Great customer service. Food was a lot better the second time around! First time must have been a fluke

I decided to try this place out. However, what I didn't realize is that they serve food from multiple restaurants in the Bay Area. When you enter, there are three ordering kiosks where you can look through a menu of many different options (in the future, I will probably order ahead of time on their website). ****there is no indoor dining here. They have some outdoor dining tables. They have many different vegetarian options, which I love because it is hard to find places with good vegetarian options (many of the vegan restaurants in the Bay Area have closed during the pandemic). I actually came here intending to order fries, but when I saw that they had potato latkes, I decided to try those instead. They were ok. I wish that they would have been a bit crispier. I would probably get the fries next time. The impossible melt burger was great. It was so much food that I had to save some of it for later. My order was about $21, so this was definitely a treat for me. 4/5 stars for excellent service and having a variety of vegetarian options. read more

I'm glad Local Kitchens is here! I've ordered here several times, usually as a treat after working with my laptop at the beautiful Lafayette Library just down the street. I feel like they are truly attentive to the surveys sent to customers afterwards. After my first time ordering from Local Kitchens several months ago, I proposed that the menu have a vegan section that includes all the vegan options from the various eateries. Now that's a thing! I typically order from Senor Sisig and Oren's Hummus and most recently enjoyed some veggie lumpia through the Lumpia Company pop-up. My only very mild critique is that sometimes the online ordering portal says that it will take 20-25 minutes for an order to be ready. Then I suddenly get a notification that my order is ready after only 5 minutes! They appear to hold the orders in a way that keeps the food warm though. read more

We are still working our way through the menu. Everything has been delicious and interesting. (We had one over cooked order of fried chicken tenders which was refunded after they read our feedback for the order and reached out to us directly. That's good customer service.) Our favorites so far? Melt burger, Mac n cheese (add the bacon), fried chicken plate, any thing from the Oren's Hummus menus.. it's all so good. We drove by for months before giving it a try. I really enjoy this new addition to town! Seven eateries to choose from, all stemming from the Bay Area. The first time I came here, I got the Glaze teriyaki vegetables with Daal Lentil Haal dessert. Both were filling and quite tasty. The second time I came here with a friend and got a Senor Sisig taco for a late afternoon snack. We both agreed it was a tasty morsel. I decided today to try out the breakfast options available from Wise Sons. I got the Bodega bagel with additional cucumbers and tomatoes, and it was, of course, delicious! Looking forward to trying out more of the menu choices in the coming months! read more

I love that i can get such a variety of delicious, excellently prepared dishes. Last night we tried the Kow Soi Thai noodle soup and it was amazing (tho very expensive at $17.50). The flavors were spot on. We also had a yummy tuna roll with fresh buttery tuna and perfectly rolled roll. Exactly what the area needs. This is a ghost kitchen of several popular SF eateries. Curry up now, Orens hummus, Senor Sisig, Proposition Chicken. All of the food is pretty good but the amount of options that it brings to the area can not be passed up. delivers well on Doordash as well. read more

I saw the ads for Melt Burger and Googled "Melt Burger near me" and they gave a Lafayette, CA address that is about 5 minutes from me. When I got there I found out it was Local Kitchens. I asked if this is Melt Burger and they said yes, we do the Melt Burger Menu. You have to order from a kiosk that was not easy to navigate so they helped me order the Melt Burger, which in the advertising looked awesome. I asked how can I order it medium rate and was told they didn't cook to order but it always comes out pink. My burger was overcooked (well well done) and dry and had less than half the cheese that they show in the pictures on the online menu. It was a lousy burger and I'll never to back. I went to Local Kitchens yesterday for the second time in a week. Where else can you get food from several restaurants and ice cream from Humphrey Slocombe's all on one place?! Even in a food court you would have to get into Murillo lines. My son and I were going to go to Senor Sisig in Oakland when he discovered Local Kitchens in Lafayette. So we went there for Senor Sisig and Humphrey Slocombe's the first time. Yesterday we had food, bagels and lox, from Wise Sons and, of course, more ice cream from Humphrey Slocombe's. The staff was super friendly and singing karaoke! The food was great. Will definitely be back!!! read more

Wow! This is such a cool concept! Was chilling out at the library down the street and just drove by but didn't know what this place was all about except it got good reviews. Glad we did stop by! I live Oren Hummus, they have it on the menu and we also ordered a sushiritto roll! They basically partner with various popular restaurants and their top dishes and serve it in the restaurant. I recommend Local Kitchens especially for families who can't agree on what they want for dinner! Some of the items are a few dollars over what you might expect to pay for takeout, but I love the selection and ease of ordering a bunch of different foods on one site. So far I've had: * Proposition Chicken fried chicken salad - good - and the flipped chicken sandwich - very good! * Curry Up "Ghee Makhni" butter chicken - delicious! I kinda wanted a bigger portion or a piece of naan to soak up the yummy sauce. *Glaze vegetable teriyaki - great portion size but very salty. *Senor Sisig tacos - awesome! - and the chicken with white rice - tasty but I preferred the tacos. A salad with falafel crumbles which I thought was from Mixt but I don't see it on the menu, so maybe it's discontinued. The falafel crumbles were not a good texture anyway, however the salad was sizable and fresh. Plus, the guys who work there (it's always been men) are very friendly. When you go in, someone immediately asks your name and grabs your order. I've never had to wait. Give it a try! read more

The food was delicious and my order is always hot and fresh. I've only ordered for pick-up and the timing estimates for when my order is ready has been spot on each time. I love the concept. There is a variety of foods to choose from at one place. The Cali Sisig Burrito was excellent. The fried chicken sandwich was pretty good. The online ordering process is simple, the hours are great (open until midnight on Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights), the prices are reasonable. You cannot order from 2 different restaurants at the same time - I wanted Proposition Chicken and my husband wanted Senor Sisig. But we had to place 2 different orders through door dash. I got to try the Filipino fusion raved by Guy Fieri & loved their burrito served with Adobe garlic rice and cilantro aioli sauce plus your choice of spice level and meat (the pork is so flavorful). My dining partner choose the tikka masala burrito from Curry Up which was just as delicious. The self serve kiosk and pick up cubbies makes the entire experience contactless/Covid approved.
