I was surprised the variety of options on the menu and the big shocker was a bakery inside the restaurant. Seating was quick Service was fast Environment was loaded with fun Server was friendly and nice Food came out at a decent time. Unfortunately the food didn't come out as expected. Examples: mozzarella sticks came out uncooked and frozen inside. Eggs came out sunny side but ordered well done sunny side. Overall, the experience definitely worst coming and dining. We had a great time!

The Pancakes - there was something off with the taste...can't really put my finger on it but it just didn't taste like a pancake.

After weeks of seeing Loaded Cafe plastered all over social media, we decided it would be the perfect place to celebrate two milestones: my youngest daughter's high school graduation and my oldest daughter's birthday. Spoiler alert: the celebrations were great. The restaurant was not. We arrived right at 10:00 a.m. and quickly learned that being on time was apparently our first mistake. We stood waiting to be seated while the staff seemed far more invested in helping create Instagram content than helping actual customers. At one point I started wondering if we needed a ring light and a photographer just to get a table. When we were finally acknowledged, they seemed prepared to play a game of "Let's See Where We Can Fit Them." Before being tucked into an already over-crowded section, we asked if we could have one of the larger tables with both booth seating and chairs. They accommodated us, but after waiting around to be noticed in the first place, it felt like we had somehow become participants in our own seating strategy meeting. Then came the complimentary conchas. Listen, I love free food. But these looked less like a welcome gift and more like a witness protection program for yesterday's pastries. We received one large concha and two small ones for a party of four. Nothing says hospitality quite like making your guests do pastry math before breakfast. The menus looked like they had survived multiple breakups, two natural disasters, and at least one custody battle. Coffee took about 15 minutes to arrive. When it finally made its grand entrance, it arrived without cream. After asking for some, I was handed a bowl of creamers that appeared to have been borrowed from another table and was literally dripping with used creamer. I wasn't sure if I should pour it into my coffee or file a health report. We ordered the asada fries and discovered that asking for both green salsa and mild red salsa required paying extra. Apparently we're living in an economy where salsa has become a luxury item. Sour cream was extra too, which would have been fine if it had arrived before we had already eaten half the fries. By the time it finally showed up, the remaining fries had entered their cold-food era. The lone champion of the meal was the pambazo sliders. They looked considerably less glamorous than their Instagram photos, but unlike most of what we ordered, they actually tasted fantastic. Congratulations to the pambazo sliders for carrying the entire restaurant on their tiny little backs. Now let's talk about the burgers. My youngest daughter ordered the "Deluxe Burger." I would love to meet the person who named it because there was absolutely nothing deluxe about it. The burger was so overcooked it had the texture and personality of a hockey puck. If there was a deluxe feature, we never found it. My mom ordered the Chicken Bacon Griller but substituted the chicken for a burger patty because she wanted the sourdough bread instead of a basic burger bun. It was actually a pretty smart idea. Unfortunately, the burger patty arrived so overcooked that most of it remained untouched on the plate. The sourdough deserved a better co-star. The birthday girl ordered a pancake combo and described it as "okay," which may have been the most enthusiastic review given at our table all morning. We also ordered a stack of pancakes that somehow managed to be completely forgettable. They weren't bad. They weren't good. They simply existed. If beige had a flavor, that was probably it. The few times staff checked on us, we mentioned the burgers. Their response could best be described as professional indifference. Then they disappeared again. No refills. No water. No follow-up. No "How can we make this right?" Just a magical vanishing act worthy of a Vegas residency. The final insult came when my high school graduate didn't receive the complimentary graduation dessert we'd seen promoted on Instagram, while the birthday girl received her cake. Don't get me wrong, my daughter deserved her birthday treat. But if you're going to advertise celebrations, maybe celebrate all of them. By the time the bill arrived, we ended up spending $110 and were actively discussing where to go next for food that might actually be edible. I'll admit it. Once I'm hooked by the online buzz, I have to see for myself. Unfortunately, Loaded Cafe ended up being a perfect example of how a restaurant can look like a five-star experience on Instagram and end up being a one-star experience in real life. Loaded Cafe looks amazing online but in real life it was a total buzz kill. Loaded Cafe may be loaded with followers, but our experience was loaded with frustration.

I honestly hate having to write this review, but I would hate it even more if someone else had the same experience I did. I ordered the Crunchy Asada Chilaquiles, which are advertised as one of their best sellers. When the dish arrived, the chilaquiles did not look appetizing at all, but I tried not to judge based on appearance alone. Unfortunately, the taste matched the presentation. I'm a huge chilaquiles fan and try them everywhere I can, and sadly these were the worst I've had. The ingredients just didn't work well, and the flavors were unpleasant enough that I couldn't finish the meal. I also ordered a Mazapan Latte and I couldn't finish that either. The latte tased like straight milk with creamer, no hint of Mazapan. What made the experience even more disappointing was something that happened during our visit. I dined here on January 7, just a few days after Día de los Reyes. When we walked in, I noticed every table had a rosca de reyes, which I love. I assumed it was either something you could order or perhaps a complimentary item. Our table was given a small basket of mini pan dulce, so I thought maybe that had replaced the rosca for the day. However, shortly after we sat down, another table was seated and they were served a rosca. I asked them if they had ordered it or if it was complimentary, and they told me it was complimentary. At that point I realized our table had not been offered the same thing. I want to be clear that I can't say with certainty why this happened, but it left me feeling uncomfortable and wondering if assumptions were made about our table. I'm a light-complexioned Mexican dining with a Caucasian friend, and it felt strange that we were the only table not offered the same specialty item during a cultural holiday. WE WERE BEING DISCRIMINATED! How is it that us, the only table with Caucasian-presenting appearance were the only table that were given mini pan Dulce (the regular complimentary appetizer) instead of the specialty Rosca De Reyes all the other tables with Hispanic-appearing-guests were served. That does not sit right with me. DO NOT MAKE ASSUMPTIONS BASED ON APPEARANCES. I may seem Caucasian but I am 100% Mexican and I love Rosca De Reyes, and wanted my friend to try a Rosca, so I asked another server (ours was on break) if we too could have a Rosca and he brought one out to us. Because of the food and this experience, I don't see myself returning. I will say, however, that the bakery located in the back of the restaurant is cute and offers pastries that looked quite tasty.

And it felt that we were not the patrons they wanted in their restaurant as the table directly next to us came after us and got seated and served in a shorter time then us and service was friendly unlike our table. Food was good. And the cafe and sweets amazing which explains the screaming children I heard throughout my experience the vibe was end of the day at a daycare. I loved the matcha and wanted to try more of the baked goods...buuuuut not sure they want me or my family or people who share my phenotype there so there's that...

Came in to Loaded Café for a late breakfast with my daughter. This location splits its facility with Panecito, a Mexican bakery, which is located towards the back. Loaded itself only has inside seating with a modest amount of booths and booth/table combos. Staffing seemed to be minimal, but everyone was friendly and accommodating. They checked on us regularly to ask how the food was and to provide refills on our drinks. My daughter ordered the crunchy asada chilaquiles and I ordered their strawberry almond cheesecake crepes as a combo (adding eggs, hashbrowns, and sausage). The flavor for the chilaquiles was perfect, but the meat was on the chewy side. The combo portion of my meal was standard and hit the spot. We ended up sharing the crepes, which were a nice, dessert-like finish to our meal. The crepes were perfectly prepared with a decent amount of strawberries, cheesecake drizzle, sliced almonds, and whipped cream. Coke fans be aware, only Pepsi products are served here :(

Mixed review here... the host who welcomed us was so friendly and happy - which, is always appreciated! We were told it would be a 10 minute wait, but we ended up being sat almost immediately after we put our name down. The place itself is kind of muggy and a little warm inside, but it's a classic diner. We were given free bread as an appetizer and needed a couple minutes to look over the menu. We put our order in and got to chatting... Realizing 45 minutes had gone by, we still didn't have food and had drank all of our water, with no server in sight. Our food finally came after our server initially brought out the wrong order. We ordered a scramble and the chilaquiles. The chips and cheese on the chilaquiles were so burnt! It looked like it had been under the heat lamp for quite some time. The veggie scramble was actually very tasty and I was so thankful because of how long it took to get it. I would definitely eat that again however, I probably won't go back to this place just because of how long everything took. Over an hour and a half for a simple breakfast... pass.

I tried Loaded Cafe after seeing Instagram raves about this being the Mexican Denny's. I found my experience there to be just okay. They serve small sweet conches for their bread basket. The food is flavorful, which was always a plus. The music is at an annoying volume because we were under a speaker, so we ended up moving to another table which was helpful. The service was okay, but the price seemed high for what we got. I think your experience depends greatly on how much you are willing to overspend.

I went to this cafe with high hopes based off the reviews but was sadly let down, when i ordered my meal I substituted my hash browns for country potatoes for an extra $2 which I expected to have seasoned potatoes with bell peppers and onions because usually they have them but I was given a sad and dry breakfast . service was okay , overall a bit disappointed.:(

No wait for B fast during the week, but it gets crowded on weekends. Seems to be a younger crowd in the diner"esque" place. While lots of items are $15+ we opted for the weekday special menu. Two nice conchas (baked good) complimentary were a nice touch. Breakfasts are huge, kind of pricey. Pancakes, eggs w bacon was good ($12.99?). Pancakes were fluffy and delicious. Eggs OM were way over cooked, yoke stuck on whites. Bacon just average nothing special. French toast in the value menu was delicious as well. Also a Mexican bakery on site with lots of fresh choices.

After much thought the best way to describe this is a Mexican American dinner. It does not give cafe vibes. The food is okay , I tried the chilaquiles with chicken. The chilaquiles have cheese , sauce and hash browns on the side. I want to note chilaquiles plates do not come with any toppings like sour cream , pico de gallo etc hence why this "cafe" gives dinner vibes. This restaurant does not go the extra mile with the plates that are being served or with its service. The service was okay our waitress just took our order , delivered the food and we didn't see her again until it was time to pay. I didn't even get offered a refill on my coffee. If you're looking for quick food and okay service then I would recommend this place. But if you're looking for a brunch , cafe vibe this is not the place. I do want to note , their complementary concha's are delicious!

After seeing this pop up on recommendations in what to do in Placentia, I am so glad I came in! I came in early and was seated immediately. Alex took care of me, gave amazing service. I think I got the classic breakfast with a side of hash browns. Food was so good. Price is really great too. Super happy with this place!!!

Place is overrated. We were a party of 8 and our plates would come every 2-3 mins at a time and two or three of our orders were cold. Once we had all of our orders we were still missing a couple of drinks and we kept asking for them. We also ordered an appetizer that never came to our table and they were still trying to charge us it. I would understand if it was busy, but honestly it wasn't busy at all. read more

Came to Loaded Cafe for the first time for breakfast and we had a great experience! Fast service, fresh food, and our waitress, Lily, was very attentive. I had the chicken Cesar sandwich, the chicken was so juicy, tender and well seasoned. Also loved the fries. My husband got a chorizo torta (for $6!) And he really enjoyed it, said the refried beans tasted authentic and really good. And his grandma got the strawberry almond cream cheese crepes. She enjoyed them, she said they were different and she'd get something else the next visit but that they were stoll good, just not her first choice when we come back. And we will be coming back! read more

Please do not call it a "DISCOUNT for using CASH" if in reality cash = paying full price and Card payment equals Customers having to pay an extra fee to make up for your business expense. My #1 complaint and huge reason for the 2 star review is the fact that they added 4% charge to the check for using a Card to pay instead of paying with cash. They do have signs that say it is cheaper to pay with cash but they do not let you know that you get punished for using a card for payment. Majority of other restaurants or establishments I have been to that have a cash price typically give you a DISCOUNT for using cash but if you choose to use card you pay the listed price. At this restaurant if you pay cash you pay the amount that is listed in the menu but if you pay card they charge you a fee on top of the listed price. That seems backwards and honestly, as a patron, I should not be paying your establishment's credit card machine fee. That's just not cool. I do not appreciate this business practice. The service is also decent - I only saw my server when she took my order and when she took my check for payment - other than that, it was always other workers walking by that helped and the manager. Overall, she was nice when we saw her, but we just didn't see much of her. read more

I would give zero stars first of all I got charged an extra $25 the same day I went. I have been calling and they said 3 to 5 business days they will return the money and I waited and they actually charged my card $48.20 as I checked today 4/25 which is ridiculous. I went there alone and I just got a waffle combo no drink just water and they charge me $48 my original total was $23.20 and they had the audacity to blame it on my bank when they charge me $25 extra in the first place. Not to mention the service sucks. read more

Drove past this place yesterday and and to come back to try it. We order the Asada Chilqaulies, the Sirloin Torta, and the Swedish crepes. All together the food was just okay. The Swedish crepes was the best thing at of it all. The asada is pretty decent but the salsa they but on was nasty. Honestly food was a straight 3/5. Now let's talk about service. Was so looking forward to having the coffee flight & the complimentary pan dulce. The 3 coffee flavors were just that, super sweet with very little coffee flavor. I had to order 2 shots of espresso to add to them to lighten the sweetness of each flavor. We didn't get the complimentary sweet bread until we asked for it ( but they were warm & yummy) . Our waiter was polite but seemed a bit irritated when we mentioned our dislike of the coffee. Then we ordered our food. It was ok not bad but nothing special. Before we left we used the restroom and noticed lot's of available tables but yet they had people standing around and waiting to be seated. I overheard someone asking how Long the wait was and were told 30-35 minutes, I wondered why there were so many available tables. read more

I was hankering for biscuits and gravy. Their biscuits were savory and fluffy. The gravy flavor was excellent with ample sausage crumbles. The gravy was a little thick for my personal taste, but my personal taste is probably too thin for the average. I was still able to enjoy it unlike some competitors where it was so thick I could not even stomach it. Everything that came with it was also excellent. The hash browns were perfectly cooked. The sausages were links but they seemed skinless, so it is more like a sausage patty in texture. The eggs were well prepared to my specification. Over and above the food, the service was impeccable. The waitress was congenial and attentive. She offered to get a sample when I expressed concern about what the gravy texture might be like. She refilled my soda order once without having to be asked and asked it I would like a third as she got the bill, and she did all this while appearing quite busy with other customers. The restaurant also offered free chips with a nice green salsa and refried beans. The had several week day lunch specials that looked appealing that I will return to try out. In short, my experience there was everything you expect when going to a restaurant. read more

Second time being here and again excellent service, didn't take long to be seated. The place was nice and clean, and not to crowed. Our server Julio was very nice and helpful, he gave great recommendations on what to try out. I really enjoyed the chicken chilaquiles, and the agua de Jamaica con fresa. Everything was really good. Went in at night around 8pm, they only had one cook. Seemed like they've had a busy night our waiter was so nice and kept checking up on is. I've worked food industry jobs so why would I be upset? Also I was raised the right way so we patiently waited and enjoyed our night. Bf ordered the churro crepes omg they are so good. The nachos were nachos can't go bad but the highlight was that raspberry pineapple smoothie! So refreshing loved. I'm so excited to try their shakes, I saw a mazapán one OOFF excited to go back. This place is not what I was expecting. The pricing was a bit questionable at first based on the pictures I saw on the menu. The portions my family got were actually larger and better looking than the pictures were. I ordered the country breakfast torta, my daughter ordered the dulce de Leche crepe, and wife ordered basic breakfast eggs sausage and waffle. I would say that for the money, any of the standard breakfast items cost too much. However, their fusion items that my daughter and I had were exceptional and matched the price we paid. I didn't complain too much about the price...I mean, when the manager offered us to try a concha French toast on the house, I thought it was well worth the visit. I will go back again to try other items on the menu in the near future. read more

This was our second time going here. We had been there about 4 months ago and our experience was very good. Customer service and food was great..and we loved it. This time.. not so much and we left disappointed. We were quickly seated. It was Monday about 11:30am...so surprisingly, not alot of wait when we got there, but yes, it was busy. This review is mostly for the service. Our waiter was just cordial...he didn't provide his name...no personality and no customer service. They took forever to take our order and to bring it, but ok...again it's busy and we understand. When we finished ordering our food, the waiter immediately asked for our menus interrupting our last word (in a hurry). They never offered us any water nor did they bring us utensils. We asked once before our food was there (didn't get them) and the second time our food was there... our food got cold...waiting. We were also very excited for the pitcher of horchata and they told us they were out...how are you out of something that is a popular drink? ...also no almond milk for my coffee. My French toast and hash browns were also a little burnt...besides that, it was very good. At the end, they had added the pitcher of horchata to the bill but charge was removed when we told the waiter and who apologized for the mistake...I'm sorry to leave this review but it was a bad experience this time and it wasn't just one thing, there were many... hope that you take this in consideration. read more

FYI: this used to be IHOP. We had the same waitress this morning as we had last year when it was an IHOP. I enjoy writing reviews without my subjective feelings, which I will try to do here. We went here due to a coupon we got in the mail, which was BOGO 1 entree. Fine print said with the purchase of a beverage and max discount of $8. This review is not 1-star because the staff were really kind and the interior decor was pretty hip and cool :) The waitress recommended the carne asada chilequiles, so I got them. They came out on a small plate, less than pictured in the menu. The carne asada had good flavor, but just warm and not hot. There were fatty pieces that I could not eat, I had to spit them out. I finished the plate and left the restaurant hungry. They were $21. We learned that the coupon was only eligible if each entree ordered also was ordered with a drink. I had gotten coffee, the typical coffee one can get at a diner, refillable black coffee. It tasted slightly burned, but still tasty enough. Plus, it costed $4.19, so I didn't want it to go to waste. In order to get the $8 discount, my wife had to also order a beverage. She ordered the least expensive beverage, a coffee as well. Also, the prices on the menu are the prices if you pay with cash only. We were charged a non-cash fee on our final bill. We ended up paying cash, and we're given change and not charged that fee. It did not feel like a discount for paying with cash, it felt like avoiding the up charge for using a credit card. Overall, we will not be returning, it is too expensive for the quality and quantity of food we received. read more

Beware TAKE CASH WITH YOU otherwise you will be adding an extra 4% to your bill for your credit or debit card use. Like you are punished for using your cards. Hmm this was the first time coming here and customer service is Great! The gentlemen that greeted us at the entrance was super nice and professional. We were seated fast and they gave the kids a little paper to color. Now the waitress was nice but man she needs to give customers 5 minutes to think about what they want to order Bcz she rushed us. But she was nice so is just feedback. Now food, flavor was ok, portions and price don't match for the prices you would expect a bit more on the plate and better quality. My husband had the sirloin with hash brown and eggs. Steak was cut in pieces nothing wrong with it but if you are like me I rather have a full steak . My son got the chicken strips n fries they were ok but seem to be fried in old or reused oil. Not only were u able to see it Bcz they had a weird brown color and it tasted like burnt oil. I ordered French toast and eggs. Toast was a bit dried but good flavor. Strawberry lemonade was great Café was just café so can't go wrong with cafe. This was my first time going to the Loaded Cafe. I have driven past many times and decided to give it a try. Loaded Cafe had a very extensive menu and the prices were very fair. My Daughter and I both ordered the classic breakfast. The food was ok. The glass my orange juice came in was dirty!!! The service was very slow. I also ordered a cocktail (something pretty and fruity, though I can't remember the name). The bartender nailed it, delivering a delicious drink. My man enjoyed his Negroni. The service was great, and I loved the grassy area with fire pits for hanging out. Excellent place for our first night out in Irvine!

The rice had a good texture that had the right amount of firmness. I also tried the guacamole, which had a somewhat fluffy texture with a pleasantly light and savory flavor. While not affecting my review of this restaurant, I wish they served a mole dish.

Upon entering the establishment today, I anticipated a wait due to it being a weekend. Following a 20-minute wait, our server greeted us and provided attentive service. However, my review is based on the prices and food quality. I ordered the birria tacos, which unfortunately did not meet my expectations. The meat contained excessive fat and had an unusual taste, suggesting the use of low-quality meat. Additionally, I ordered a cheeseburger with fries, but the meat was not cooked to my desired level of doneness. I also found the onion ring burger to lack flavor. Our total bill came out to be $70 for three meals, two orange juices, and one lemonade. Notably, the complimentary conchitas served before our meal arrived were the highlight of our dining experience. Given the prices, I expected a higher standard of food quality. Consequently, I do not plan to return. read more

I've visited this place several times, and while the food is generally good, there's a recurring issue that's hard to overlook. Every dish I've tried has arrived at the table cold, even though the plate itself is hot. This suggests a delay between when the food is ready and when it's served, which is simply unacceptable. The service is friendly and attentive, but it seems there needs to be better coordination with the kitchen to ensure that orders are served promptly while the food is still hot. It's disappointing because the quality of the food deserves better presentation. I decided to give Loaded Cafe a try on two separate occasions, and unfortunately, both visits were far from pleasant. On the second visit, we ordered the red and green chilaquiles, but they were, to put it mildly, a mess. The flavors were off, and the presentation felt careless. The service didn't help either. Our server Jose P. seemed to be in a rush, barely acknowledging us, and it took ages for our coffee to arrive. To add to the frustration, it appeared they selectively decide who gets the complimentary sweet bread basket, something we didn't receive despite seeing other tables with it. After two tries, I'm not interested in coming back. There are far better breakfast options in the area. read more

First time at Loaded Cafe. We had been wanting to check it out since they opened and we finally did. There was no wait for a table of two on a Saturday afternoon which was a nice surprise for us. The place is clean and the service was great. Josefina took care of us and she made sure to explain the menu and answered our questions since again this is our first time here. The food was tasty, I had the breakfast torta and I loved it. Overall, it was a good experience and we will be coming back soon. read more

The customer service was decent, though not exceptional. I had higher expectations for the food and felt it could have been much better--the presentation was stunning, but the flavor fell short. I enjoyed two out of the three coffee flights, which were a highlight of the visit. The establishment was clean and appeared to be undergoing a remodel. Visited Loaded in Placentia for breakfast and was pleasantly surprised by their extensive menu and affordable dishes. Opted for the French toast while my wife enjoyed the pancake platter from the standard breakfast selection. The highlight was the bonus of free mini cakes for first-time customers, and we couldn't resist buying one - both were absolutely delicious! Lot's to chose from at a decent price. I've been here 3 times, ordered different items and they were all good and well served. They serve complimentary chips, salsa and beans. You definitely don't get that at Denny's or IHOP. Ruby was our waitress and she is just awesome. She assisted my husband with his "complicated order" with and constantly ensured we were taken care of. read more

What an uplifting spot for breakfast! Walls with encouraging words, management that thanks you taking time to visit, my server Lily and cook Alex who not only checked in on me but gave recommendations about food offerings. Food was good size portions and served hot! It was a good first experience and while it is 12 miles and took 25 minutes it is a place I'll visit again. read more

This was our second time here, and our food orders (the Little Piggy and Swedish crepes) were excellent both times. Our server, Lily, was extremely attentive and accommodating, ensuring that we always had coffee and that all requests (i.e., sauces on the side) were met.
