On our way back from Snowbird we wanted to get something to eat and Localz Bistro had great reviews and was on the way home. We were sat immediately and our waitress was super tentative. There were options for everyone on the menu - it was so hard to choose what to get. I ended up getting the buffalo chicken wrap. It was warm, crispy, spicy and most importantly, delicious. I also got to try the red pepper shrimp scampi. I am not a huge fan of red pepper so it wasn't my favorite but my friend really enjoyed it. Another member of our party got the crispy chicken sandwich that was so fresh and crispy I would go back here just for that sandwich. I've only been here once and it didn't absolutely blow my socks off BUT I am thinking this place deserves a 4.5 star. I got the chicken and greens and wowwww it was so juicy, and cooked to perfection. But it honestly was the gravy on top of the perfectly mashed potatoes that made the dish. Everything about this place was amazing. We went here the week of Christmas. Every place was super busy. We found this place. It was somewhat busy but we were able to dine in. I got the fried chicken. YUMMMM so good. My daughter got the chicken sandwich. Which looked equally amazing and she loved it. The French fries were so good we got an app of the poutine fries!! I was meeting a friend for lunch before getting my hair done at Collectiv Academy in Sandy, so we both decided on giving Localz a try. Easy parking -- lots of it. Service was excellent from the moment we walked in. We were greeted warmly and asked if we wanted to sit inside or out. Pretty large and cool area inside, and large patio outside with umbrellas for shade. We had a nice time chillin' out there for a couple hours while we chatted. Our waiter came out to greet us and brought us waters right away. I asked for beer suggestions and was pleased with what I ordered. My friend and I had a lot to catch up on, but our waiter was very patient the couple times he came to see if we wanted to order food yet. I finally decided on just a Side Caesar (non-vegan) -- I was looking for tangier dressing, and of course, anchovy is what makes that tang. Our waiter spoke highly of the Orange-Tomato Soup, so I had to try because I've never seen this anywhere else. The flavor was lovely -- the only thing I wished was for it to be a little thicker or chunkier. My friend thoroughly enjoyed her meal, and I got some of her delish fries. We enjoyed the fish tacos (perfect amount of spice) and the buffalo chicken wrap (great distribution of chicken to sauce to additions) with regular fries. Everything was cooked almost perfectly with only one of my three tacos being slightly overdone. I loved the jalapeno pico and avocado drizzle. Wow. What a fun experience and dinner!!! Boyfriend and I were driving. Looking for a last min idea for date night... boom. Yelp suggested this place. The picture that caught my eye was the Poutine... wow. Was it WORTH IT!!!! The wait was very long for a Saturday night. But we could see why after we ate! The ambience was a fun! Our waitress was lovely. The menu is super diverse which is surprising!! Our waitress said that the chef is born and raised from Louisiana. So we definitely have to try a few things! We had the poutine, the Cajun Alfredo, and the gumbo (I think it was gumbo... Kind of in the other one I'm thinking of) I don't know what kind of magic they put in the poutine... I want to eat it every day. The waitress suggested when we came back to try the mahi-mahi, fried chicken sandwich, and some others. We will absolutely be back soon. It was so good. I've now had take out and eaten in at this restaurant. The vibe is quite nice. Cozy and modern both with a laid back style that makes coming informal fine but with better than fast food quality selections. The service was decent but definitely not super friendly. The food came fast and was accurate and the gentleman checked on us once. Demeanor was not mean or rude but not friendly either. Feel like he was just there to do a job and not much pleasure in it. My guests had a poke type dish, I think it was tuna on salad and he liked it very much. My son had the fried chicken and said it was flavorful but well too salty for his tastes. I had the vegan primavera dish. The noodles were quite nice but the sauce was just your average tomato type sauce and there's wasn't much flavor other than the tomato. The portion sizes are big and the costs seem appropriate for what you get. I did have the portobello mushroom sandwich previously and I enjoyed that very much. The biggest complaint for me was that both the floor and the table were sticky. The table especially. It doesn't breed much confidence in details to cleanliness to sit down to a hugely sticky table. They clearly don't wash their rags much before wiping down their tables. Worth a try. Hoping my experience was unique and they do better on other nights. read more

Ive lost track of how many date nights the hubs and I have come here. All I can say is that working my way through their menu should be on everyone's bucket list, Christmas List or To Do List. Tonight I ordered the shrimp and grits New Orleans style and in the words of Emirl I say "bam!", Guy Ferri "holy moly" and from me, I'm just going to say "Hot Damn!" So let me just say, the food here is awesome but even more than that, it's a family business, and they make the guest feel that they are part of their family. They always say hi to us and I come here because I FEEL like it's community, and the beer is always cold, the food doesn't disappoint, and I love that my husband and I have found this as "our place" for date night. Great little hidden gem on the upper side of Sandy. Cozy, warm with great service! Dave was the best! Awesome comfort food. Plenty of great pics on Yelp so I'm not going to add any. (Chicken wings were gone before I could take a picture) Beef stroganoff was rich, but not heavy or over cooked. Jambalaya is not something we would get but the reviews push us to it. Didn't disappoint. My son practically licked the plate clean. Localz doesn't open until 5pm on Saturday night, then the tables fill fast. The flavors of the food here are so delicious, but it was ruined a bit for me by the amount of salt in the food. I've had both versions of the shrimp and grits. I liked the barbecue better than the low country because it was already salty and then they added way too much bacon to it.
