Friend of mine told me about this place. Went to check it out since she has great taste when it comes to this sort of thing. And let me tell you, it did not disappoint! One of the best poke bowls I had in a long time. Can't make a recommendation because everyone I tried was better than the next. I used to eat here when I was a kid and it was known as Lees drive in. I was very excited to try this place after reading through all the reviews and pictures.Unfortunately, this place was a let down. I got the LBS shrimp tempura bowl and choose Spicy ahi, smoked salmon and "kalbi". Spicy ahi was flavorless not to mention my fish was warm. The smoked salmon tasted okay. I didn't mind the bits of corn in it, but it tasted like it was missing an ingredient. The "Kalbi" looked super good, but turned out to be dry and tasted more like Teri beef. Rice is Hapa rice which I don't mind, but was kind of hard. Shrimp tempura was crunchy but was a little too oily and you could tell that it was previously frozen. Lastly the fries were served in a plastic container which made them sorry. Not sure if it's due to covid or how they're doing things now. Teri sauce tasted more like pancake syrup, glad we got it on the side. Overall this place is just okay. I've had better and probably wouldn't come back. Sorry. read more

Not sure which worker was THE local boy, but I could see them making my poke bowl and they took extra care in making sure it was made perfectly. I ordered the LBS special (3 choices) plus shrimp tempura. The best part about this place is that they give you an option to substitute lettuce or spinach for rice! A poke bowl turned into a salad! Lee's Drive-In served the best hamburgers on the windward side for years! New Owners are Local Boy Sushi which supposedly sell Mr. Lee's hamburgers. Today I made a visit there and was totally disappointed! The burger was so small, the bun was noticeably bigger and not enough sauce. Mr. Lee had enough sauce that it would be almost dripping when you opened the wrapper. He never toasted the bun, these people had it toasted which totally changed the taste. $3.00 for a hamburger, what a joke! Never Again! read more

I wanted to try someplace new and I had read a few good reviews of this place, so my husband and I went. We walked up to the window and were greeted immediately. The cashier was friendly and took our order. Within five minutes or so, our food was ready. I ordered the LBS special bowl with unagi, kalbi and smoked meat. The unagi was soft and delicious as was the kalbi. The smoked meat was a tad disappointing; I had two pieces that were mostly fat. I'm not sure if that's standard--since some people really like fat--or just my bad luck since I don't eat fat. My husband, who is originally from the East Coast, ordered the California roll pack. He's not used to real crab, so he declared it too fishy. (I know, I know--the real crab is a very good thing!) Since my husband is a small eater, we gave half the pack to my Dad and his fishing partner, and they both whacked it! Oh, I got a free small drink with my meal, too. After a nice afternoon the Valley of Temple we were looking for a place to have lunch. Thanks to Yelp we came across this little hole in wall. We tried their Lava bowl and the kids had their bbq chicken bowl. The Lava bowl was out of this world, my 12 year old who generally does not eat sea food enjoyed. The kids devoured the chicken bowls, no grain of rice was left behind. We also tried the Taro pie and Bread pudding. The bread pudding is the by far the best I have had, finger licking deliciousness.
