Old school 60s style interior. They make their own ice cream and make sundaes and other things. Ice cream was good everyone enjoyed it.

Hello kitty items and Ube Ice Cream

Although yesterday evening was my first visit to the Alameda location, I knew I would get the same 5 star experience I've had at Loard's in Orinda. I had a single scoop of ube in a waffle cone - beautiful purple color and I could definitely taste the ube. The employee was very nice and the shop wasn't crowded at all. Though I didn't buy any this time, I noticed they have Hello Kitty merchandise. would come back if in the area!

Loards is absolutely adorable. It's like stepping back in time with the decor they have. There's also plenty of seating outside. I needed a sweet treat after dinner so we got single scoops. They had a huge menu! A lot of classics but a lot of Asian inspired flavors like ube and pandan. They also had large sundae menu and I would love to try their black and tan one day. I got their cookies and cream. The ice cream itself was rich and creamy but not which cookie dough in my opinion. I only had like 2 or 3 cookie dough balls in them. I'm used to places like salt and straw and fentons that are heavy handed with their mix ins. A single scoop is about 5.50 which I I suppose is normal price now a days. I wouldn't make a trip out to come to loards but wouldn't mind stopping by if I was already in the plaza.

I love coming to Loard's whenever I'm in Alameda! The ice cream is decently priced and absolutely delicious. My husband and I would share the black and white sundae since he only likes vanilla ice cream and chocolate ice cream is my absolute favorite. The texture is just a little softer than how I typically like it, but it's still good quality ice cream! Having been here a few times, I can say that the staff is always so helpful and patient. They're generous with the samples, which is great because they have some unique Asian flavors. For me, it feels a bit stuffy inside if you're there for a while but there are benches and tables to eat at outside if needed.

Satisfied my craving. Inside was pretty cute. Diner like theme. Lots of choices to pick. We ordered three ice creams: Banana, Chocolate marble Cone and Classic sundae. The ice cream's were good! Great price. Team members were efficient. Our first time but will be back! Private lot outside area of mall

Somehow I had no idea this was in the South Shore Shopping Center until now! I was drawn in my the cute decor and merch that they have displayed. The shop itself has a very pink theme and they color coordinate well! I was almost overwhelmed by how many flavors they had until I saw Ube & Buko Pandan! Classic Filipino flavors that I was definitely surprised to see here. I sampled them both and was pleased to find out that it brought me tons of nostalgia. The one person working there was very happy to help and patient when I asked for samples.

Loard's is a Bay Area classic. I've been going to this location since I was a kid. Plenty of parking for this location, you can probably grab a bite to eat at any of the restaurants at South Shore or go shopping before grabbing a scoop. My favorite thing to get here is the buko pandan ice cream. They don't have pre-packed buko pandan unfortunately and they may or may not sell you a pound of it. They seem to have limited stock of it and this flavor is offered at any of the Loards locations nearby. They have booths if you want to sit and enjoy your cone nearby.

Toffee Delight Jr

I'm from Vegas, and the weather temperature is a cool 82 degrees and perfect for a sundae. Toffee Delight Jr! A young Asian woman dished up with Carmel sauce. Each bite had the perfect amount of toffee, marshmallow, and nuts. This could be habitat forming!

Nostalgic ice cream shop chain, which has apparently been around since the 1950s. I stopped in this weekend while shopping at South Shore (it was a hot day) to get a quick cooling scoop of ice cream. You can split the scoop into 2 flavors at no extra charge. I opted for the Ube coconut flavor and their popular Cookies'N Cream. The scoop seemed smaller than expected though for what you pay. Tastewise it reminded me a bit of Breyers/Dreyers ice cream but a bit creamier. They also sell Hello Kitty merchandise and have a few toy vending machines for the kids. There's booth tables inside and an outside patio seating underneath canopy for shade. Located right behind Applebee's restaurant.

Horchata, Blueberry Cheesecake, and Bubble Gum Ice Cream

My party and I arrived just before closing and were met with super friendly and considerate service. The gentleman working in the front carried an approach that made us feel like we were engaging in a very different time period. He was courteous, well spoken, and made you feel appreciated. My wife and I ordered a triple scoop to try out multiple flavors and both really enjoyed our Bubble Gum, Horchata, and Blueberry Cheesecake concoction. The Bubble Gum in particular had to be among the best flavored Bubble Gum ice cream we've had. To top it off the place had this super uplifting feel in the room which was something I don't think I've felt at the South Shore shopping center before. We definitely hope to go back sometime in the near future. 5/5.

Loard's Ice Cream is a decent spot for those looking for a quick fix. I really adore their interior and exterior design--it offers a retro dining experience that's unique compared to the other stores and restaurants nearby. They have an extensive menu featuring sundaes, ice cream, and milkshakes with a variety of flavors, including some of my favorites: buko pandan, pecan praline, ube macapuno, and matcha green tea. I forgot which ice cream flavor I ordered this time because I like to try new ones whenever I visit, but their ice cream quality is solid. Their small size is reasonably priced at $5. Customer service was quick, and the staff were friendly.

Love Lords ice cream. The junior Fudge-Ana is my go to. It's become a routine to grab ice cream after Korean BBQ next door.

Not the best ice cream, but not the worst. It's conveniently located in South Shore Shopping Center. It's a decent option after eating nearby. I do like the overall look - it gave that old timey vibe.

Pints, half gallon, and full gallon pre-packed containers are ready for you to pay and dash.

Place needs a serious makeover. Takes cards but told us that it's cash only because square doesn't work well? Lame.

The owner is rude! Not enough seats and way to hot inside for an Ice Cream spot. Love the Loard's in Castro Valley!

One of the best east bay Ice cream parlors with the old time feel. Tastes great every time, whatever the flavor or flavors you choose.

The employee would forget which flavors we wanted and rudely asked for all of us (who already got our ice cream) to leave the space as it was getting too crowded. Fair ask, yes. The way it was delivered? Just rudely said with a bad tone too. I also got charged for my ice cream when one of my friends had already paid for mine in front of me. I went to have it reversed, and he was saying how my friend paid for 6 singles and I got a junior size then there was nothing to be reversed. If anything we paid twice and for the wrong size. I get that it may have been confusing especially with big groups and long lines but it could have been handled more professionally.

I didn't think there would be any boba tea shop open after 9pm, but checking Yelp produced the suggestion for Shooting Star Cafe. We hurried over, and we were glad we found the real deal. Shooting Star Cafe is in Oakland Chinatown and it is a Hong Kong style Cafe. Besides Hong Kong style foods like baked spaghetti with steak, they have a good selection of boba tea and fruit drinks. The dining area had maybe 10 or more tables, and the tables were very much occupied by families and group of friends. There was a TV overhead, so hanging out is encouraged. We tried the classic milk tea with boba, and a citrus fruit refresher. We enjoyed our drinks. The fruit refresher was made with real fruits and tasted fresh. You can customized the sugar level, and we probably should have asked for more than 30%, as 30% was not sweet enough. We like to try the food menu next time.
