If you want to get a seat you should arrive earlier because it does get busy. The staff has been friendly anytime that I've visited Lost Hours. I've been stopping by Lost Hours since they first opened, around that time they only had the owner and his father-in-law manning the coffee shop but it seems they've been able to grow the staff. They aren't as talkative as my other favorite coffee shops but I mainly grab things to-go so I don't expect much. I normally stop in for the pastries or the ham and cheese quiche. I believe a portion of the food is supplied by Phlour which is a favorite place of mine! It's nice to be able to get a dish or treat that I'll like but also support another local business. I'm not a big coffee drinker so I've only ordered coffee once during my numerous visits. The coffee wasn't memorable so I wouldn't say it was bad but probably not good enough to buy another one.
