Karl is one of the reasons me and my family have come back to Root'd because of the connection he has made with my children and the genuinely kind soul he is. While I can't speak for others, Karl has always provided us with an amazing serving experience and has really made us feel at home at Root'd, while the food is great, his service is what has always stood out to me here. Before other people go judging him on one shitty night he had they should realize that he is just trying his best and one bad night does not define Karl, because I have seen so much more out of him. Imagine if you judged everyone based on one night off their life? Doesn't seem very fair, does it. I have gone to Root'd long enough to know the consistency and value that Karl brings to this company, and I hope everyone else can realize that too. Here is where the identity crisis starts. You walk into a nice space with red velvet decor and Italian landscapes. I had to do a double-take to make sure we were in the proper establishment. The menu has photos of their dishes, great for a visual eater like myself. We started with the soft shell crabs in a chili sauce. The crabs were lightly battered, crisp and a delicious taste. We saved the sauce to pour over our rice, an added bonus. The pad Thai was to sweet, and over-run with red onions. This is not a combo I'm familiar with, not my favorite. The pork spiced ribs with honey, tomatoes, Thai spices and sesame oil was unique and good. They fell off the bone tender. What is stuck in my craw is the message sent by the physical space. Beautiful red velvet chairs, Italian landscapes and wine bottles lining the walls does not lend to fine Thai dining in my mind. A least paint over the walls and add SOME Thai touches. Let your wait staff know living on cell phone and ignoring patrons is never a winning message. The male bathroom has a toilet covered with painted tape and several missing pieces of porcelain. Are you a serious business or a pop-up finishing off someone else's lease? Attention to details are important and help set the table way before the food arrives. I wish Ve La Thai Fine Dining the best, but question their commitment after being here for over a year, perhaps it is all intentional.

"Tonight was our first visit to Localz Bistro. We were warmly greeted by Gigi who brought us water as soon as we were seated. Our server, Abby, was cheerful and helpful with suggestions for our appetizer and entree selections. The taco appetizers were fresh and tasty; the orange tomato soup was delicious and the hamburger was the best ever! The delectable dessert was homemade pistachio and strawberry ice cream. Initially, the menu may seem eclectic, but once you delve into their story and taste the food, everything falls into place and makes perfect sense. We've sampled nearly everything on their menu, and our favorites now include the red beans and rice, a cup of gumbo, and the steak sandwich. For dessert, we often take home a piece of bread pudding.
