I grew up going to Loards Ice Cream in the East Bay. Great to see in SF and tasty nostalgia . Ice cream is still great and premium ingredients and owner of this shop was very nice and I will be back and telling others

Standard old fashion ice Cream shop. Large variety of flavors. I like the Ube Flavor. Service is fast and friendly. They also make sandwiches, ice cream sundaes, and milk shakes.

Came here on a Friday night after dinner craving something sweet. It was empty inside, and the walls were decorated with fun murals, giving the store a very neighborhood-friendly atmosphere. We sampled a couple of flavors, and the samples were really tiny. I got the coffee ice cream, and quite honestly this ice cream was not amazing, especially for the price. It felt very artificial and texturally was pretty icy. If I were to get ice cream for that price, I'd maybe look for another spot. Works in a pinch though if you're craving it, as it seems to be open later than some other establishments for dessert in the area.

Such a cute place next to where I live! Stopped here while on a walk with my partner and we decided to share 2 scoops of ice cream. Super large scoops and we even got to try some of them before committing. The staff was really nice and let us take our time with the order and weren't pushy. The ice cream itself wasn't too expensive, but came out immediately and we got large portion sizes for each scoop. I liked the strawberry flavor the most! The inside also looks cute, lots of color and a nice find for a spontaneous date!

A very nice addition to the Potrero Hill neighborhood! The staff is friendly (and fast!) Loards has always delivered high quality ice cream for decades. A few tables for inside seating, but it's more of a grab-and-go type of place. Street parking nearby. Be careful. You'll get hooked!

Loard's potrero hill location is finally open! This retro style ice cream parlor has a ton of different flavors as well as shakes, floats, sundaes, and even sandwiches! We stopped by on their opening day and they were super efficient with their process even though there were a bunch of people coming through. The sundae we got had a bunch of toppings, and the toffee bits were so tasty! The ice cream is really creamy (I think their website says 15% butter fat). There are some seats inside and outside, and street parking is super easy. Love that their Potrero hill location is finally open just in time for the warm weather!!

Love the paintings they have This place has a great vibe.

I'm so glad they open! Many of us were waiting for their delicious ice cream, they also have sandwiches so don't forget to try them out. Customer service was great! Definitely will be going back a few times a week.

Loard's in P Hill is finally open! I love it! The staff is friendly, the ice cream is awesome and of course the location is great! The SF library is across the street, Good Life, Thinker's Cafe and the corner store are all within arm's reach. Expect to run into your favorite locals and neighbors since Loard's is situated near to St. Teresa of Avila, the preschool, Daniel Webster Elementary school and Potrero Rec Park. The brothers Jesse and Mike are real nice guys, too!

Ok this is the 2nd time I've been here. I've only gotten ice cream. The place is clean and quiet. The ice cream tastes great and there are many flavors to choose from. The guy behind the counter seemed a bit " off " and was not as friendly as last time. Last time I got two scoops and it cost 9.99 - and there was a fair amount of ice cream - you can go to the store and easily get a half gallon of good ice cream for that price - but it is a business so since there was easily three big scoops of ice cream the price was reasonable. Today I decided to just get one scoop that cost me $5.99 - and the portion was so small - I guess he doesn't want me back as a customer. I finnished the " scoop " in three bites and they were not big bites. The ice cream taste was just great - the quantity was ridiculously small. It was about the amount of ice cream I'd hive to a child five and under. Way, way, way too small of a serving - didn't know all of a sudden ice cream was as expensive as gold!! Will not return.

It's such a cute local ice cream store with super friendly people working there. They even have a puppy cup for our dog, Ginger. There's such a great variety of ice cream!

Ordered and walked out in the span of 10 min. Very italian deli with tiramisus and cannolis. Tons of italian snacks and puff pastries, and a convenient location to pickup anything from beers/wines to premade cannoli shells and gelato. One thing to note is you cannot customize the sandwich, not sure about the pizzas, which smelled delicious. They only make speciality sandwiches on their menu, but surely can't go wrong with any of the choices. They're packed with a sizeable amount of meat as well as greens. The half was enough to fill me up and they were kind enough to wrap them separately.

This is probably the only place where the sandwiches don't taste like the store's essence…read more I mean, don't get me wrong, a store's essence from any given deli/liquor store definitely adds unique character to the sandwich and sometimes I want that in a sandwich. But when you want a sandwich that only tastes like its ingredients, Irving Subs is the spot. Their Dutch crunch is famous for being fresh and actually crunchy. Their lettuce is shredded but fresh and crispy. The salt content is just enough to bring out the flavors. And the overall composition of their sandwiches are very well proportioned. You're not getting skimped, but you're also not biting into a mouthful of a packet of deli meat. They definitely know what they are doing. Service is good and ambiance is a small humble shop on the corner of 12th Ave.

The…read moreSandwich Place on Mission street in San Francisco is an early pioneer in bringing the delicious deli sandwiches like their hot pastrami sandwich. There are other very influential sandwiches at different places in San Francisco but there is a place serving sandwiches with a Korean twist. It also is the main inspiration for a sandwich place in Brooklyn, New York called Mission Social sandwiches. It's located in the Mission District on Valencia street and it's called Rhea Deli & Market. On a Summer stroll in my old stomping grounds I landed at Rhea Deli on Valencia street. Inside you will find lots of bottles of alcohol which usually comes in handy as Rhea Market is a pit stop to load up or re-up on adult drinks to take to Dolores Park. This is the place also to get sandwiches and pair with salty chips like some in SF. They have sandwiches named after famous San Francisco Giants players like the Panda and The Freak #55 which has kimchi. I got the Buster Posey #28 and it had delicious pastrami and packed lots of flavors. It was a bit cheesy like some in SF. Don't forget to grab a bottle of your favorite drink and for me it's the Pinot Noir for Don Juan Pinot Noir and head towards Dolores Park. Make sure you" go " and take a Summer Mission "stroll" and try the Church street a name of a veggie chicken sandwich served on an acme organic " roll " and get it popping with a sandwich with jalapeño poppers called the "Marilyn Monroe" Come to Rhea Deli for some food and get some "alcohol"and make it a trip to the Mission during the four seasons of Spring, Summer, Winter, and "Fall"make sure you don't "stall "because they may run out of the sandwich called the "Booty Call "

Which I thought was funny; tri-tip is the same price as bologna??? O...k. #2. What's up with the sizes; small, medium, and large? I haven't been to Roxie's in 15-20 years. They only had one size back then. Yesterday, I got a medium, but the only thing medium was the length of the bread. What was in between the bread(meat, veggies, condiments), could have fit in a small. My sandwich was empty. Lastly #3. Weighing the meat?! WTH! Old Roxie's just made the sandwich. Eyeballed it. I watched the sandwich-makers continuously weighing 2 ounces of meat. That's not much, for $17. This isn't Roxie's. This new owner is living off the old Roxie's reputation. NEVER going back!
