Saturday afternoon we noticed that a lake had developed under our sink. The smell and mold was atrocious. We looked on yelp to see if we could find a plumber to come out during the weekend. After reading the Yelp review, I called Local Rooter& plumbing. They suggested we wait till the next day. The next day David showed up on time. He was very professional and pleasant. He was able to diagnose the issue right away. ( clogged air gap and broken garbage disposal) He told us the price for the part and I was able to pick it up while he fixed the clog. We've all had those moments... we think we're DIY masters and then everything quickly goes down the sewer. Well... literally in this case. My attempt at installing a new water softener rapidly ended badly as water splashed everywhere in the garage and I couldn't get anything properly shut off. An emergency call to Duy at Local Rooter produced a late night intervention and water stoppage, thus saving a lot of damage. He was able to identify that (1) the bypass valves that controlled water to my softener were ancient and thus shot (2) the water main outside wasn't actually shutting off water to the house (also ancient and done for) and (3) being the gorilla that I am I had managed to cross thread the nozzles on the back of the new softener thus causing more leaks. I agreed to order replacement parts for the softener and planned for these other repairs... and was amazed two days later when I suddenly had no hot water. Yep! My sixteen year old water heater was shot too! Another call to Duy... and he was able to send his crew out (Tai and another gentleman whose name I unfortunately didn't get) and replace the heater the same day. A few days later once the parts came in, another appointment was made (thanks Vo!) and the remaining repairs were taken care of. Quick response and professional service sums it up. I had two leaks (service water valve and shower faucets) that needed repairing and called several plumbers that were rated 5 stars on Yelp...I became a bit frustrated over a couple of days with lack of response, being on vacation with no backup or going back and forth by e-mail/text with no real action. I have read other reviews on Yelp that expressed similar frustrations so I was managing my expectations in that direction. I called Local Rooter & Plumbing in the early afternoon (about 2 pm) and Duy picked up right away and promised someone would stop by the same day before 6 pm. Sure enough, Kim and Thai arrived, inspected both leaks and gave a prompt estimate at no charge (one of the other highly rated Yelp plumbers wanted to charge me $125 just to give an estimate (huh? nope.)). Kim clearly explained what needed to be done and had everything needed to repair the main service water valve the same evening and to follow up on the shower leak the next day (since plumbing store was closed). They replaced the aging, leaking main service valve in about 1.5 hrs with an amazing array of high end tools and ingenious contraptions to do the job right. They also recommended to add a valve feeding to the irrigation line and tapped in an additional valve for a garden hose...pretty slick. Next day, they completed the job for the shower and everything is working perfectly. Excellent labor warranty as well. They were both very engaging and professional and you can see they are passionate about their work and making the customer happy. The other tidbit is their truck was tricked out not only with some high end tools/accessories but also had a customized solar panel array that provided independent power to not only recharge all of their tools but also with inverter to operate their heavy duty snakes and other tools. They are self-contained so no need to rely on any external power sources...they are definitely ready for a zombie apocalypse :). In summary, their fantastic service is what will make me a repeat customer and also motivated me to write up this detailed review. Their insane work ethic and hours (you can see they are listed as '24 hours' under hrs of operation on Yelp) while charging a very fair price and most importantly, fixed the problems quickly are unparalleled! First of all, the technician TRIEU arrived on time as promised at 8 in the night. He was very professional, explained the issue very well, with lot of patients and politeness. He was very knowledgeable at his work. Fixed the issue on our main sewer line and charged a very reasonable amount and was not trying to project the issue big and extract more money. I generally do all these types of repairs but I was stuck in a situation that would had me pulling my floor up and replacing the drain. They came in looked at the issue and resolved it in an hour... I had used and Auger on the main earlier in the day with no help, the bathrooms were on a separate line without a clean out, even tried pulling the toilet but couldn't get the snake to work there either. read more

This review is a month overdue but better late than never. Back on November 13, I had been waiting 3 days for my very clogged kitchen sink to get fixed. Our property manager sent a guy who came on 3 different occasions and was never able to fix it. It was late in the evening and we just wanted our sink fixed. I looked around on Yelp and found that these guys were open and thought to give it a shot. I called Thai at 7:30 PM and he sent David out to the house within an hour! By 10:37 David got the job done! Duy and his crew were OUTSTANDING! When I came home in the evening to my bathtub filled with the contents of my upstairs neighbors' garbage disposal, I was pretty sure I wouldn't be showering again until sometime the next afternoon if I was lucky. I found them on Yelp and after reading a few reviews. I called thinking that I'd make an appointment for the next day. NOPE, three guys with two trucks were here within 30 minutes! And less than an hour after, my tub was unclogged despite that the clog was 23 feet deep. Pricing was super reasonable. They were upfront about costs from the getgo and said they wouldn't take payment if they couldn't get the clog out. Our kitchen sink drain line became plugged, which affected our bathroom sink and washing machine. It was Halloween night, and David was sent out within 90 minutes. At his suggestion, we tried to do some coordinated plunging so he wouldn't have to charge me. After 15 minutes, we gave up and he apologized for having to do work that I would have to pay for... I just wanted to get the sink fixed, but I was really impressed with his attempts to not charge me. He also threw in some free work. I wish there is a 10-star that I can give Thai and David. They came to my house to fix a problem with water backup from our washer drainage line. The problem has been hunting us ever since we moved in. When it happened, usually a plumber came, snake the line, temporarily fix the problem and one or two years later, we have to snake it again. This time we had very bad luck, our home insurance warranty asigned a very bad plumbing company to us. They dropped a metal snake head in the line. Instead of fixing the problem, they created a bigger one and even wanted to collect payment (btw, that company's name is Performance Electric, NEVER ever use them even if your home insurance assigned them to you). We found Thai's company from yelp based on the good reviews. The fact is that every good things said in the previous review are TRUE! They are honest, thinking from the client's view, not only fixing the problem, but also providing a solution that you can benefit in the future. PLUS, their price is very reasonable! They had to open the wall in my garage to trace down the location where it is clogged. David patched the wall back after the work is done. It is the most beautiful patch I have ever seen. David even added a power outlet on top of my washer so that I don't need to use an extension cable any more. Called on a Saturday and was told that someone will be at our place by 5PM. Duy actually showed up before 5. Our problem turned out to be a broken sewer pipe instead of just a clog. We reached an agreement on what needed to be done. People were there the next day (a little later than expected but not too bad) to work on the repair. The job was not 100% completed until for a couple of weeks but it was due to the city not being able to send out inspectors soon enough. (Thanksgiving week probably didn't help.) After we failed to plunge out the problem and only made things worse, we called Local Rooter very late at 11:45pm on Monday and left them our address via text. He promptly arrived within 30 minutes. David immediately diagnosed how to fix the problem. Because the clog was impossible to reach via a snake- no convenient cleanouts, he climbed to our roof (in pitch dark) and used a hydrajet hose through air duct access to the pipes. Called Local Rooter & Plumbing after getting a no show no call from another plumbing company. I called LR&P after another company decided not to show up. It was sunday (1/3/16) and i needed to get my toilet installed. The flange on the sewage pipe was in bad shape, the anchor bolts wouldn't secure properly. Duy and his partner came to my house 30minutes after i called him. Very professional. They looked at the flange and then inspected the pipes under the house. They told me there was leakage and showed me pictures of the damage. The pipes were old and I decided to have them change the plumbing for both bathrooms. They came out on Tuesday and completed the removal and install of the toilet and plumbing by the end of the day. They came back the next day to inspect that there were no leaks and replaced the main supply line as well. It was steel & was pretty rusty. The whole time they were working on the supply line, they were getting soaked by the rain. All in all, i was very impressed by Duy and his crew. Their pricing was very competitive and the quality of their work is top notch. If i need any plumbing needs for my home or business, they would be the ones to call. They weren't pushy or tried to upsell repairs, they gave me a heads up that so and so part is still good but may need to be replaced down the line. Definitely 5 stars! read more

Fast response for the quote. Was on time. Gave a good initial quote, and when they had to go deeper (into the problem) found other real problems along the way. Gave explanations for the real problems and recommendations. Then proceeded to work on it after I approved of the repairs. Fixed the bathtub piping (removing and reinstalling water heater), snaked the kitchen and tub for a good deal. Didn't have to do any unnecessary destruction, or any for that matter.
