The food is good but overpriced. A kids cheeseburger and fries was $11. My son wanted lettuce and tomato on his kids burger and it was going to be an up charge. My blackened chicken sandwich with a small side Ceasar salad was close to $20! The service was fine. We sat on the patio and it had a nice vibe but the metal music was a bit loud and seemed a bit inappropriate for such a casual vibe. Probably won't come back unless someone else is paying! read more

We went for an early dinner. The building is very cool, lots of space and parking. The food was incredible! Service was good. The downside is they leave the door open from the outside. This is Texas in June...heat, humidity and bugs. They have an open patio so if I wanted to sit outside I would. Inside should be air conditioned and bug-free. Swatting flies and mosquitoes while trying to eat is a real turnoff. It's a shame because this will prevent us from returning. read more

I really wanted to like Local Public Eatery -- the space is cool, the vibe is energetic, and it clearly draws a crowd. I have to say the experience didn't quite live up to my expectations. The menu wasn't very vegetarian friendly. I wanted to try to quesadillas but only had chicken. How can you say food is made fresh if unable to accommodate entree without meat. My friends had the pizza. The drinks were a little overpriced, Sassy Sangria was too spicy for me. Local Public Eatery has potential and certainly isn't the worst option out there, but it feels like a place that relies more on atmosphere than on food. If you're just grabbing drinks and appetizer it might work. But for a good meal there are better options nearby. read more

Service is a bit slow, seems like everything has to go thru a process, can I get some sweet and low for my tea (they dont have any), more dressing for salad, 20 mins didnt get any. Incredible food for incredible prices. I've tried the fish tacos, bbq rice bowl, pizza, burger, and apple cobbler so far. (Was there in opening night so tried lots, went back twice now for pizza and bbq rice bowl). My friend loved the steak and fries as well, trying that next. (FOR $22, BTW). Also- drinks are great. Smokeshow cocktail and the spicy guava margarita are sooo good. For Dallas, this is some of the best food for the best price. I've eaten at JOEY DALLAS and this place is owned by the same people, very different vibes but the same tip tier service. Lia was amazing. Took care of our large group and never missed a beat! LPE is the place to go.

It's a new spot so it gets pretty crowded but even being new, the staff is very efficient and attentive! Some of the nuances of the menu I think could use some adjusting though - i.e. the beet humus is great but it's served with tortilla chips instead of pita/veggies which I feel is a missed opportunity because it just doesn't go with the flavor profile as well and half the chips were stale. Also, they don't have regular ranch, just a truffle ranch and while I understand truffle is popular, you either love it or hate it. I happen to hate it and love ranch so it was a major disappointment not to have a ranch option with my pizza. Overall though it's a good new spot and very dog friendly! read more
