Uncle Bill's steak & eggs with pancakes & a vanilla nut coffee
    Michele B.

Top notch food! Hash browns were excellent as well as the pancakes. Over easy eggs and medium steak were good too. Really enjoyed the vanilla nut iced coffee. Friendly, efficient service more so because I was sitting by regulars at the counter. They were friendly and funny too. Great diner vibes with cool trucker hats hanging everywhere and funny signs too.

Went for second breakfast with company owner, had eggs and Uncle Bills sourdough French toast, was very good. Service was attentive and there right when needed. Love the history of this place with all the photos and how it's been part of MB for so long staying true to origin. Can get loud when full, though has outdoor seating as well. Dog friendly in the outdoor seating too. Will return again!

Uncle Bill's Pancake House is a nice breakfast spot, especially because of the location so close to the beach. The food was okay--nothing really stood out, but it was a solid breakfast. Service was good and the atmosphere is relaxed with that classic beach-town feel. I think the location and being able to grab breakfast near the water is the biggest draw.

I'm giving Uncle Bill's Pancake House 4 stars mainly because of the service. It took almost 20 minutes just for someone to take our order, even though there was no wait to get seated and the place didn't seem that busy--we waited about 10-15 minutes before being seated. Once we finally ordered though, the food actually came out pretty fast. The food itself was really good, especially the burgers we got--they were definitely the highlight of the meal. The ambience was okay, nothing too special but still a decent spot for a casual meal. Overall, good food but the service timing could be improved.

Wonderful breakfast spot super close to the beach! We were greeted warmly as soon as we entered and our orders were taken within 5 minutes. I ordered the bacon and eggs with sourdough toast and hashed browns and my husband ordered the Santa Fe omelet with pancakes. Our server was very attentive and smiley. Our orders came out quickly and I was pleased that the bacon was super crispy and the hashed browns well charred! Add to that the Cholula at every table and I was set! My husband enjoyed his omelet as well. If we lived closer, this would be a favorite spot!

Both my husband and I agreed that this was the best breakfast we have ever had! The eggs with cheese were amazing and the patio was amazing to sit on! Thank you Uncle Bills for great service and amazing food!

Expo 73 Omelet with Banana nut pancakes

This cute place definitely gives good bang for your buck in terms of portion sizes. I ordered the Expo 73 Omelet ($19.50) and upgraded to the Banana nut pancakes ($3 upcharge). The omelet was packed with ham, bacon, sausage, mushrooms, onions, and American cheese topped with a meat sauce and sour cream. I asked for the hashbrowns extra crispy and they were indeed perfectly crispy! The banana nut pancakes were a good size and topped with a heaping pile of fresh banana slices and crumbled walnuts ... the $3 upcharge was worth it! Could only finish half, so took the other portion and ate it for breakfast the next day. I would come back again to try other things, but I docked a star because of the parking situation. Took a while to find parking because it's a busy street, but it's right next to the beach and a beautiful location.

super cute place, could rlly feel the history with all the photos on the wall. my french toast was delicious and my boyfriend enjoyed his pancakes. the hashbrowns were INCREDIBLE. so crispy! the breakfast sandwich was fine, but wouldn't get it again. all in all a great spot!

Uncle bills pancake house is a great breakfast / brunch spot in manhattan beach. It's in a prime location where it's situated in the heart of the area and a walkable spot to the nearby beach. I came here with a large group and thankfully only had about a 5 minute wait. We were sat inside and service was prompt. Prices are pretty reasonable and they even had specials for the week that was hanging from the wall. I ordered the French toast combo with scrambled eggs and sausage. I had really wanted hash downs as well so my friend got the egg combo with a beef patty and we were able to share. Everything was delicious. I felt satisfied once we were done.

My lady took me here for my birthday breakfast and never been to Manhattan Beach before. First the view was a million dollar view from our table. Then staff was excellent very engaging the whole time. The pancakes was so fluffy and potatoes was yummy. Kelly was our server brought out these banana muffins with creamy butter wow. She had omelette with bacon and looked yummy. The coffee was really good and the price was decent too.

HEARTY FOOD WITH AN OCEAN VIEW Met a friend for breakfast here on a late Tuesday morning around 11AM. It's in the heart of Manhattan Beach, so parking can be challenging. We missed the crowds on both ends once we parked and promptly scored a fantastic table on the patio with a sliver of an ocean view. Service was friendly and attentive. The pancakes at another table were GINORMOUS. Given the name of this place, I probably should have ordered them, but my pal wasn't interested. Instead, I opted for the Sausage and Eggs for $17.00, which came with two muffins, blueberry or chocolate chip. I ate the blueberry one, which was delicious and took home the chocolate chip one to enjoy the next day. Everything is big here! My meal consisted of a huge portion of perfectly cooked scrambled eggs, nice and crispy hash browns, and a few tasty sausages. After this wonderful massive meal, I didn't need much for the rest of the day. My companion liked her ample hot oatmeal ($10.50) and English Breakfast Tea ($4). When the sun came out, the waiter immediately put up an umbrella to shade us. It was so lovely here that we lingered over our drinks and relished the view. Inside is equally adorable. Thanks, Uncle Bill for this idyllic, funky pancake haven.

Great breakfast place both the food and service. Wait time wasn't crazy went in 12pm with a party of 5 and sat within 10 minutes. The ambiance is pretty loud since it's a pretty tight space and lots of customers. Pricing for this breakfast spot is fair and the serving sizes are large! Would definitely come back again!

Uncle Bill's is def a staple that I've wanted to try for a while after hearing so many great reviews. It offers a decent amount of paid parking around, but the wait, especially on the weekends, can be overly long. The menu was vast with a lot of good options, and the pancakes were pretty decent, along with the meat and egg selections that were offered. It would probably be a while before I go again, but I'm glad I was able to try it out.

Pro Tip: Make sure to order at the counter before you go grab a table! It operates like a standard self-serve joint, so keep that setup in mind when deciding how much you want to tip at checkout . Bacon Jam Burger: Loved the balance of sweet and salty here! Flavor-wise it was great, though I do wish the patties were a bit thicker. Hot Honey Sage Fries: A total hit! If you're a fan of sweet potato fries with a sweet-and-spicy kick, you'll thoroughly enjoy these. Green Chili Queso Fries: Yummy and cheesy, but I wished it leaned a bit heavier on the green chili flavor. Strawberry Guava Lemonade: Highly recommend! So delicious and refreshing. The shake was way too sweet for me but it did taste like delicious custard and bananas. The texture was mostly smooth but the overwhelming sweetness really kills it. The el diablo burger packed an explosive punch that set my mouth ablaze. The pepper jack and onions help with the flavor of the beef, which was itself delicious, and the sauces added complexity to the heat. Be warned that this burger is really spicy but I think the flavor of is pretty well done for a burger. All in all, worth trying again but the blemish of that shake is pretty sad for such a nice flavor.

Food: Good solid smash Burger (5 stars) which hit all the notes. We had single and double cheeseburgers which had a good amount of salty, crusty beef patties with melted cheese. The toppings added to the burger and didn't overtake the flavor of the burger itself. The sweet potato fries were thicker and were a good decent fry (4 stars). The shoestrings were clean cooked in beef tallow though I like thicker fries I understand they are still better than average (4 stars). I would come back for the food. Service: Great service counter to cook to counter. Asked on which condiments we needed and were friendly and helpful. Good service experience (4 stars). Ambiance: This is a "Batman Location". By the day it is mild mannered Big Mike's El Segundo (also a great sandwich place) but by night it becomes the Dark Knight of Burgers "Spread, Please!" That being said I appreciate the business model for them to operate and get some brick and mortar time rather than being in a food truck. Outside seating available al fresco style on the sidewalk and limited seating inside. It can get a bit hot inside due to the cooking and that adds into the summer heat when we went. Overall a 3 star experience.

A WONDERFUL SURPRISE -- SHAKE SHACK…read more I have to say, I was completely surprised by how much I enjoyed my experience at Shake Shack. I actually discovered this location by accident. I was planning to eat at Wood Ranch in Manhattan Beach, but they were extremely busy and there were no tables available. So I decided to give Shake Shack a try--and I'm so glad I did! From the moment I walked in, the atmosphere was welcoming, relaxed, and friendly. The employees were exceptionally kind, polite, helpful, and attentive. You can really feel that they want their customers to have a good experience. What impressed me most was the attitude of the staff. For example, if your fries happen to arrive cold, they don't give you an attitude or make you feel like you're bothering them. They'll replace them with a smile. That's the kind of customer service that makes a difference. And the food? WOW! The burger is absolutely delicious. It's juicy, flavorful, and satisfying. Is it a little expensive compared with an average hamburger joint? Absolutely. Shake Shack is not the cheapest place to grab a burger. But honestly, I think it's worth it. You're not just paying for a hamburger. You're paying for the quality of the food, the atmosphere, the cleanliness, the experience, and--most importantly--the way you're treated. And if you're coming with children, this place is even better. They have foosball that you can play for free, which is a fantastic touch. It gives families something fun to do while enjoying their meal. And then there's the milkshake... OH. MY. GOD. The milkshake and ice cream are extraordinary! Seriously, this is one of those desserts that makes you stop and say, "Wow, this is really good." What started as a backup plan because another restaurant was too crowded turned into a fantastic discovery. Sometimes the best restaurants are the ones you find completely by accident. Shake Shack, you earned my five stars. Great food. Wonderful atmosphere. Excellent customer service. Friendly and respectful employees. Family-friendly environment. And an incredible milkshake. Yes, it's more expensive than your average burger place--but for me, the overall experience makes it worth it. I would absolutely come back, and I would happily recommend this place to friends, families, and anyone looking for a really good burger and a welcoming atmosphere.

There are a couple of benches outside if you want to eat there, although I noticed most people seemed to grab their food to go. The food was absolutely incredible. I ordered the Cash Burger, and it was packed with flavor. The burger was perfectly seasoned, cooked just right, and honestly one of the best burgers I've had in a long time. Even a simple burger here tastes like it was made with care. The truffle Parmesan fries were another standout--crispy, flavorful, and completely addictive. We also tried two dipping sauces: the habanero cream and the chipotle. Both were delicious and added a unique twist to the burger and fries, but the habanero cream was definitely my favorite. It's not often you find sauces that elevate an already great meal this much. My only suggestion would be to improve the outdoor seating area. The benches could use a little more attention, and having a better trash setup would make eating outside much more enjoyable. One thing that really sold me was my one-year-old. She absolutely devoured the burger! I usually have to work to get her to eat anything besides quesadillas, and even In-N-Out can be hit or miss with her, so that says a lot. Overall, I'm so glad we stopped here. Between the amazing food, fun atmosphere, and beach-town vibe, I'd happily go out of my way to come back. If you're anywhere nearby, don't miss this spot!
