My friend and I came here for dinner based on other yelp reviews. We had the house burger and steak and cheese sandwich which were both good. The real star was the sweet potato fries with maple Cajun dipping sauce. As others have said, these are a must! Beer selection was pretty good. Our only complaint was the inside of the restaurant looked dated and the carpet seemed old but our table did seem clean. read more

First time for me tonight, and I was thrilled. One of the best tuna tartars on the Cape. It's a glorified sports bar with a very different and great menu. After hearing great things about the Local Break over the past couple months I finally had the chance to go check this place out for myself. My first thought when walking in was "Wow what a transformation!" The decor is ambiance is both inviting and makes you want to stay and hang out with your friends. My hubby and I sat at wooden high top booth with another couple. The booth was quite comfortable. So their drink selection seemed large enough to make most people happy. And they even had a list of signature cocktails which I always like seeing. We ordered food, we started with chicken wings which I was told were "the best!" Yes, they were good but not great. Their chowder if very good and has real little necks in it-shell and all. I kept it simple and ordered a burger which was very good. It was juicy and had lots of lettuce, tomato, pickles and onions to dress it up with. My hubby ordered the ribeye which was very nicely displayed and cooked perfectly. His only complaint was that it was surprisingly spicy, we should have known this in advance. But he did enjoy every bite. The other couple enjoyed their flatiron steak, and philly cheese steak. I was very pleased with the friendly service and especially happy with how quickly the food came out of the kitchen on a Friday evening. Im looking forward to returning. read more

Three visits for me now. And i wouldn't go back if I didn't like it first time. Day 1 the fricassee was the best item the three of us had. The potato pancakes were too salty and not crispy. The hot dog meat was great, as was the meat sauce, but I thought the buns needed toasting.The taco was good, and spicy, crunchy too. Day 2 take-out fish and chips. This I really liked. Day 3, the veggie burger and the cheese burger. The veggie burger had really good taste, but wasn't a solid patty. The regular hamburger was excellent. We had some nice wines, which speaks well of the full list. Two real winners are that it is open late. At last! Proof that we Easthammers are fun people after all. And a fun staff, joked with us. The other patrons were a mix of ages. Lots of laughs, sports on TV and Mac the owner present and bartending. With a little work this will be a 5 star. read more

Been coming here for a few years now, we tell everyone we can to come check it out. I've had numerous menu items and have yet to be disappointed!! Our first visit to the Local Break. The food was just ok but I thought it was expensive. A hamburger/cheese burger was $13. I had a faux Philly Cheese Steak that was also $13. Beer on tap was regional and surprising affordable at $4.50 a pint. I hope they do a great summer biz because the locals won't be going there the rest of the year. read more

If you're looking for a restaurant that can follow any allergy or food restrictions, this place is not for you. Restaurant messed up a simple request for vegan burger which is listed as their "veggie burger". Waitress double checked it's vegan and took our order. Someone else reviewed it was vegan but it's not at all - the dish not only comes with mayo (egg) but the bread is buttered and covered in egg. Not fun to take a few bites before you realize that it's covered in dairy and eggs. In fact, they do not have any egg free bread. Comped my meal but not my husbands at first, both meals which they redid on a bed of lettuce. Have never had to talk to the manager so many times at a restaurant. If they took food restrictions seriously, we might have enjoyed the burger because it tasted pretty good. read more

Our group of 7 dined at Local Break earlier tonight. Quite a transformation from the prior local bar that we knew back in the day! Lol. We had excellent dinners all around. Local Break is a great new restaurant with a uniquely amazing menu. The food was crave-worthy and will certainly bring my husband and I back. The atmosphere was comfortable and friendly. As soon as we pulled up to the restaurant, the first thing I noticed was the smiles on the faces of those who were leaving. We joined them as well when we were finished. I thought the prices were great! Our bill was so much less then we expected, even after trying a few of the fabulous drink creations available. I cannot wait to go again! read more

We love The Break! There are not a lot of restaurants in Eastham and the LB has such a fresh and unique menu. Best burgers EVER and I'd give the clam chowder a thumbs up over Legal Seafood. Be sure to try the cucumber collins infused martini. SOSOSO gooood. read more

Really dug this place, the atmosphere is very unlike the other seafood shacks and family style eateries, it has a hip, down to earth vibe, and eclectic food and drink offerings. The owner (agh! forgot his name, Matt I think?) was visible behind the bar, interactive and very friendly, even gave me a few inside scoops on where to eat in Provincetown! I visited the place twice, the veggie burger was homemade with a grilled bun, super tasty, and the tempura friend avocado tacos were delicious with horseradish dip for sweet potato fries! Drinks were tasty as well, and fairly priced, it was nice to see some representation from Somerville with Slumbrew on tap even 90 miles away! they also offer Harpoon Cider, which was deliciously refreshing and crisp, as well as some lovely cocktails. Could definitely see this as a hangout spot to watch sports, play trivia, and unwind after a long day on the beach. read more

Loved Local Break! Great food, drinks and service. I had the shrimp tacos which were delicious, Big, Tender shrimp in a lovely sauce and veggies. Nice salad came with it. My husband had the veggie burger which was made in-house and was scrumptious. We ordered a salad which we didn't need to cause the portions were ample but we're glad we did cause it was excellent, nice FRESH mixed greens, flavorful goat cheese, tomatoes etc and a nice dressing, not soggy or overbearing...just delicious. I really want to love this place but the bartenders are hit or miss with friendliness. The last time I was in the ribs were tough and although I mentioned it the only offer I got was did I want to have them put back in the oven for a few minutes. Under cooked ribs can't be fixed by reheating, they just need to be cooked enough to begin with so I said no. There was no offer of getting me something else nor was there an offer to comp the meal or a portion of it. The brussel sprouts were under cooked as well. I should say that I've had this dish there before and it was delicious which is why I ordered it again. They would do well to replace the bar stools with bigger ones for greater personal comfort and not have as many of them. The stools are petite and uncomfortable and the customers are shoulder to shoulder, it's awkward to drink and it's really awkward when eating. If the food is cooked well and it's not crowded and the bartenders are in a good mood it's a decent place but when it's not I leave irritated and that's happened a few times. read more

oh yum! we were staying a local hotel, and had only eaten blah food for the past day because it was off season down the cape and we were okay with that. then a Boston friend said Local Break and wow, we are forever grateful! the place was packed, with a wait, on a random night in February -- that said a lot to begin with. we called for a reservation for our party of 12 so we were sat immediately. drinks came quick and often. yeah for Harpoon stout! apps were good. dinner was superb! buff wings, eggplant fritters, beet salad, salmon, rib eye, kids meals -- all to die for. unique little combinations of ingredients, lovely sides, and not a crumb left on a plate. the service was fast and friendly. no one went with an empty glass or dirty plate in front of them. even the army of small children we brought with us were treated with respect instead of disdain. as a mom with a budget that doesn't always meet my desire for great food, treating my hooligans as human is huge! we are planning a spring trip back to Eastham, just for Local Break! read more
