I recently visited Locket in Rosslyn for their EAT 250 three-course dinner menu ($50) with friends. While the value was reasonable and portions were generous, this ended up being my least favorite concept from Metropolitan Hospitality Group. One of the biggest challenges was that nearly every dish seemed to have some level of spice or heat--including the Caesar Salad, which was unexpected. The food itself was well-presented, and highlights included the Chicken Milanese and the decadent Brioche Bread Pudding, though I wish there had been a brownie dessert option without nuts. Service was the biggest disappointment of the evening. The pacing felt rushed and uncoordinated, with entrees arriving before we had finished our appetizers. We had to specifically ask the staff not to fire our desserts until we completed our entrees. Throughout the meal, it was difficult to locate our server, and while he would sometimes take one person's order, he often missed that other guests at the table had empty glasses and were ready for another round. They have a good selection of food -salads, seafood, steaks, sandwiches - and portions were a good size. Cocktails were really good and definitely worth a visit for the cocktails alone. I've been to The Locket probably 3x since it's opening. I really like it. It's beautifully decorated located in the Hilton hotel with large open windows. The staff is always so friendly and attentive. Especially the first waitress I had, Mercedes. Onto the food. For appetizers I've ordered: -The oysters, 8/10. -The burger sliders, so good and pretty filling for an appetizer 9/10 -calamari, tasty and very seasoned . 8.5/10 For entrees I've had: - The 7 Oz filet mignon. It is good and despite its oz it keeps you full. Although a bit expensive. - Friends had mussels, they loved it. - I also tried the salmon which was good but not amazing. - I don't recommend the crab dip. It was a bit bland. My friends and I were staying at the Hilton hotel and decided to get breakfast here before we checked out. We ended up doing the $45 endless unlimited brunch deal but we should've just ordered from the regular menu. We ordered everything that was under "for the table", which was beignets that comes with sauce, bacon, and seasoned potatoes. We also ordered the avocado toast with an egg, the honey chicken biscuit sandwich, fruit bowls, the yogurt, and juice. Our server kept forgetting what we ordered but wouldn't come back. We would get items one at a time or things would be missing. Half the stuff came out cold as well. For example the bacon was only 4 strips for the 3 of us and it was cold. 4.5 for certain! Stopped in for the $55 special for Thanksgiving. Menu included a starter, two selections of meat, three sides, and a dessert. I had the butternut squash bisque, stuffing, mac and cheese, and whipped potatoes, as well as the filet mignon and salmon, with pumpkin cheesecake for dessert. The salmon was a bit rarer than I expected (with perfectly crispy edges) and the steak a bit less rare (and I wish it hadn't been sauced). My cocktail was similar to a bees knees and it was delicious. I also ordered a decaf Americano to have alongside my dessert. I wouldn't say the decor was surprising for a hotel, nothing much to write home about. There was some food left under my table including some french fries, possibly from lunch. There was a bit of a snafu with my water - either being a dirty glass or the pitcher having flavored water by accident - it was quickly remedied. All things considered, it was an absolutely delicious meal and a wonderful alternative to cooking. Total with included gratuity came to about $96. As everyone else has mentioned, Locket is on the first floor of the Hilton in Rosslyn. The good news is that you can park in the hotel garage, and the restaurant validates parking! Unfortunately, for me, it was downhill from there. I had their Caesar Salad and the New Frontier Bison New York Strip. There was so much dressing that the salad was more like Caesar soup. When I mentioned it to our waiter, he smiled and nodded in agreement. Unfortunately, for me, it was downhill from there. The steak was tough and tasteless. The toughness was surprising, as it goes against the purpose of a NY Strip cut. The tastelessness explains the need for all the additional flavorings that came with it. They didn't help. I noticed that someone at the table to my right ordered a burger, and someone to my left ordered a pizza. Both of those looked pretty good. very grateful that there was space at this hotel restaurant for my party at the last minute! after finishing the marine corps marathon, i planned to have a post-race celebratory lunch with my family & friends, i.e. my supporters/cheer squad, nearby. mom found this restaurant on a day's notice and booked 13.00. unfortunately, i wasn't able to reunite with them post-race until closer to 13.30, hence we pushed the reservation back, but we were still a bit late, but they still took us, THANK YOU!! we saw many other marathon finishers here, and their people, in the lobby, in the restaurant, in the restrooms. the hotel was spacious...hmm, maybe i should have stayed here the night before the race, lol! it was only a couple blocks from the finish line, and very close to the rosslyn metro station. although i wasn't super hungry (after running 26.2mi, it usually takes some time to get the appetite back) i knew i wanted to put some good carbs and protein back into my body. i chose the penne pomodoro and added a breast of grilled chicken on top. this was the perfect post-race meal for me, pasta with roasted mushrooms, english peas, tossed in marinara sauce and extra virgin olive oil. the chicken was made perfectly, if anything, a little too much b/c i couldn't quite finish it! but the pasta was perfect, not too heavy, and definitely filling up my stomach that had been thru a traumatic 42km for 4+ hrs! service was great, quick, but calm, and they let us sit there a while without being disturbed. staff even took a photo for us at the end so that i could remember this meal. read more

We were skeptical from some reviews but staying at the hotel made it so convenient so we tried it and glad we did. I really enjoyed the Cobb salad with lobster. The dressing was very good also. Husband had the salmon which he also enjoyed. Went back for breakfast. Coffee is superb. Husband had scrambled eggs with potatoes and French toast and said was all very good. I had 2 poached eggs and toast and was perfect. We will be back again before our trip ends. Service was also very good and management che,ked in on us each time. Locket is located inside the Hilton in Rosslyn, which initially made me hesitant, but the reviews looked promising. Unfortunately, the experience didn't live up to them. The word that kept coming to mind was basic. We were seated in the back section of the booths near the entrance -- a spot that felt oddly characterless and a bit forgotten. Service was a major miss. It took a long time for anyone to acknowledge us, and once our waiter did arrive, interactions felt rushed and disjointed. He seemed overwhelmed by a large nearby table and wasn't able to offer menu guidance or recommendations. The pacing was off throughout the meal. Our food arrived before the wine we ordered, which is never a great sign. The pasta itself was fine, but unremarkable -- something easily made at home, with the main positive being that it arrived hot. Dessert didn't redeem things either. The hot fudge sundae was messy and unappealing, lacking both presentation and flavor. For the price point, the food and service simply don't justify a return visit. So 3.5 stars, almost 4. So I came in to Locket on the day it snowed and it seemed everyone in the hotel decided to eat here today. Too cold to go outside. The staff were not mean or anything just seemingly overwhelmed when I got there at the end of the rush. So take the below in context. The Shadow Memory cocktail is not that good and comes with a giant ice cube in the middle and only half full. Literally. The pic is when I got it. The French Onion Soup was burnt on the top and until I got past the burnt cheese, all I tasted was burnt bitterness. And it needed a load of salt. I really came in for the soup as it looked good on all thier ads. Also it was very small. But the star of the meal was the black pepper crusted Tuna. It was delish. Seasoned perfectly and made me happy after my first 2 let downs. It's worth going in for that dish alone, but none of thier dishes are gonna fill you up on thier own, plan on getting an appetizer or dessert which I didn't try. Sorry.
