I love Heights Tacos and Tamales, so when I found out they are run by the same people as Local Lime, I knew I had to come here as well! Local Lime does not disappoint! They have a beautiful upscale interior, an enclosed patio space, and a smaller outdoor patio that is dog friendly. We started with the 3 dip trio (pictured), out of which I'd recommend the zucchini. Next time I'll have to try the red salsas! The drinks were great, including my mocktail that had a hint of coconut. I'll drink that daily, thanks! For entrees we got the salmon skillet (which came with 3 corn tortillas), and was tasty and generous in portion size! It was not too spicy. I ordered the carnita taco plate and loved it!! The carnitas were cooked perfectly. I would not recommend the sides I got though (slaw & pickled vegetables); next time I would get the cilantro rice instead (which I remember from Heights being SO good), and try the beans instead. This spacious, well-located restaurant has indoor and outdoor seating and looks gorgeous and modern inside. The Paloma was utterly delicious and cold and fresh with a lime garnish. The steak on the tacos was rather tough but the flavor was good. The pinto beans were pretty spicy and also the temperature of the sun. The rice was decent. The portion sizes seemed small for the $16 price. I'm used to Houston portions and food quality so I admit I'm spoiled. I'd still give this place a good rating though. read more

This place is amazing! My friend and I went this last week to celebrate her birthday with drinks, cheese dip, guac, and tacos. All the food AMAZING! (Photo pictures is the grilled chicken tacos Yummy!) Our server Jake even more AMAZING! We left and I received a phone from Local Lime while in the parking lot. They called to tell us that my friend left her Birthday card on the table. I know this is something simple but it was very nice they called to let us know. I have been to this place twice, absolutely couldn't wait to go back, first time was amazing service food drinks, second time....our waiter was such a jerk. Rolled his eyes when we asked for anything, practically threw the plates on the table .. no silverware on the table, we asked him for utensils, she never brought any, a different server was asked and she promptly brought them to us, I wish I could remember the waitress from our first visit in March, she was amazing, however the guy we had in August, he definitely needs a vacation or a new attitude to work in service. LOVE this place for it's fresh ingredients and delicious food. This is a great place for lunch to get some Mexican flavored food that really satiates the full taste palate. I feel it's related to the Heights Taco place, but really enjoy the different tacos they have here especially the fried shrimp and ribeye. Tip: They let you order a la carte! It's $4 per taco which can be pricey depending on which type you order but is sometimes worth the variety. My main go-to? The Coastal Citrus with Salmon!! It's refreshing having the fresh greens and citrus fruit, comes with TONS of avocado so much so that I have had friends say it's too much and not eat it all (come on when is there EVER too much avocado?!), and if that's not enough... it's HUGE. It's definitely a big meal despite being a salad but I love getting it every time and eating every single bite. Local Lime on the decline. My daughter wanted to celebrate her birthday at the lime, we met there and had a great time in spite of the venue. They were understaffed and our server was in the weeds. We had to ask four times for a chip refill to go with our salsa appetizer. My daughter had tacos and I had steak and shrimp fajitas. The t t tacos were good per my daughter, but the fajitas were greasy, the steak was overcooked and fatty. The server tried to upsell additional tortillas, I found out why when the nice portion of greasy food arrived with small flour tortillas. The local line is on the high end price wise (our tab was $74 and I had tee, my daughter on margarita), I don't mind paying the 30-40% more they get as compared to other restaurants where the chips and salsa are free and the flour tortillas are normal size or free for extras, but one should get good service and quality food, which we did not! I hope this was a one time hiccup, we need a consistently good upscale Mexican restaurant. read more

We only came in here for the margaritas, as we stopped by their sister restaurant (Big Orange) up the street for dinner. But, I'm so glad we did. The rumors were true, this might have been the best margarita I've ever had. And it was just the basic house blend! But, you could tell they put a lot of time and energy and care into it. The lime juice is super fresh, not some bottled crud. The tequila was very passable, and the technique was perfect. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable, and it was a perfect night cap to the evening. I would love to try the food there at some point, too. The menu looked creative and satisfying. Okay, although I live in California every time I come back home (Arkansas) I always stop by this one of a kind gem, my spot, Local Lime. On this particular night, the girls and I got together and decided to try a little bit of everything. I myself went for a so-called healthier option the spinach enchiladas, which honestly I don't know how healthy they were since it was covered with cheese and a red chili sauce of which I opted to place on the side. Let's say it loud for the ones in the back...... Delish!!!!! This was my first time trying this dish Spinach Enchiladas. Extremely fresh, tender, well-seasoned spinach and the red sauce complemented it well along with the avocado. I did try a bite or two of some of the other dishes which were full of flavor spice exactly OnPoint and consistent as usual, but I must say those borracho beans are everything I hoped for and more! I mean literally, I could have just drunk the juice. Before our food came out we did try a few of the salsas and a bowl of cheese dip which was great but my favorite salsa which I can't recall the name but it came with green seeds on top. Parking was easy to find we did, however, have to wait about 35 minutes but once we placed our name down we could track how long the wait & how many people were in front of us from the handy little text message system that they were using. Therefore alleviating the anxiety of "when will they call us" was completely taken away. Great Vibes all around I'll be sure the next time I'm in town to stop by one of my favorite spots! The wait was 45 minutes to get a seat. I had the Shrimp tacos and my wife had the Shrimp Quesadillas. Both were very good. We ended up seated at the bar and the poor girl was way too busy trying to make drinks for all the waitresses and still serving customers at the bar. But she did a fantastic job under a very stressful situation. They need to have two bar tenders behind the counter during peak times. Local Lime is a fun and trendy restaurant located in suburbs of Little Rock. We decided to give it a try after reading several positive reviews about the food. To start, I ordered a pomegranate frozen margarita. Hands down it was one of the best margaritas I've had. I only wish that my glass was bigger! Hubby had a cocktail also which he enjoyed immensely. Local Lime offers a three salsa appetizer which is quite tasty and an awesome bargain as well. We tried mango, house tomato and the verse. All were equally great, but the mango was my favorite. Overall, solid place for apps and drinks. For our main entrees, we selected Caribbean beer battered fried shrimp tacos and steak quesadilla's. The tacos were served with black beans and infused rice. The rice was amazing. The tacos were good, but if you're not a huge fan of spice, ask for the sauce on the side. Our waitress was very nice and helpful. She gave her honest and unfiltered opinions when we asked for her advice. She is an undeniable asset to the restaurant. There are a few areas for improvement. Firstly, their hours of business should be extended. Closing at 9pm during the weekday just doesn't seem to be working. We arrived at 8:30pm and I was worried that we could be turned away because it was only 30 minutes before close, but we witnessed several parties, including a party of over ten, that arrived after us. Clearly as more and more customers rushed in, I began to wonder why their closing hours are at 10pm during the week. Secondly, their dessert menu is limited. Even with limited options, I gave their version of Tres Leche a shot and I still regret adding that to the order. The cake is a 3 rum Tres Leche. I imagine that I would have been fine if they made a traditional Tres Leche and added the rum, but something about the taste and consistency missed the mark. Overall, Local Lime is a cool spot and an A-okay choice. Little Rock has many mexican restaurants and I'd dare to venture elsewhere on our next visit. If I'm in the area again, I wouldn't hesitate to stop in for drinks and appetizers. read more
