Their garlic chicken is my favorite and I ask for extra sauce. The tantalizing aroma stays with you, filling your car til you reach home. Beware of the places you eat. Had dinner on Friday 8/7, steak and shrimp plate. Unfortunately the shrimp was contaminated that lead to food poisoning. At 1:00am in the morning the diarrhea and nausea started, very bad stomach pains and cramping that lead me to the Queen's Hospital West. Haven't been here for a while. Ordered our usual...BBQ Chicken and Mushroom Chicken and was wondering if new owners, different cook or a recipe change because both tasted different. Can't pinpoint what it is but my husband and I both thought it tasted better before. They still give a LOT of food so that's a good thing! As for the Teapresso Bar that was located in Loco Moco, it's now Loco Moco Bubble Waffle. Ordered the Honeydew Smoothie $5.99 with Brown Sugar Boba for $.50 more. They ask if I wanted whip cream on top which I refused. Don't think I've ever been to a smoothie place that adds whip cream and I've been to a lot...something different. Anyway, it was delicious! If you're looking for a serious bang for your buck, this is the spot! The portions are huge, even for the "mini" sizes. We tried the garlic mahi mahi, the chicken katsu special (which was only $9 for a regular), and a garlic shrimp mini. Every dish comes with two giant scoops of rice (except the mini), plus a scoop of mac salad. My recommendation: go for the regular sizes and share family-style so you can try more. Really good flavor, came with Mac salad and white rice and a drink. Fried noodles had really good flavor. Chashu pieces, kamaboko, cabbage, carrots and thicker fried noodles with a slightly sweet savory sauce. Steak was nothing to rave about, but they give you good portion. Portions were generous - good-sized burger, lots of fries, and a nice-sized serving of mac salad. I don't usually eat fries and just eat the mac salad at other restaurants, but this time it was the reverse. I really liked their crinkle fries - nice and crunchy on the outside, and tasty! Lightly salty so I didn't need to use ketchup. Found myself searching for the smaller, thinner pieces that I could crunch on. It's a stand in line to give order and wait for food at counter type of place but still asks for tip with any purchase.
