Went for the first time on Friday night and had a wonderful experience. It's a very large restaurant with plenty of parking. We were greeted and sat right away on the bar side. Maisie the bartender was also our server. She was great! She had a wonderful personality and gave us honest suggestions on the menu. Because we've never been before we took our time and she was patient and didn't rush us or keep coming over. Once we ordered we took the place in. They had cute subtle holiday decorations up. They had great music too playing a mix of old school r&b and soulful Christmas songs. The food came out a lot quicker than we expected and everything was hot and fresh! We both ordered the famous soulfood platters and the portions were very generous. The chicken was fried perfectly, golden brown, crispy and not too greasy. The Mac and cheese, fried okra and dirty rice were all flavorful. I do wish the chicken had more spice. They also make their own hot sauce which was good. But my favorite thing of all was the biscuit. It was huge. Moist and so delicious. I could have just ate that and the chicken and been happy. Throughout the meal the manager checked on us twice and that was nice. It was just great energy from everyone that worked there. Overall we are very happy with our experience, the total for 2 entrees, a waffle to go and the peach cobbler was like $60! That was amazing in itself for the large portions of fresh made food! The food was amazing! Because of our party size it took longer to get our order in. However, Marché accommodated us a best she could with it being short staffed. She was very pleasant and very professional. I hope on my return she is available to assist us again. The music was spot on as was the atmosphere. This was my second time visiting Lo Lo's couldn't wait for the cornbread muffins . I had perfectly fried catfish , very cheesy Mac& cheese, collard greens cooked perfect not to hard or over cooked . They have these amazing cornbread muffins with corn inside couldn't wait the enjoy them again. We got Mother's Day cupcakes. Nice. Service was great even though it was busy. When you have some great food thats what happens. Which lets me know the food is good. It was Mother's Day , lots of mothers and daughters and family. It was a very rainy day , once's we went inside the rain made it very nice mood , nice set-up . People were on the patio and heavy rain coming down they were taking pictures and laughing . Came here around 11 on a Sunday, with a baby and child, on the way to the airport. 5 people in the party in total. The hostess asked if we would like a booster seat or high chair for the baby, and we said high chair. She led us to our table then disappeared. A gentleman ended up coming over and asking if we needed anything, and he ended up bringing the high chair instead. Service, in general, was very slow. We waited about 5-10 minutes for a server, and then another 5-10 minutes for the drinks. Their "fresh squeezed" orange juice is definitely not fresh squeezed- it tastes like the stuff they give you on airplanes. We also asked for hot tea, which was on the menu, but our server said they don't have it, not even tea bags. Once we ordered, the food took another 15-20+ minutes to arrive. They forgot one of our items- the fat azz sandwich- and then gave us the wrong protein choice- we asked for catfish and got chicken instead. We ended up asking for to-go boxes for everything because we ran out of time. As we were leaving, we noticed that tables that had arrived after us, had already finished their meals, which meant that they likely got their food before we did. Otherwise, portions are huge. Grits were so-so, they tasted like flavorless oatmeal. Chicken was juicy and fried well, though not breaded evenly. Overall, not the place to go when you're in a rush. First impression from literally walking through the door, very nice R&B Christmas playlist and immediately seated.. however, the server took a while to come approximately 10 minutes; it is not busy and there was not a wait.. also there was a lot of associates just huddled together having a great time which I don't knock but if your customers are waiting... serve them? Our server came and we didn't know her name the whole time; no greeting just simply, "are y'all ready to order?" The chicken and waffles were okay, perfectly fried but the seasoning wasn't there (the spicy hot sauce was the best part of the meal) the waffle was softer than we preferred and the syrup was terrible. We got the hot links too and they were dry. Even if the food was average the service could have made up for it and made it a better experience but it didn't; I don't see us coming back for a long time if ever because they're better options in DFW metroplex. read more

Super cute spot. The decor, atmosphere and service are top notch. I didnt end up eating anything here but my arnold palmer was delish. I brought home an order of double d chicken and waffles for my son and he enjoyed it- chicken was a bit salty but waffles and syrup were very good with a food balance. I forgot, i did try the peach cobbler egg roll. It was fun to try something different but i wouldn't go for it again. Haven't been to LoLos in years and my family wanted to go back. The food was as good as I remember. I got the one fish one piece of chicken platter with dirty rice and greens. The greens were good! I ate all of them. Dirty rice was okay. It can use a little help and lots more meat! The fish was delicious and crispy! Fried hard like I like. The chicken wing was my favorite. I honestly tore that chicken up lol. Left no crumbs okay.. I also added a salmon croquette. The flavor was amazing but I wish it was crispier as well. The service was good. I forgot our waiters name but he was really funny and kinda cute too...but that's neither here nor there. The restaurant was nice and clean but sadly we couldn't hear the restaurant music in the back and they were jamming when we walked in! We've yet to have an off day at Lolo's. The service and food are always great! I order the Tre Tre's and hubs orders the tenders with waffles. Chicken fried just right...and the seasoning is perfect! The waffles have the right amount of cinnamon and are so buttery and tasty. Oh, and they use real butter! They also serve Kool Aid! It's so good...you def get your money's worth. We go on weeknights for dinner...because if you wait on the weekend, it's gonna be packed! That place gets lit...oh and the music is pretty awesome. Best chicken and waffles I've ever had. They have Kool-aid on tap. TAP. I've never had anything so good. I freak out on the beginning because I bit my chicken and it looked pink. My server reassured me that it was normal due to seasoning and brought me another set of drums (I had the Trey-Trey) and it was the same. I could barely finish it all. The waffles are made with cinnamon or something because they were just chef's kiss! They also have other items like a seafood platter and breakfast tacos. Can't wait to come back and try. I came in town for a conference and we decided to stop here and grab a bite to eat. We went around 11:15am. There was no wait the hostess sat us immediately. The customer service was A1. Our server was very attentive and she gave us great options to choose from so we could try a little of this and a little of that. I love how the drinks are served out of mason jars. The restaurant was decorated nice. They music in the background was a vibe as well. For my cocktail I choose the Red Rooster which was a spiked kool-aid. For my entree I ordered a KK'S which included Three piece chicken southern style, two waffles, grits & two eggs with cheese. I also ordered a side of collard greens. I was told that my total was a particular amount without seeing a ticket. I asked to see the ticket on the handheld and waitress Asia said that she couldn't back track to the particular screen but would print me one after I paid. I was okay with that because the total seemed correct. I did not know that gratuity was already included and gave Asia an additional 25 dollar tip by mistake of course. The manager Yancy was called over and said that she corrected it and gave me another receipt as if she amended the charges. Only the additional charge with the additional 25 dollars is pending on my account so she is dishonest also. This is a total deceitful practice. Brought my family here after getting lots of recommenations to try it. We came early right around opening to avoid having a wait. Our server was fantastic and gave us lots of wonderful recommendations when we told her this was our first time there. Our food came out quickly and everything we ordered was good. My favorites were as the restaurant name implies, the chicken and waffles. We had the gizzards and shrimp deviled eggs for appetizers, and they were delicious also. I hate writing this review. I really wanted to give them 5 stars. And if I had rated it after the 1st or 2nd visit I may have at least given it a 4. The third trip was the deciding rating. My rating is strictly on the food as take out. I've never eaten in the restaurant. First visit, I believe he got fish and I got chicken and sides. He loved the corn muffin so much before I looked up he'd eaten his and he was working on mine. The food was good. Chicken was fried a little harder than I like it but it was ok. The vegetables were really good. 2nd take out order months later, we both got the blackened fish. We loved it and no complaints. This last time, I decided to try the chicken again and he stuck with the blackened fish. Unfortunately, this time neither were seasoned, the vegetables were cold and the muffin had loved so much didn't leave much to be desired. Not one thing we ordered was great except the fried green tomatoes. And for almost $70 for two meals, everything needs to great. As far as take out service, they are professional and actually pretty quick. The staff was polite every time. Ambiance from what I can see was ok. But I can't speak much on that from the front. We sat at our table for over 20 minutes without seeing our waitperson, no water no nothing. Once we asked for water, another 10 minutes. Ordered adult beverages and waitperson blamed bar for our adult drinks taking over 20 minutes. Will not order Purple Rex drink again too much grape kool-aid and sugar and not any gin taste. I should've sent it back. My food was good, felt like I had bottom of barrel fried okra, everybody else's okra looked great. Salmon croquettes - were delicious!!
