Local Garage Doors is neither local nor equipped to replace what's needed for garage doors as advertised. And they advertise big time both with coupons and in the Grapevine! The dispatcher was friendly and provided me with models and prices as well as a time for a tech to come. I was told they wanted to earn my business and that technician would have a truck loaded with everything needed and would be able to complete the job on the initial visit. A very nice man, David, arrived, looked at my garage door and immediately told me he did NOT have any garage door replacement materials on his truck. He had driven from San Jose. He called dispatch to see if there was someone in the area who may have any of the models quoted to me. There was no one and they said they'd need to reschedule for possibly later in the week. What a waste of my time and David's time. Only positives for this company are they responded to telephone quickly and technician, David, was a good guy. But sadly, they could not earn my business because they didn't have any materials to do the job! This company was by far the most professional and timely of all the companies that I called. Not only did they text me who would be showing up, what kind of truck, what time, etc. etc., they called me and asked if the garage guy could come sooner. I was just very impressed with the customer service and then I was even more impressed with the gentleman who showed up. He was friendly, quick and definitely knew what he was doing. We had our garage door suddenly crap out on us on Monday morning. We quickly scanned our local paper ads and found this company that provided a few coupons that applied to us. I checked yelp and saw they had great reviews. I called right after and was told that their schedule window was busy but they had a tech available to come out that evening between 5-7pm. They have text based communication that confirms the time frame, a photo of the actual tech (nice for security reasons), and a link for tracking their eta (although this didn't work quite well). Their tech Kevin came on time and was polite and able to diagnose our issue. Unfortunately, he needed to come back the next day to fix our issue since it was already late in the evening and the parts would need to be picked up. The next morning Kevin came earlier than expected and the tracking your tech feature worked as well. He was very responsive and considerate the whole process. He replaced our tension springs and our rollers with nylon ones and then had to replace the garage door motor, which all needed replacements after 9 years of living with the builder grade versions. I liked how gave me options the whole way, so I felt like I had informed decisions on a big repair. All in all, he took about 4 hours to complete the job. The timeframe seemed reasonable, especially factoring in the extra time he took to tighten and grease all our door hinges and bolts. The total came at about 2k which was more than I anticipated, but I felt it's money well spent on a part of the home you shouldn't cheap out on. Kevin was pleasant to work with and I wish him the best of luck in this profession. He was in Rancho Cordova and I live in Antioch. Local? I think not. After talking him through my problem (broken spring). He gave me an estimate of over $600. Local Garage Doors installed my garage door opener and a storage rack in a very timely manner and The installer was polite and respectful and did the work quickly. Just last week, I had my trunk open and accidentally closed the garage door and it became stuck while being half open. It hit my tailgate and caused one of the cables to snap. Update: I just called Local Garage Doors to get an estimate for a new garage door with new rails. I told him the size of the door, two car garage, etc - and was given a quote of $1950 installed with old door haul away (after $250 coupon, which I already had). I asked him how much extra the rails would be - and he said it was included in the estimate. Given I had the same coupon, I will be filing a report with the BBB and my credit card company. Our garage broke in December and Local Garage Doors (LGD) was responsive in coming out to repair it. The technician was on time and friendly but unfortunately wasn't going to be able to repair the door. The technician explained that we would need everything replaced except for the motor/chain, since that was newer. He said they would replace the actual garage doors and the rails, and even pointed out a part of the railing that was bent out of shape. He gave us a verbal estimate of around $3100 for this work. We paid for the "repair", got a quote for a replacement garage door, and said we would be in touch. We got two other quotes for garage doors, one of which was below the estimate from LGD. However, since we found the LGD technician to be friendly and honest, we decided to go with LGD instead. The technician came out as scheduled and installed the garage door. (Mind you, only one installer was there, despite having a $450 charge on the bill for needing 2+ people for a supposed non standard garage door installation). The installation took a few hours and I verified the garage door was working when he left. A couple weeks later, when looking at the garage door, I realized 3/4 rails were not replaced. Also, as a result, when the garage door is closed it doesn't sit flush to the wall. We called LGD with our concerns but they stated that new rails would've been extra - this isn't true, we specifically discussed them with the technician and he assured us everything apart from the motor/cable would be replaced. Given the numerous positive reviews for this company, I am very surprised at this dishonesty. Paying over $3000 for a new garage door with all the fixings that doesn't even close flush is very disappointing. I would appreciate LGD to reach out to determine how to remediate this situation. read more

I paid $9000 for a custom carriage house garage door + install + motor LESS THAN 8 months ago. Garage door has never been reliable with being able to open. See video I'm attaching I have sent videos to Tyler (owner) - no reply At one point 2 people from his crew came out and stared at the garage door not performing and said they can't figure it out. I called the company and have called Tyler. No reply. According to my contract - Motor is under warranty. Apparently warranties and customer service after they collect the money means nothing to this company. I have since hired RELIABLE GARAGE DOOR SERVICES and of course Richard identified the issue upon coming to my home. "Garage door too heavy, not balanced correctly. Also substandard opener for carriage door - needs IBeam rail. Non compliant" I will also add this invoice that shows I have since paid $760 for my garage door to actually work. Basically warranties with this company mean nothing. If you want follow up service after you spend thousands - you won't get it. ***update*** 1/26/2020 The owner Tyler got a hold of me and offered to RE-install the motor at a friend or clients home since I've already had additional work done and it's no longer needed at my residence. If you need anything and aren't getting a reply I would highly suggest calling the owner on his cell phone versus hoping that busy staff communicate the message to him.
