the first dining table they delivered looked like one of the legs had broken off and was bolted back together. Have to get a new sectional because we found out that our cheap one is made in China and it is giving off a chemical vapor causing us burns... yes BURNS! (Look up Sofa Rash) We arrived at Living Spaces in December and the very nice woman showed us many sofas. We picked out a favorite and got a quote for custom sized L shape. We had no idea she misquoted the price of a down feather custom Sierra sofa by handing us the price for a custom foam Sierra sofa. After looking and not finding anything else built in the USA that we liked we went back to Living Spaces in February to place the order and got sticker shock for the price of the down sofa and we were ready to walk out! They apologized for giving us the wrong spec sheet and got a manager. She did everything in her power to adjust the price with delivery downward several hundred dollars for the custom down one. Everyone was SO nice and helpful. I really think the furniture is also much more comfortable and much better quality than Ashley's. It is currently being custom built by Living Spaces' factory near Los Angeles. I'll update with the build quality once it arrives. *update* The sofa arrived and delivery was professional. This is the most comfortable sofa! Check out their option for down *Update 2* Fabric lasted about 2 years and then looked worn out. The pillows are a pain to fluff everyday. Went in for a new sofa and found a discounted floor model. As I was paying they wouldn't offer delivery for a floor model and they wouldn't hold the item for pickup more than 24 hours after paid-in-full. Asked her to check with the manager and nope-- I had to take this heavy $1000 sofa with me within 24 hours. This place is slightly higher quality then IKEA, but ya still very reasonable prices. We found several that could work, but because we needed it ASAP, the associate was able to help determine which was available in the Fremont warehouse for immediate pickup. Also, awesome that you get a coupon for each purchase and survey completion! We then returned the weekend after looking for a rug, and also found the perfect one that was available for immediate pick up at Fremont. Overall, the store carries great furniture at reasonable prices, and the associates are all very friendly and helpful (even though they don't earn a commission), so 5 stars!! read more

Despite the super scary reviews, we still went ahead and bought a couch from here and got it delivered a-ok. We went to the Millbrae store twice, probably about 20 min. the first time to look around and then a second time to actually order a couch. Umit helped us both times and he was really nice and helpful, while still being no pressure. Ordering itself took less than 5 minutes. Buuuuttt... we knew most of negative reviews came from delivery experiences, so we held our breath. But it went great! We got a text the night before giving us a 3 hour window (9-noon). From checking on the site, we knew that we were the third stop, so it might be closer to 9 a.m. Right around 8:30, we got a text telling us delivery would happen around 8:50.. and there they were! We weren't missing any parts, thank goodness, and Manuel and his crew did a quick delivery and assembly. He was really nice too. So far, our reclining couch works great, and it's pretty comfortable. No, no one asked us to do a review. We are not getting anything by writing this. And yes, we personally know of people (sister, and a good friend) who had HORRIBLE delivery experiences, but I'd thought it might be helpful to hear of an experience gone right. If I had to take a wild guess, I would think who you draw up as the delivery guys might make the experience good or bad. Looking at the receipt, it seems like the delivery is done third-party. And maybe you need to get lucky and get a good person at the warehouse making sure all parts are loaded on the truck. I came here to look at a bed frame I wanted to purchase and I prefer a platform bed frame for my Casper mattress and when I was finally approached by a guy name Theddaus (however you spell his name) , I had asked about the Frame and how I wanted a more of a platform bed frame. If you are at all into mid century modern or deco are really nice couches and sectionals etc. this is a great store! I never even made it to the third-floor. When they have sales they have really good sales like at least 50% off. There were several things I wanted to buy but I only needed one and I found some thing unusual that I would never have found online which was a mid century metal marble top bar. Very deep cabinets half of it easiest for a storage. As it is a couple hundred dollars off which covered the taxes and thank God one of the guys that works there told me about LUGG. They will pick up your item and delivered to your house and it was two guys for $100! Totally thrilled everybody else there told me that I needed to get a U-Haul or something and I probably never would've bought the item. Everyone was super friendly and asked me if I needed help which seems rare nowadays but at the end of the night when it came down to finding the piece I decided on, Kevin was helping me. What a sweetheart! Very professional, very sweet which is not always easy to find in younger people these days. The guy that ended up writing up the order was the one that told me about LUGG. I couldn't have had a better experience! I would definitely go back there again if I had any room in my house for more furniture lol but I will be there again! TLDR; cheap furniture at cheap quality and absolutely horrible corporate customer service (lack thereof) and will BREAK your furniture further if you send it in via warranty. I purchased furniture from the earlier this year and my couch has been with them LONGER than I have had it in my home for the past 8 months. The custom built couch took ages to complete, delivery was delayed and shoddily done (damaged my home), the couch was defective (loose spring in backseat, makes a noise, see video I posted) and they took over 2 months to "evaluate" before rejecting my claim- escalating to "corporate relations" team who said yes they would fix if. I thought that was great they were taking responsibility for their badly built furniture but I shouldn't have given them even that basic expectation. Instead they took over 4 weeks to "repair" it and it arrives back to me today- not only is it NOT REPAIRED. But they damaged the couch further in their "state of the art repair facility" (their exact words in the email I received). It now has a spring that makes a loud firecracker noise anytime any weight is exerted on it. The couch inner spring is completely broken. Insult to injury, the moving people they hired scratched my hardwood with the couch and marked up my walls with the couch legs. This company should not be in business any longer, I'm considering standing outside their business handing out flyers on how shady their business practices are and encourage you to report them to the BBB. Welp, it's no surprise that this place has a 2-star average rating. I've never given a 1-star review but this was just pure "dgaf" service. While this wasn't regarding a large couch delivery (sorry to everyone who had to deal with that), it was for some pillows.. I know, what could go so wrong with two pillows? I feel it's my duty to share this for you other consumers out there. Takeaway is... don't order anything with them if you can help it. Buy in the store... and take it home. 1) Ordered some pillows over the phone, they said it would be shipped to my house. I gave them my home address. One week later, we get a text saying, "Your order has arrived to Millbrae Store for pick up." Confused... I call to give them my home address (since I paid a delivery fee). 2) One week later, no delivery. I call them and find out they are sitting at the Millbrae Store... still. The manager tells me she could ship them (HA! yeah right) so I go in person to pick them up, on my Saturday. Her directions were to go to the "operations area" of the store, aka the "Cashiers desk" which does not say "Operations" anywhere. 3) I show up, and go right to the desk she told me to. An employee stops me first to ask how they can help, and I tell them "Looking for the operations area because I'm picking up pillows." He directs me to the "garage" area. I speak to someone to find that their computer is saying they were delivered, and not in the store. I'm sorry... but what??! 4) I spend literally 15-20 minutes walking through the store with another employee as we look for the pillows.. only to find out they were sitting behind that desk in the store the whole time. The manager's response when I show that I'm upset: "Well, I told you to come to the desk." Not exactly the response I was expecting.. This store (Millbrae) is huge. Update your computers with a note and look out for the customer. Any employee should be able to open an order and see exactly what's going on, not outdated information. The kicker: I did everything I could to avoid writing this review. I wrote feedback on their site, and also called their customer service center at the corporate office to give them a chance to fix this. All they could do is *grudgingly* bump a giftcard to me for $25 bucks. One pillow cost $40... If they would have shown an inkling of concern on how to improve the overall experience next time, I wouldn't have felt inclined to write this. They have good selection with some centerpieces starting at $1! We got 4 beautiful pillows that were on sale for $6 or $9 each! They will look great on our sofa. The process to check out did take rather long unfortunately. We were seated at a dining table while our pillows were scanned on an iPad and then later taken to a cash register. The cashier took 5 minutes to just separate all the change into the correct slots in the cash register. I would hope that they would've done this on their own time previously. The cashier and our iPad person took an additional few minutes to communicate what was going on. The whole transaction took about 20 minutes for some reason. I visited this store two days ago and bought a recliner. The service was overly aggressive, following me around as I browsed. I bought the recliner from Manny, who said that if I contact a number he gave me, I would receive a free cleaning kit. The number is for a place called 'Carefree by Uniters." They denied knowing anything about the free cleaning solution. When I tried calling the Living Spaces store (multiple times) I was connected with the corporate office. When I asked for the number for the Millbrae store, I was told that the store does not have a telephone!!!!! Service absolutely sucks. Living Spaces sells the product. A different company delivers and assembles it. If there is a problem with the assembly (as there was), I have to make an appointment several weeks in advance to have someone from the delivery company come to inspect it. As for the free cleaning kit that was promised upon purchase. Nobody either at Carefree or Living spaces corporate claims to know anything about it. And they have the nerve to tell their customers that the local Living Spaces brick and mortar store have no phone! Such disrespect! With regards to a particular coffee table that we thought would be too big for our house, the sales person noted our interest in the item and to push us to purchase it, promised us full refund if it ended up being too big. We were told he would be able to waive the restocking fee if it ended up being too big for the house and we had to return the item. When the item indeed ended up being too big, we immediately took it back for a return, and the salesman acted like he did not recognize us. We were charged a restocking fee. I only bought one thing here, and it wasn't a major furniture item. The customer service here is nice, every corner i turned, someone will ask me if i needed help. The place has three stories and there are escalators and elevators that takes you up. The first two has all the main furniture, and the 3rd story has the kids furniture, with other items like desk and lamps. The restrooms are only located on the 2nd and 3rd floor. When you have chosen your item, there is a employee that will go to the nearest computer to process your order. If you bought something small, you can go to the main window on the first floor to get a bag for your purchase They also have two entrances. Ridiculously wrong business system, uneducated employees. They rather loose another customer who spent large amount of money over a delivery fee. And people I already paid my delivery fee they were trying to charge me another additional fee for changing the date when my couch isn't even delivered yet. I ended up canceling my order. The person was on the line with me min ago, she was very not nice definitely not helpful. She said she will email me the return receipt I still haven't got it yet. My items should be fully refunded including delivery fee otherwise I'll be calling my bank. I will bring my business to pottery-barn and RH, at least they make their customers happy. I recently ordered a $1700 outdoor sofa. I was given a delivery date of Nov. 5th. I called the day before to see when the delivery window would be and was told that now it wouldn't be delivered until the 10th. I asked if I could pay extra for a sooner date even though they broke their own time frame and the answer was no. I asked if I could pick it up at a local store since online says that I would be able to do so 3 days earlier than scheduled delivery, the answer was no. I bought a shelf for $100, took them about 30 min to take the payment - they needed me to enter my email, phone, address etc. to process it. When I asked why do they need all my personal info if I'm paying with a credit card and picking up the shelf, they agreed to process the payment without requesting my personal info. I payed, the receipt was never printed, and after all the assistant brought me the shelf from the display without any packaging. When I asked if I can get a new item, it took them another 20 min to confirm there are none in stock. Then took it another 15 min to find a person who can cancel the transaction. I've been researching sofas for months (west elm, room and board, crate and barrel, IKEA, YOU NAME IT!) I was prepared to just pay $2000 for a sofa I really wanted. I was looking for a small(ish) reversible sectional sofa for my studio apt. I decided to try Living Spaces before pulling the trigger on an expensive couch. The showroom was nice. The salesperson on the floor was very helpful and informed me that there were a couple of large sectionals that can be reconfigured to be smaller/reversible. I settled on the Alder sectional sofa and I am glad I did. It's firm but not too firm, solid feeling frame. I was also able to pick a custom color for the sofa and pillows without an extra charge. They said it would be 3-5 weeks and to expect closer to 5 weeks due to the holidays but it was ready in 3 weeks! I had to take away a star because like most of the complaints in here, I had a little snafu with delivery. Somehow my phone number was entered incorrectly so the delivery driver wasn't able to contact me. I happened to be tracking the delivery online and called customer service to let them know that it said the truck arrived but no one was outside. The driver ended up leaving and I had to have my delivery rescheduled to two days later. I was initially very frustrated by this and had I written this review that day, id probably have given them 2 stars but I had time to calm down and realize that stuff happens and when it finally did get delivered, the couch was exactly what I wanted .In the end, I had to deal with an error that was rectified but needed up saving $1000+ . read more

We bought SEREN SAND SOFA which was 85 inches long. We live in San Francisco. Although our stairs are tight we currently have a 90" sofa that was delivered in our home. We have previously had 96" sofa that was delivered to our home. The sofa we purchased from Living Spaces was the SMALLEST sofa we've purchased since living here. When the delivery was attempted, they claimed they could not deliver the sofa and that it was too big to fit. I asked them to at least try and they did a half-hearted attempt to deliver the sofa. I am now being charged a 20% RESTOCKING FEE for their poor attempt to deliver a small couch! I WILL NEVER SHOP AT LIVING SPACES AGAIN. They are the WORST in service. read more

They deserve ZERO stars. HORRIBLE service. There are so many other furniture stores with better quality furniture, service, and prices. I would not recommend this place to anyone. We should have never ordered our daughter's bedroom set from this company. It all began when our daughter liked a bedroom set they had back in October 2019. We waited a couple of weeks for the product to be restocked. Once it was restocked in December we placed the order. They guaranteed delivery Dec. 26th. I received a call a couple of days before saying our order was delayed and they would call once it reaches the warehouse. We never received a confirmation call. I kept calling them to check on the status. Keep in mind I paid for the bedroom set in full when I initially placed the order. When I finally got a hold of someone on Jan 2nd, they said they can deliver same day between 6pm and midnight! I immediately agreed because it was already a week delayed. When they finally arrive on the 2nd, the delivery men were so nice by the way, and brought furniture in the room they realized they don't have the hardware! What kind of QC check do they have in place? Is it their first time delivering?! Anyways, the bed couldn't be assembled! We called them and they said they'll have someone come next day between 8-3pm. My husband took a day off work to be home to let them in. Around 2pm my husband calls and finds out they are not coming!!!! They apologize and schedule for another delivery on the 3rd between 6-midnight again. But no one shows up!!!!!! We call again and they apologize, again, and say someone will come on Saturday. Saturday morning I receive a text saying my delivery is scheduled for Monday the 6th! No way we are taking another day off work. This is 100% their mistake and they are not acting accountable for the mistake- this is what frustrated us. Mistakes happen and if they had a proactive approach to things and were sincerely apologetic I wouldn't have cared. But they acted as if they have nothing to do with the mess up that happened. They did offer us a $50 gift card, which not to sound ungrateful, is really not sufficient given the level of their screw up. We spent over 2k on the bedroom set and lost a lot of time and money just to receive this incomplete bedroom set! All this time my daughter has been sleeping on the floor and the house is a mess because we can't return items into her room until they finish. I called again this morning and they said they will send someone out today from 6pm to midnight to deliver the hardware. Let's see if they actually show up. Living Spaces, you guys dropped the ball on this. Thanks for not acknowledging the mistake you made or going out of your way to fix the issue. It's completely unacceptable. read more

I was impressed with their selection of furniture and pleased with the service I received in the store. This rating is for how we were treated after the purchase. We were told that there were backordered items and that we would have to wait a month for delivery. We agreed and paid the necessary fees. We were told two weeks before the scheduled delivery that the items were ready to be delivered on the scheduled date. We confirmed the delivery and were reminded a day before the actual delivery that it was coming. We also confirmed it at that point as well. On the day of the scheduled, we received a call at the time of delivery time and were informed that we would not be receiving the items. The items were still in transit, according to the company. We would have to wait another two weeks for another scheduled delivery. Then, we received a call saying that they had one of our items on the truck and if we wanted that delivered. We agreed. After waiting another 20 minutes, a delivery person arrived at the door and apologized saying that the item was on the truck in the morning and must have been taken off because it is no longer in his truck. We understand. It's not his fault. Now a week later, the company is telling us in order to get the delivery, we need to pay extra delivery fees. For a mistake that they made. I am livid. And we will be fighting back. read more
