Eclectic little grouping of shops that you cannot miss with the large lobster greeting you out front! I ordered the lobster roll with chips. The lobster roll was small but good - not a traditional lobster roll but I preferred the purity that allowed me to taste the fresh lobster. It was not covered in butter or mayo. I would have preferred the roll toasted but overall a nice roll. "Homemade" lemonade at $4 a glass was disappointing and tasted like a mix and not fresh squeezed. My husband has been overworked all year long and has been trying to save his leave days in order for us to spend a month together before he gets stationed overseas for a year on a dependent restricted tour and I go back home to Hawaii. But after almost ten months of work without a vacation he was at his breaking point and decided we were to take a week long road trip to Key West. On our way back to Savannah, we were hungry and wanted to eat somewhere that was dog friendly. That was when I found the Lobster Shack and ate at what was instantly my favorite place on our little vacation. It was pretty easy to find this delightful little place, landmarked by what seemed like a two story tall lobster. We walked over to where the Lobster Shack was and was a bit confused at first because there was no one inside the shack. After a few seconds our server came out and we made our order. Wilson and I both ordered the lobster roll with a side of chips, found a picnic table and tied Riley and Daisy up. At first I was a little disappointed at the size of our lobster roll for how much we paid, until Wilson reminded me we were paying $5 to $8 more on Key West for a roll that had just as much meat, but had more bun. The lobster roll was plain, just lettuce and lobster on a roll. But it was probably the most delicious lobster roll I ever had. It just melts in your mouth. My husband ate his in three or four bites and I almost had to hide mine because he started to eye mine. I'm sure if I left it unattended for even a second it would have ended up in his stomach. If I'm ever in the area again, I will definitely return. My biggest regret is not discovering this place earlier in our trip. read more

This place is well named as it really is a old school shack in Islamorada, staffed by authentic key folks. Pretty flowers and art adorn every corner. Simple, good food with great service. Little smaller then I am used too in Boston but the quality was great. Warm toasted bun with good size lobster in it. This was a long awaited visit as I have lived in or by Siesta Key for over five years. The place is tiny and a bit cramped, noise is high but frankly so are most of the eating establishments in Siesta Key. The obligatory order of lobster was in fact excellent and the service was prompt and kind. I am happy I tried the place and would return at some point. There is only beer and wine there so be prepared to only have those options. I can say it was not your typical tourist food that exists in the SK Village. Oh baby this place hit the spot. Went with the Key West roll and and it was a metric ton of lobster on a nice buttery bun.

Visiting this area was a lovely treat. There's a lot to do and a lot to look at, and despite the heat of a sunny day, the shaded tables were very cool. The owner of the shack was lovely; she gave us tips for our stay and surprised us with a delicious treat towards the end of our meal. We both had the lobster roll. It was different than what we had in the past and we enjoyed it. The pickle was just extraordinary (I'm not even a pickle tolerator but that brine was amazing). Found this place while looking for a place to eat on our way to Key West. It is truly a shack with a few outdoor tables for sitting. Our order taker was very friendly and brought out order out to our table. Ordered a lobster roll with a homemade pasta salad (tri-color rotini pasta with an olive in olive oil). And a quarter of a small tangerine. The lobster roll was flavorful and full of meat. My only disappointment is that the only lobster dish was the lobster roll.
