Every time I have been here has been wonderful! The food is good, the service itself was great! My server this past Wednesday, Meredith, was particularly friendly and prompt. She was very accommodating with pointing out foods that I could eat because of my allergies. Another server, Joshua, has also been very friendly and accommodating during my visits. Local Lime is always a go-to for me and my friends. By far the BEST frozen margaritas I've ever tried! I usually go for "on the rocks" or some other drink that isn't so sweet. These margaritas are on another level though. They are plenty strong and not syrupy at all. We always split a salsa trio, queso, and guacamole. Overpriced but it makes up for it with the quality of the food and the drinks. The servers are always cordial and it's a nice environment. The fact that they don't take reservations combined with it usually being extremely busy in the evenings make it tough to recommend if you're short on time. This is a cute little place if you want something other than the traditional Mexican food. This place is also one of the better restaurants in the promenade. I recommend their guacamole and their chips and dip. I like their zucchini dip the best and if you are craving something sweeter, the Caribbean mango one is good too. The beer battered fried fish tacos are huge and at times a bit fishy. The carnitas is ok. The cilantro lime rice is pretty good for those who like cilantro. Local lime is a great place to have a few drinks and some good tasting food with your friends or after work with your favorite co workers. I don't go as often but when I do go it's a great experience. It is a little tight spaced but other than that the server are attentive and not tooo overbearing. I do recommend getting there earlier than your planned time to eat only because it's always busy. Whenever I go to visit my daughter and her family in Little Rock, I always tell her to pick someplace to eat that is cool and ethnic. She really came through this time. Her and her husband are trying to eat a little healthier so they went with meatless fajitas. I was expecting simply peppers and onions. Those dishes were heaped up with all kinds of veggies. I'm thinking about going vegetarian if that's the kind of food they get to eat. My wife and I each tried a different style of taco. Parking is found between the shops or behind the main strip (which I recommend since there's a lot more space out there). As you would imagine, weekday lunch had ample seating and service was very quick with few diners eating at one time. I love that you can do a sampler of 3 salsas. The chips are long strips, so you can get a bit of each salsa each time. The zucchini is interesting and topped with pumpkin seeds. I also had the Caribbean mango salsa, which was sweet. Lastly, the house tomato salsa to balance the others was a solid choice. For one person, it seemed like there were more chips than there was salsa, but I was barely able to finish the majority on my own (with an entree too). I also ordered 3 fish tacos. They're not incredibly large, but I had cilantro lime rice and black beans to add to my meal. I finished that rather quickly. Probably my favorite part was the cilantro lime rice to be honest. Nice place to visit when passing through. I wouldn't call it a unique part of Little Rock, but it was a good meal. read more

This is such a mixed review - it was just recently that we started to have issues. This is the restaurant that I always recommend to everyone, and the restaurant that is number one in my top three restaurants in his area. My mom and I eat here for lunch at least two times a month if not more. Local Lime has let us down a couple times here or there with the quality and cookery of the fajita meat, but it's still so enjoyable that our recent struggles didn't matter. We still get 3 kinds of fresh salsa, white cheese dip with corn, and we share the combination fajitas with steak and shrimp. The fajitas have a unique assortment of vegetables; our whole family now roasts radishes, because of the fajitas that we have ordered in this restaurant. My mom and I always dig for the radishes when the fajitas arrive at the table foraging for them at the bottom of the cast iron where they and the other veggies delightfully stick with just enough char; they are that good. The mild white cheese dip is a perfect creamy consistency and has little bursts of corn, and a few thinly sliced jalapeños. The salsas are amazing; I recommend the mango salsa with papaya and pineapple, the surprisingly complex chipotle salsa with blended chilies and raisins/currants of all things, and the zucchini salsa with the toasted pepitas that sit on top that might fool you into thinking that it's guacamole. The shrimp here is divine; they cut it in a way that it curls up, and it has been moist all but one time that we have visited. My mom and I even ate Local Lime in her car one day during the pandemic spilling chips amd cheese dip all over - we missed it that much. Until 4-5 months ago, the fajita steak was the best - super tender, very flavorful, and spiced perfectly. At that time, the fajita steak quality changed and has been different so many times in a row that it's regrettably safe to state that the quality of the steak has been changed indefinitely. First, my mom and I received a cast iron skillet full of steak with so much gristle that we had trouble cutting and chewing any of it. Second, we received a cast iron skillet full of fajita meat overcooked so badly that it was black and partially inedible. The third negative experience with the fajitas combined with a service issue is what prompted me to create this review - our experience was disappointing and created embarrassment for me as the person who chose the restaurant. Two weeks ago, we were celebrating my birthday as per our tradition where the birthday person gets to choose the restaurant. First, we hardly ever saw our server, and service is usually impeccable here or very close (although, my mom and I usually sit at the bar). The server was pleasantly mannered, but we couldn't figure out what she was doing where she couldn't walk back by our table. We sat without chips for 1/2 the meal, my family couldn't get soda or water refills (server apologize profusely when she realized that she didn't fill my sister-in-law's water for the entire meal after she asked), and she wouldn't clear *any* of the dishes on our table - that final part was the one that tipped it for me. She didn't clear our appetizer plates ever nor would she take our dishes when we were done eating, so we could sit and talk during my birthday meal. We had to stack our plates, and still she would not take our stacked plates; my stepfather was trying to juggle paying the bill on the table with dirty plates of food in front of him. Also, the fajitas that my fiancé and I were sharing were grossly overcooked. The steak was chewier than ever; even others at the table noticed how difficult it was for my fiancé and I to cut and chew our steak. For the 1st time, the fajitas were so over cooked that even my shrimp was affected and very rubbery. I wish that this restaurant had a dedicated person to do refills, chips, and food pick ups when the meals are ready at the pass to counterbalance busy waitstaff. To be fair, my à la carte fried chicken taco was fresh and well-cooked and my mom greatly enjoyed trying one of the fresco bowls with a perfectly balanced jalapeño ranch. My mom and I try to ignore recent issues at this restaurant, because we love it that much. It's like defending your best friend - you still love your best friend even when she messes up. The quality of the fajita meat makes it impossible for us to order what we usually do any longer without expecting a bad experience. That issue combined with the inability to get food and it's only matter when it's freshly cooked and our recent service issue soured a special occasion for me. My mom and I will return, but we will ask to be seated at the bar where we know the service is correct, and we need to decide on alternative meal(s), because we've given the steak enough chances now that it just sets us up for a poor experience if we keep ordering it. I still want to keep this restaurant as my favorite, but she really let me down during my birthday meal. read more

Local lime: YOU ARE THE BOMB. My fav textmex style bar restaurant ever! Such amazing tapas and delicious margaritas. We eat her without fail if we are in Little Rock. All their dips are a burst of flavor in your mouth. My fav is the zucchini dip: I hav been trying to recreate it at home but I feel we are better off driving to Little Rock The guacamole is perfection. The green salsa: just don't get me started. And the mango pineapple salsa is any foodies delight. The vegetarian husband loves all the food too, he tried the veggie rice bowl last time, and I haven't seen him that content at a Tex mex place. The salads are huge and tasty too. So my 2 cents: of you are in Little Rock: have one meal at Local Lime and the other one at Big Orange next door. My husband came here on a whim from a friend recommending and practically raving about the place. So while in Little Rock after his Neurology we decided to give it a shot. Oh. My. God. The atmosphere was beautiful and light, the staff was more than accommodating and well trained, (my husband and his service dog). We tried several different things and NOTHING disappointed! Khalil was our server and he was attentive and very friendly. He was also well versed in the menu, which made our choices easier and more difficult bc he enjoyed all of the menu We also had dessert and WOW! huge thumbs up!!!!!!!!! Everything was too spicy for us - all three salsas, the tacos. Chips were ok but hard and oily. I guess if you don't pay $3.75 for their 'try three salsas,' then you don't get chips and salsa automatically?.. We might come back on a weekday afternoon/early evening to try $3 guacamole and $5 margaritas, but it's kinda outta the way.... We were seated outside so there was no decor to speak of, service was just meh. (More beans recommended as a side with bean tacos?...) And I HATE when the server says there's no rush on the check, then even when you say you're paying with cash and don't need change, they still take the little black folder right away - and then know how much you've tipped them... come on, be a bit more classy than this, people! My plate did not look clean - it looked smeared with random sauce and grease. Before I start my review I would like to say this is a wonderful restaurant to eat at (normally). The only reason I gave the restaurant two stars is because of some staff members (not all). I am normally not the person to write "bad reviews" but I could not let this one sit by. (Cheese dip was delicious btw) We waited around an hour to get in. Which was 100% by choice. The hostess seats us and of course after waiting so long we are hungry and thirsty. 10 minutes go by without service. Another group of people is sat right next to us and immediately their server is with them and giving them refreshments and chips. A member of my party gets up and notifies the hostess that we haven't been served during this time. Our waitress finally comes about 5 minutes later. We get our drinks and chips and order. Our waitress does not come back for quite a while. When she does we re-order a drink from the bar. We keep waiting and waiting for our drink and we turn to look at the bar and see the drink waiting there by the waitress as she is and continues to talk to the bartender. One of us gets up to go retrieve the drink and tries to take it but the waitress grabs it and finally takes it to our table. At this point we have been at the restaurant for over an hour. The group of people mentioned earlier (a party of six and us being only three) receives all of their food. At that point we were tired, fed up and hungry. So we leave cash on the table to pay for the drinks and walk out. read more
