I've been to Lock 15 multiple times and have been very happy every time! The servers are excellent, the food is delicious, and their beers are amazing! There isn't a ton of options on the menu but what they do have is great. The Nashville Hot Chicken is spicy but very tasty. read more

Just down the road from Luigi's in a refurbed warehouse. Their beers are spectacular. Get the pretzel, it's huge and more than enough for two. Highly recommend. Akron needs more places like this. I'm a big salad fan and if there is a criticism, it was way too small of a portion. But I get it, I ordered a salad. I should lower my expectations. This is a great place if you're looking for a great night, all of the food is really amazing and the portions are huge! I wasn't overwhelmed with the dark beer selections, I had a sample of two and they weren't my preference, however two people that I were with loved their ipa's and some of their other beers. In general, it was your typical brewery with craft beers. In my opinion, breweries need to understand that their beer isn't what is going to separate them from other breweries, it's the location and entertainment (e.g., games, etc). The service was good and the beers were good too at reasonable prices. I think the thing that will make this brewery special is that it is RIGHT off the tow path. A great place for cyclists to stop and grab a beer. We only stopped for a couple of drinks, and I didn't really notice any entertainment, but if it's there or they add it then I could see this place being a cool spot just out of downtown Akron. read more

Went for some late night snacks and brews. Our server was very friendly and made some great recommendations for appts. We tried the dry rub and the pesto wings. They were very good, crunchy and hot! A winner! The dipping sauce for the carrot and celery sticks was thick and creamy. Beers were very good with a nice selection. Stopped by for a brew or two since they are on the Summit Brew Path tour we are doing. I can tell you we were not one bit disappointed. The place is huge with a very nice patio area and a large kitchen in plain view. The beers we tried were amazing but I'm here to talk about an appetizer dish they had. Cant remember the name of it but something to do with clams. An outstanding not to be outdone little dish. Absolutely delicious and perfectly done. My only criticism of that would be to add more of that sourdough bread as the sauce is out of this world. Please don't ever take this off the menu. Already looking forward to it again. If you like spots that offers great craft brews in a truly unique atmosphere this is the place! Right on the walk/bike trail with parking on site. Can't wait for the sunny days to return so I can enjoy the patio. I love their Instigator IPA and recently drank several of the special edition version that included local hops! Great find while visiting my sister in town. Every single server and the hostess that we encountered was so nice and quick to offer assistance. Huge factor for me in putting a 5 as a rating. We enjoyed everything from the sauerkraut balls, beer flights, Nashville hot chicken, and the porky popper sandwich. My only minor issue was that the sauerkraut balls are quite large and were cold in the middle. Still were delish though. Prices were reasonable for the large portions. Cute and very clean place. We would definitely come back especially in the summer to get a spot on the patio. read more

Had my birthday here in August, they were able to accommodate a party of 17 for me which was awesome. Honestly thought they wouldn't do a party of that size. Beer is above average. Food is delicious. Service is awesome. With a lot of breweries popping up all over Akron a lot are just mediocre brews at best. read more

This is the second time I've been here. I'm in town for business/work and this place gets good reviews AND is very close to the Courtyard hotel. My first time a few months ago was a very good experience and I would have given Lock 15 a 4 star review if I did a review then. So, please know that for context as I only give them 2 stars now. Great beer and very good food on my first visit. However, this visit was different. I sat at the bar and ordered the ribs and a side salad. Almost an hour later my food shows up. The ribs were as tender as shoe leather and lacked any char or crispyness that you might expect from ordering..... "ribs". The salad was ok and the peach cobbler was very good. But, making me wait an hour for ribs I could only describe as "tough" - was a huge disappointment ....and I was sooo looking forward to them. Maybe I'll give this place one more shot next time I'm in town. "Maybe"! read more

I'm always pleasantly surprised-- maybe I should get used to it --because it's definitely a brewpub and casual. But the food is inventive, relatively adventurous, and well prepared.
