At the suggestions of our neighbor, who did some work with Merino's for the other side of their yard, I reached out to them. Gerardo responded very quickly, got the pertinent details from my yard requirements, and showed up precisely when he said he would. They put together proposal, which was very competitive compared to the other ones, and I also had seen their work that was done on the other side of the yard. I was going to be out of town at the time, so I told him I needed it to be done before I left, or after I got back. He responded very quickly and said he could come out that afternoon and start the job. He showed up as promised, got the majority of the poles set that day, and his team came back the next day and knocked out 90% of the replacement and repaired fence. They showed up a day later for the final touches she clean up! Great job! I'm planning to bring him back to do some work on the front of my fence, which will be all on my bill. As far as splitting it with my neighbor, he did an excellent job of sending split invoices to both of us, no issues there! I would definitely recommend Gerardo and Merino's again.

The owner, Raul Ramos, answered our questions and was very professional and polite. They only stopped working once for a short lunch break. They worked until the entire job was completed which was around 7:00 pm. Our yard is completely transformed. Not only did they install the watering system and the lawn but they raked under our large Cedars and put fresh compost down in the flower beds. When I reached out after discovering continued issues with their work, they deflected responsibility, provided poor customer service, and in hindsight - were unprofessional and unskilled. When I sought a quote through Yelp in looking for someone to repair a leaking sprinkler, they were quick to respond. I saw on their website that they offered free estimates so I provided my address, and after they came, demanded I pay $200+ for a consultation fee after looking around. Since I brought up the false advertising and the free quote offer on their website, they "compromised" by saying that they would put the amount towards the service if I worked with them. This was their only compromise - no apology, no leaving, just a demand that I pay the $200 for coming out, or work with them. After I agreed and accepted the offer, they did the job poorly, and kicked an underground pipe (in front of my husband, and dismissed his concerns when he noted that kicking the pipe may break it) which later began leaking. They continued to deflect responsibility when we tried to reach out about the escalated leak when our water bill increased the following month. When they did communicate with us, we were instructed to monitor the leak for a month and return with observations. Zero follow up. Then, when they came back to review the issue in person, they insisted on an additional weathering service before addressing responsibility, and would not accept any fault or offer any solutions except to have them come back in the Spring to turn the water back on....for another $200. Again, denying any culpability nor offering solutions. There was repetitive and creepy emphasis on leaving them a good review online, saying there was no issue, and continued deflection, and denial of responsibility. I don't know what kind of Jedi mind trick they're attempting here but my first hand witness and water bill speaks for itself. Beware.

Here are the key issues that surfaced during my project: Quality of Work - The cleanup and restoration work did not meet the promised standards. Despite assurances of thoroughness, some bed areas were left uncleared, with debris and weeds remaining. Additionally, items like edging and pruning that were included in the scope of services were not performed at all. Beyond the dethatching, the lawn restoration work yielded a lackluster result. Customer Communication - Written communications with GoGreen were very frustrating. After pointing out the issues that I had with the work performed, GoGreen accused me of overwatering the new seed, planning to never pay in full, and finally of having unrealistic expectations. The issue was exacerbated after I partially paid the invoice for the cleanup work while waiting for improvements in the new lawn. After receiving some angry, defensive responses, I informed GoGreen they were no longer welcome at my home. I attempted to settle the balance by offering to pay for materials and dethatching since I now need to fix the issues myself or hire another company. I then received another email threatening me with a lien on my property if I didn't pay in full. This response felt heavy-handed and added unnecessary stress to an already frustrating experience. Despite my obvious displeasure with the outcome, I paid the outstanding balance in full. Conclusion - I'm sure after reading this review, GoGreen will write a response blaming me for the outcome. Nothing GoGreen responds with will take away the fact that I wrote this review because GoGreen failed to deliver what was promised in the original scope of work. So, if you have unlimited financial resources and have extremely low expectations regarding the outcomes of your home projects, then GoGreen might be for you. John knew exactly what I was talking about when I wanted to reseed my lawn with "shade-friendly" seed, and made the right recommendation to *not* lay down completely new sod, but instead to rejuvenate the lawn (aerating, thatching to remove moss, roughing up soil to create a better seed-bed, adding fertilizer, adding lime to balance soil PH, reseeding, and top dressing with peat). My lawn has never looked better. John's team also did a full clean-up of my yards. Everything looks great now. Highly recommend John for your landscaping needs.
