I wish I could give them (-5)star. They did a decent work for the first few months. And I bought couple of new clothing and wanted them to get drycleaned before I wear them so that they can last longer. (This was July) One of my clothings was returned with stains all over the shirt from the pattern on it, and there was a little tag saying " sorry we couldn't remove the stains " SRSLY???? That was $400 brand new high brand polo which I haven't worn even once ! And they're like it was already there ?? which is nonsense!! I felt even more offended since they lied to me. (I normally check every clothes I put in the dry cleaning bag , and if there're any stains, I put post-it on the item) Furthermore, even worse, it took 4months to solve this issue and actually it's still not solved. (Now it's late in November) The most annoying thing is that it was very very hard to contact them with this issue. They said they reported to the manager (Will) and he will get back to me which never happened. ( When I tried to talk to the manager, they always say ' he's very busy, he's out of office, he's on a business trip .. etc) I think People there are trying to be kind but the customer service quality is not good and the response was super slow. I even had to visit them since they didn't respond me back too long. Seemed like they don't even share the claims from customers. For the first month, I had to explain every time I called them for any updates because they were like.. 'I wasn't the one who took your call, it's my first time to hear about this'. It was sssso frustrating to explain them multiple times. I'm not even sure weather I can trust their service with my high-brand clothes anymore. I'm just so worried if they ruin them again like what happened last time. And worst part is i know that it will take forever to solve the issues. UPDATE ( Jan/ 2019 ) I was very upset with them and I still am, but I didn't post that review on google and give them a last chance to make this up. Now it's already 2019 , They are dragging this issue and keeping changing their words and the ladies there are extremely rude and standing behind the manager (who never at the office and cannot be reached for last over 6 months / I'm sure there's no manager ) Seriously? I have been using Relaxx for our dry cleaning needs since we moved to San Diego in late 2007. They really are fabulous. Here's why: 1) They pick-up and return your clothes to your clothes to your house twice a week. I simply use the easy online scheduling tool to confirm the pick-up for Monday or Thursday. Then clean clothes are magically returned to me on the next Mon/Thurs. 2) The guys there are so nice. They really go out of their way to make their customers happy. A friend of mine referred me to them in the first place and before I even started using them, I got a phone call from them asking if I wanted more info, etc. It wasn't a sales-pitchy call either. It was just really niec. 3) My husband has often needed a suit cleaned by the next day and I have dropped it off at their place. The guys have done it overnight and returned it to me without my having to go back to their shop again. 4) They do a great job getting the clothes clean and tidy! Do NOT recommend this place AT ALL! Especially do not send any of your white clothes here!!! To be fair, I have to say they did a good job on my bf's business shirts (albeit the long wait). Because my bf was a first time customer, he would receive a discount and they would pick up the clothes at his workplace, I thought I'd send a couple of my garments along, too. I am completely heartbroken. I sent in one of my favorite dresses: a one piece with a white top and black skirt. First of all, I waited an additional week after all the other clothes were finished. Whoever wrote my bf the email claimed that there was excessive staining on the dress, which I thought was extremely weird, because the dress was BRAND-NEW and I wore it ONE TIME for about three hours before deciding to have it sent in. Second, they will deliver to your home free of charge. This should have been a plus, but they will leave your clothes hanging on your gate if you're not there to answer the door. Third, the disaster. The white part of my dress came back PINK. When I turned my dress around, there were three white splotches on the back (it looked like a bleach stain you'd get if your clothes were colored). I had my bf contact Relaxx DC, because I was understandably upset. Jason told my bf that the dress came that way. I have witnesses who can verify that the top was WHITE, not pink. Jason kept insisting that the dress came with bleeding, but let me ask this: the dress was brand new, I wore it once, and had it sent to RDC. I hadn't even tried to wash it myself. How/where could I have possibly gotten the bleeding?? My bf doesn't have any red/pink shirts, so the staining couldn't have come from stuffing everything into the same bag. Jason offered to take the dress back to try to fix the problem with no guarantees. IS HE KIDDING ME? Like I'm going to send ANYTHING there ever again. And like I'm going to believe he's going to do it free of charge. Cheap prices per shirt, but I do NOT trust them. I'd rather pay extra and go somewhere else. read more

DO NOT TAKE YOUR DRY CLEANING HERE!!! This is by far the WORST possible place to take your dry cleaning in all of San Diego. I have lived in San Diego my entire life and have never seen such an unprofessional and worthless business. To begin, their service is miserable. Every shirt and pair of pants I had washed came back wrinkled and filthy. They also lost articles of my clothing. When I made them aware of the lost garments the idiot owner, Jason, called me a liar and demanded payment. When he eventually located the lost garments and realized I was indeed telling the truth, he made no effort to apologize and proceeded to stalk me for payment. When I refused to pay him for his horrible excuse for dry cleaning, he became a stalker. He literally called me a minimum of 10 times a day both at my work and at my home to demand payment. This is the only negative post I have ever written on yelp and it is well warranted. If you are even remotely thinking of taking your clothes to this moron, please reconsider and save yourself a very bad experience. read more

The rating of this place being at around 3 stars is the perfect example of the damage Yelp does to local businesses. It is so frustrating to see them give validity to some ridiculous complaints. Apparently every reviewer for this dry cleaner is an "expert" launderer and has never and I mean NEVER messed up a garment washing it! Seriously people? Be fair and honest here. If you regularly take clothes to be dry cleaned at some point something will go wrong. Imagine having to handle all sorts of clothing of varying quality and always being expected to be perfect!! Let's remember that most of the clothing you buy is low quality garbage made in China....yep even that expensive shirt you bought at Nordstrom is made at the same Chinese factory as something at Forever 21. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news here. Now that I'm done with my rant I would like to point out that this place does a really great job and my boyfriend has been using them semi-weekly for a couple of years. They pick and deliver and nothing has been lost or damaged. They are accommodating and convenient. The best part is that when you call they speak English! Imagine that, the language of our land fluently spoken at a dry cleaning place! I'm sure that at some point some clothing article might be lost or damaged because of repeated cleaning but if they perform the service right 1000 times and mess up 1 shirt that's still a 5 star rating. However, it appears that I might be among the few here with some common sense. Besides after a while clothes just begin to look old from repeated cleaning and they need to be tossed. I also like that they don't use harsh chemicals. The clothes never have a weird smell and unlike other dry cleaning places you don't have to air them out before wear. I do agree that heavily stained clothing doesn't clean as well at the "Green" dry cleaners but I also feel like the clothes last longer not using harsh chemical cleaners. In my experience the more dry cleaners you take your clothes to that use different chemicals the more likely you are to end up with damaged clothing. Some of these reviews need to be taken down by Yelp. It's unfair that a dry cleaner that does such a good job is rated so low. UGH!! I would highly recommend this place and for anyone still reading this novel keep in mind that you are not hearing from ALL their customers but just a select few. One of Yelp's biggest flaws!!! The people who work the front desk are the most mentally quick dry cleaners that I've been to in San Diego. The guy with the pony tail is really fast. He should be a computer programmer or something. Excellent value. I'll take a crapload of shirts there and my total will be like $11. They do quality work too. The shirts come back and look just as I expect them to. I'm really bummed to write a bad review so I want to be honest. I was really excited to get my clothes cleaned because there was quite a few loads piled up because I had surgery and live alone so it became unmanageable for me to keep up with. I got my clothes back today and I have a pair of pants that are ripped, lint is on a lot of them, and there's stains in some shirts that I know weren't there before, they look like black smudges from a tire or something. 2 of my sweaters are shrunk and I'm really bummed about it. They weren't expensive but one was a sweater that fit me well and made me feel confident and now i can't fit into it. Everyone here is really nice and helpful but I am really bummed that some of my clothes were damaged. read more

I had a similar experience with Relaxx that many other Yelpers have posted. I received an email from Relaxx accusing me of not paying. They insisted I lived at Strata (which I don't) and that I owed them money. Only after threatening legal recourse and a complaint to the police for harassment did the emails stop. I'm so lucky I don't ever give out my phone number. The owner, I believe it was Jason, is unstable with anger management issues and will stalk you despite repeated polite attempts to correct his inaccurate accounting practices. If you know me then you know that I'm a fan of the environment. relaxx Dry Cleaning picks up and delivers to my front door. Less cars on the road means less congestion, not to mention the environmental friendly cleaning process. They used to come pick up at my work but i work from home so they moved over to the house. I thought that I would have a tough time but the transition is easy. I'm surprised to see a couple below average reviews, but then again people think that old clothes will become new again once they are clean which is not the case. Dropped a silk tie off for stain and water spot mark. Came back paid for it then figured I'd better open wrapping up and check it out. Looked the SAME AS IT DID when I dropped it off! Girl said let me bring it back To my production manager. Waited 10 More minutes she brought it out and it looked 60% better but you could still See some of the water spot stain on a sold blue silk tie. And the material was stretched where they rubbed excessively. She said they could use a more potent chemical etc...... I said don't you have quality control here? Didn't you inspect the cleaning before you wrapped it up ??? I couldn't believe they gave it to me that way. Never going there again!! I used this place twice. The first time they ripped my shirt and had to replace it. The second time when I went to pick up my 11 shirts they came out with only 3 shirts. I explained that I had dropped off 11 shirts not 3. After seeming confused and looking for a long while they finally said the other 8 shirts were not ready due to a problem with "the bagging" and I would have to come back for the other 8. I came back a few days later and they came out with 2 shirts. I explained once again that I had 8 more shirts that were due to me. I waited again while they looked for my other shirts. Finally they found them. I explained to the person my two experiences there and how bad they were. She seemed disinterested and said I could "call customer service" if I wanted to complain. I absolutely love LNDRY! The service has been absolutely amazing and the staff is always super friendly. The wash and fold service has saved me so much time and I honestly didn't realize how nice it would be to not have to do my laundry...seems like such a simple task, yet it's so nice not having to do it. I am someone who previously took months to pick up clothing at the dry cleaners. With the convenient pick up and drop off at Relaxx I never have to worry about that again. I have used Relaxx dry cleaning for at least 7 years and I have had only good experiences with them. On one occasion I had a difficult stain on a fancy dress and it required more work. The staff there (Kelly) called to let me know it would take a little longer and wanted to make sure that I didn't need the item sooner. Thoughtful customer service like that leads me write a review to sing their praises. Also as someone who tries to make smart eco-friendly choices I love that their dry cleaning is a greener solution without all of the nasty chemicals in traditional dry cleaning. I have used Relaxx for 5 or 6 years, as long as they've been in business? (that would be since they took over the business in Old Town. I followed them to their new location in Linda Vista). I use them mostly for work shirts and pants and the occasional suit. I used them once for a wedding dress (excellent results) and red wine/other spills on a light and colored dresses and more of those kinds of things with excellent results (I've made sure to point out the stains when I hand the garments over). I am pretty certain they have lost 2 or 3 of my shirts over the years, but I've never made a case of it to them. Still I am pretty confident of it. They did ruin some expensive cloth place mats - they offered to reclean them but not to pay for replacement costs. They were permanently damaged though so it was futile and I sucked it up. They also have been harsh at times on my dark colored shirts and pants, leaving some indelible lightening/ streaks & creases in odd places. Pricing is a bit higher than I think it ought to be. The turnaround is usually 3 week days. When I've asked for it sooner, it's been at a cost to me (a rush charge is applied for 2 day service - though I've only done this 2-3 times and it's been a while, so maybe that's different now). I still use them exclusively and expect I will for years to come. I'd recommend them, but be sure to inspect any special orders at time of pick up and make sure your quantities match up when you pick up! read more

Left 2 jackets with the office for pick-up registered online and 4 days later jackets clean and I got a reusable bag and tag for future use. OVER $700 worth of Damage!! When I mentioned that I was going to write a review on Yelp he said "We don't use that. Yelp is a scam. You have to pay money to keep the good reviews online. If you don't they only post the negative ones". I sent in two suits (pants with matching jacket), one longer pant that goes with one of the suits and a dress. A total of 6 items. One suit was from Banana, the second from Ann Taylor and the dress from Anthropologie. I decided to take a chance with this place since my company pays for the dry cleaning that they provide. Every item came back looking worse. The Dress: Has stains all over it and ink marks. This dress was worn once to a wedding. The Black Pants and Black Suit Jacket: The black is completely faded and doesn't match the jacket any longer. The Grey Suit: This is a BRAND NEW SUIT and now the fabric of the jacket doesn't match the pants. The pants have pen marks on them and are pilling like a sweater does at the back pocket. I called and left a voice message for Jason the owner. I received a call back from his assistant Vickie. When I told her that I had called to speak with Jason the owner she said that he was at a Doctors appointment. I gave her the run down of all of my clothes and she said that Jason would call me back. Jason called me back within 2 minutes......clearly not at Doctors appointment. When I said "Oh, I thought you were at a doctors appointment" he said "I was and just got back. Do you want me to listen to your voice message and call you back". Clearly no customer service. They asked to have me send my stuff back so they can look at them up close, which I allowed. They also told me that they were planning on keeping my items for 5-7 days. When I told the owner Jason over the phone that I wasn't okay with them keeping my items his comment was "Well, by the sound of your description, it sounds like your items are unwearable". When they called me today they told me that the dress had stains on it when it came in, which it didn't. They told me that the Gray suit looked "worn" and is pilling on the pocket from "wear". The suit is BRAND NEW. The black pants are faded because of the iron I use at my house. I don't own an iron. There was no apologies, no consoling, nothing. I will NEVER use them again. read more

I moved to the area above Thomas Jefferson School of Law and started using Relaxx because of it's close proximity to my house. I first started using there services for basic dry cleaning needs, shirts and pants with moderate success. Every 5th shirt seemed to come back "used and abused" then I used them to dry clean a Yellow "Bear" costume... YES!! a bear costume that was custom made for me that I wear 3 days out of the year. The first time the job was done, specific instructions were given to DRY CLEAN only and the suite came out looking brand new. The next time was the last time, I dropped off the costume and picked it up a week later. My stomach sank and the owner said he would re-clean and everything will be fine... came back a week later, same result... he said lemme try one more time, 1 weeks passes, same result. To top off my bad experience he charged me over $50 to take it home (approx. $68.00ish) not to mention he was laughing at me, total jerk. $200.00 in material $250.00 in creative labor and $68.00 to ruin my costume.... = very unhappy person... CUSTOMERS BEWARE!!! Please listen to what I have to say as this will save you hundreds of dollars$$$$ I used to Live in a building downtown where we had dry cleaning services and this was one of the preferred vendors to use. First, you need to realize that all dry cleaning services are not the best and the same goes for this one. All of my clothes have been dry cleaned by this company for a few years with just minimal problems. One day I relieved my clothes back, one white $150 shirt and my favorite jacket $275 that I only wear in the wintertime looked like it had been dipped in clear oil. On the front of the shirt was an outline of a clear substance that was now in the fabric and on my blue jacket elbow was the same thing. I called them and they said send it back in we will look at it. When they received both garments they called me and said they didn't know what it was and would send it out for Chemical testing. Three weeks later I get a call and now they tell me that it's not from them or their machines or any of their chemicals but it's the fabric itself. Now I'm not a scientist but the fabric on my jacket and the shirt being linen how can we have the same results with two different types of material????? Makes no sense. The Jacket is GStar and was bought at the location downtown. So now they said they would call GStar and talk to them about their fabric being flawed. Of course GStar told them their fabric would never do that. So now I'm stuck between two parties that won't take the blame for anything and it's very clear and obvious to me that the dry cleaners used to chemical on there that ruined both items. Last but not least I till this day have never received the jacket or the shirt which total over $400 back from them at all. Like I said customer beware!!! Surprised to read the negative reviews about this company. I had a positive experience with relaxx Dry Cleaning. Pleased with the quality of their dry cleaning and their drivers are very friendly. Convenient and they went out of their way to pick up and drop off our clothes when we would be home (did not want them to leave on the doorknob because we were concerned someone might take our clothes). Their prices are somewhat more expensive than dropping off clothes at your local cleaners, but the convenience of having them pickup and deliver to your home or business is worth the time you'll save. Be careful to read the fine print or you may get charged some fees you didn't anticipate (fuel surcharges, etc.) I got a gift card for half price from Half Price San Diego. read more

It should be illegal to charge a woman more to launder a basic button-up shirt than a man. Even so, most dry cleaners do. Relaxx takes it to a new level. They charge a woman 118% more to have her shirt laundered than a man will pay. That's outrageous. It is blatent discrimination. I've heard the arguments - "womens shirts are smaller and thus they don't fit on our machine press so we have to hand press them" - however, it is still unjust. Response to Relaxx's response: Nobody charges 118% more. That is outrageous. 10% more is reasonable. 118% is discrimination. read more

Like a combination of cigarettes and detergent residue. I know they use eco-friendly methods, but if these methods are ineffective, then what's the point?
