    Pasta Trio
    Rosuna S.

Located in Montgomery Village in front of the road. Tomatina provides plenty of parking, either on the front or the back. I went on a random weekday and ordered online. They had my food ready pretty quickly. I went inside to pay and using their online service is pretty convenient. I ordered the pasta trio, and it was perfectly cooked. However, the last time I ordered it, the lasagna was missing): but I think it might have been a rush error. I have ordered it other times and it has always come out perfect but this time it was missing something. Nevertheless, the food was still really good. Overall, a place I would get good food at again.

Food - I enjoyed the apple salad. It was the perfect portion for myself. I loved the slices of apple and the lite dressing. The baked walnuts were a wonderful addition to the salad. It gave it that extra crunch that was so satisfying. Ambiance - it was Tuesday evening so seemed a little quiet but that was nice. I could actually have a nice conversation without having to climb over the table to listen. Service - when we first arrived we had to wait for the host to come. Then we waited for quite some time before anyone came over. Finally though the young lady that did serve us was so pleasant and great personality. She was attentive and accommodating. She made up for the lack of service in the beginning.

If you're going to come here come for happy hour! The appetizers are worth it in my opinion. I really enjoyed the calamari and the bruschetta. I ordered the Alfredo fettuccini with shrimp and it had minimal sauce to be honest and had minimal taste. It wasn't the worst or the best but I wouldn't order again. The service was not that great. My friend ordered the caprese salad and then she didn't realize it came with only cheese and asked the server about it and he told her that's the dish and proceeded to give us the menu to show us he wasn't lying. More than half the time our server was ignoring us. He would avoid our table for whatever reason. When I tried to ask for dessert he pretended he didn't hear me as he was rushing back and forth. He did however tell us he was in a hurry to get home because he had gifts to open.... We ended up not getting dessert and just leaving. Overall I was not impressed. Appetizers definitely worth it! Actual entrees and service not so much. Maybe we just got a bad server who knows. ‍

Mixta Salad and lemon chicken (no pasta-sub the salad)

This is a chain restaurant, and food is pretty consistent. It's not amazing food, but it's not bad! I got the lemon chicken entree, but I substituted the pasta for the mista salad! The lemon chicken is breaded with red spices, and served with a lemon wedge. I would order it again! And I love the mista salad! The service was pretty good too, I came at lunch and they were not too busy. I jumped on the Montgomery Village WiFi after lunch and finished up working.

I've ordered delivery from Tomatina a couple of times and have been very satisfied. I ordered the Chicken Parmesan and the Shrimp Pomodoro, both of which were tasty. Although Chicken Parmesan is historically a favorite dish of mine, the Shrimp Pomodoro stood out as the more memorable dish. We dined in on a Sunday afternoon during Restaurant Week for their three-course lunch menu. The restaurant was fairly empty; maybe one or two other tables were occupied, yet the welcoming service was lukewarm, and we had to request the Restaurant Week menu specifically. The ambiance was casual and family-friendly, with a balance between a cozy neighborhood Italian spot and a polished chain restaurant. While our server was kind and attentive, the pacing was off--our salads and pastas arrived simultaneously, making the meal feel very rushed. Instead of enjoying each course at a comfortable pace, we found ourselves juggling bites, trying to finish our salads before they wilted and our pasta before it cooled. Aside from that, the food and cocktails were excellent. The basil lime cocktail is a new favorite of mine--light, refreshing, and well-balanced. I could easily eat the Mixta Salad every day; it was that good. When deciding between pasta with meat or the Portobello Fettuccine, I'm glad I chose the latter because it was fantastic, and I didn't miss the meat one bit. The Penne Bolognese delivered as well. It was meaty, had tons of cheese, and was flavorful. The tiramisu didn't disappoint, either. As for the garlic rolls, I'm not sure it was worth ordering. It was pretty dry and hard to eat on its own, though the generous portions of marinara and ranch helped make up for it. Overall, it was a decent experience. Although there are better Italian restaurants in the area, I was pleased with what I ordered and will likely return.

The polenta was quite tasty - I liked the crispy crust.

I had a better experience this time here. I was at a luncheon with 20 people and I really appreciated that you can order & pay through your phone. That works nicely with a large party. The service was good. I enjoyed the polenta & a Mediterranean salad. The one very confusing part was the variety of menus. It took awhile to figure out what was actually being served at lunch. I think next I'll try their happy hour as the prices are quite reasonable.

I decided to have my 70th birthday party at this lovely restaurant. I had 20 people and they took the reservation without any down payment. I really appreciated that all they said was to tell them if it changed. The room was nice and cozy and we had a nice long table so we could all set. The staff was absolutely wonderful. They took our orders and brought us our food fairly quickly, considering there are so many of us. I had a salad that had mixed greens, gorgonzola, pickled red onions, candied walnuts, dried cranberries and honey mustard vinaigrette. It was delish I got the half order and was able to take some home. There was so much. The garlic rolls were very tasty also. My friends all had different dishes and everybody. I mean everybody loved what they got. I will definitely be going back to this place I had a great birthday and I want to thank them for that.

Stopped by Tomatina for Restaurant Week and we also happened to stop by just in time for Happy Hour. The service here was amazing, our server was so sweet and helpful! I highly recommend coming for their Happy Hour if you're not looking for too big of a meal. We ordered the Calamari, Meatballs, Bruschetta, and mini pizza! It was SO GOOD. Perfect portions. Everything was savory and had so much flavor. It was honestly better than we expected. As for the main meal we got garlic rolls, roasted salmon, and a tiramisu to go. The garlic rolls were buttery and savory. The roasted salmon however was AMAZING. I will go back just for that. The salmon was cooked perfectly with crispy edges. I didn't know it came with pasta so that was a nice surprise! It paired perfectly with the salmon and the sauce. Everything about our experience here was great. The food and the service were more than I expected. Will definitely be coming here again!

Wowww! This place is amazing! From top to bottom. Their food quality is delightful, the happy hour menu is the cherry on top! Full bar of cocktail drinks and Italian cuisine at its finest. Brick oven pizza is my favorite! Family-friendly restaurant. The service was wonderful, can't wait to bring the whole family back for dinner. Thank you!

    Chicken prosciutto rigatoni

We had a quick trip with some friends of ours for work. We decided to stop here for dinner. We ordered for appetizers the Parmesan bread and the garlic rolls. Both were stellar! My friends ordered a pizza and chicken parm, they loved it! My husband ordered a special for October which was chicken prosciutto rigatoni, he was in heaven. I ordered the lemon chicken that came with Alfredo pasta (I opted to leave out the tomatoes/peas). It was literally one of the best chickens I've ever had, the flavor was insane. Pasta was good too, only thing I wish is that the Alfredo was thicker, it was a little too thin and didn't stick to the pasta well. However it tasted great! We also got the apple crisp dessert and that was awesome too! Service was good and ambiance was peaceful! If we ever come back to Santa Rosa we will be back!

Had the luncheon special sandwich and it was awesome. The sandwich was made from a soft pliable dough and was fresh and warm and so so yummy. The salad with the sandwich was fresh and well mixed with dressing and with a good amount of toppings.

From the moment I walked in, good vibes all around. Julie is serving me at the bar and she is on point. I started with a glass of Vermentino and the Insalata Della Casa. How many house salads come with artichokes and pickled onions these days? It was light and refreshing. Moving on to the pasta course. I ordered the Scarpariello and it was surprisingly light for a pasta dish, and loaded with flavor. Yellow and red baby tomato sauce with fresh basil, Calabria chili and pecorino. I wanted a glass of red to accompany the dish and was contemplating a Primitivo. When I mentioned this to Julie, she offered an off list Primitivo without the jammy punch. It was nice, she was on to what I was trying to achieve. I ended up with a Sangiovese and my dignity. All around a great experience and I didn't feel like I was mugged after paying the bill. I really appreciate a good glass of wine for $12-15. I am exhausted by paying $20 for mediocre wine in wine country. Thank you Julie and company for appreciating your cliente. But I'm honestly not joking when I say I prefer Pizza Leah to anything I had there. I don't understand how they get the crust like this. It's perfectly chewy and just cooked exactly right. Usually I like the crust but don't love it. Here, I actually do love it. I've been here at least 15 times and I've tried pretty much everything on the menu. My two favorites are the Roo's and the Po-Tay-To. I love how the place is laid out. You can see into the kitchen, and the eating area is exactly what I think a pizza place should look like. It just feels comfortable. One time on my birthday, my wife picked up the pizza and didn't realize that they gave her the wrong one until she got home. She called and went back to get the right one, and when she got there they had forgotten to remake it, so she had to wait. She was honestly pretty mad at that point after making two trips, which I don't blame her for at all. But they were so apologetic that they ended up giving us the pizza for free, and that honestly made up for everything and turned it into a really nice surprise. She got over it pretty quickly after that. Funny enough, it worked out as two trips for two pizzas, and my birthday is 2/2. Now whenever I eat pizza anywhere else, I end up comparing it to Pizza Leah. Other places have good pizza, but this one just checks every single box for me. It just is the perfect pizza for me.

The original brew master became the co-owner when the winery left the beer business in 2003. It was then moved this location in 2004, opening as a brewpub. It's been on my list of places to visit for a while, so my wife, her mom, and I took the opportunity to stop in for a Thursday night dinner on our way to San Francisco from Fort Bragg. The inaugural double IPA (aka Imperial IPA) was made by the current co-owner at a different brewery in 1994. Double means it uses double the hops and malts, and the ABV is quite a bit higher. He then created Pliny the Elder (ABV 8.0%) in 2000, recognized as the most famous DIPA. The track continued, with Pliny the Younger in 2005, a triple IPA (using triple the hops and malts with ABV of 10.25%). This version is available once a year in the spring, since it costs so much money and time to make. With so much malt being used, a large amount of time (and hops) is needed to balance. I've had Pliny the Elder in bottles before, and really liked it: I don't like the hoppy 'piney' taste in my beers, but also recognize that not enough will make the beer too sweet (which I've been facing with a lot my island beers lately). Parking is street only, but there was a lot of it, with the metered parking only requiring payment till 6 pm. We were greeted warmly by the hostess and immediately seated at a table near the bar. As expected, it was quite loud, with after work folks having a good time. We got menus, ordered our food, and then decided what to do about flights. The brewery is also known for their Belgian style and thus offers two different flights. It was my first time, and didn't know how much my wife could help, so decided to order the California Sampler (a selection of 12 different West Coast 5 oz. pours of ales and lagers for $15.45) to start: O.V.L. Stout (Old Vic Loyals) - Irish nitro stout - really beginning to love stouts, and this one was good. Velvet Glow - lager - solid. Ending up buying 6 pack to bring home ($12.99) STS Pils - pilsner. Bought a 6-pack for $12.99. Russian River Porter - Blind Pig IPA - West Coast IPA Happy Hops - Juicy IPA Mosaic Stack - West Coast IPA SimCoe 25 - West Coast IPA Citra Flash Mob - West Coast IPA Mind Circus - Hazy IPA DDH Pliny the Elder - really good. bought two cans at $5.99 each. Pliny the Elder - the original Felt pretty good, so decided to order the Belgian Sampler (9 different for $13.63), Surprisingly, I didn't like it nearly as much (my favorite fruit beer during this trip was the Howzit Punch beer). Petite Robert - table beer Little White Lie - Belgian White Robert - saison Perdition - biere de sonoma Damnation - golden strong ale Mortification - quad Supplication - sour brown ale Intinction - barrel aged pilsner Consecration - sour dark ale In terms of the food, it was solid. The 8 pc chicken wings ($17) were good, and the cheesy garlic bread ($10) was filling. I had the meatball sandwich ($16) and upgraded the fries to a spinach salad (+$4): it was tasty, loved the toasted French bread and marinara sauce, with the meatballs being OK (tasted from frozen)...loved the spinach salad with strawberries and blue cheese. We finished off our meal with a Vinnies (co-owner) sundae: good vanilla ice cream with whipped cream, chocolate sauce, and a lot of almond slivers. Payment was at the table, and me being again very pleasantly surprised at how little the flights were (a typical brewpub where they charge $3-$4 per 5 oz, would have cost 4 times as much...though of course I wouldn't have drunk as much either).

I got a half and half of the bear cub and the fountain grove. Starting with the dough - it was quite bland and odd texture. Not quite crispy, not quite chewy either - a weird in between. The cheese - good ratio, no notes here. the bear cub - good amount of pep applied on the pizza, no cupping action, but tasted fine. Doesn't taste like anything special, but holds its own here. The fountain grove - unfortunately quite a disappointment. Starting off, it was very salty. Maybe from the sausage or salami? I personally still don't understand the craze with piling on ingredients just to have them in California. I've seen it happen so often, and it always falls short of a cohesive pizza, and this one is the same story. Each bite it took just kind of tasted like an amalgamation of random ingredients, there was nothing complementing one another. Overall, a 2/5 pizza. Their employees are very friendly and seemed to have good service. My personal pizza tastes may disagree with others, but I hope there is some room for adjustment or improvement.

On most recent visit we had their Garden Salad and Chicken Parmigiana. Both the salad and the pasta were great! We loved the use of the three-bean salad in the Garden Salad. The Chicken parm was fresh, crispy, and the sauce was wonderfully tangy and fresh tasting. We thoroughly enjoyed the food, atmosphere, and the friendly service. We plan on making an effort to visit more often! Previous review: Only been by here a few times, as it is at the farthest end of town from where I live... That said, every time I have come, I have had great food and service. The fresh wood-oven pizzas are tasty - it is hard to beat a real wood-oven pizza. I have to say their smashburger is one of the best I have had (fries are pretty solid too!). They have a full bar, and good selection of beers and wines - so there is something for nearly everyone here. They get the basics here right - and the overall experience is pretty solid.

They have a fun selection of pizza toppings and other foods. The guys working there were friendly and helpful in making choices. We sat inside at one of the booths and enjoyed watching football in their TV. My only complaint was that it was kind of cold since they kept the front door open and it was a foggy day. We started with some wings with their mango habanero sauce. The wings were good and I really liked the sauce. I wish they could have been a little crispier, but they did the job. We had a split pizza. We did the Stormy, which was a BBQ chicken pizza. The other half was their Mac and cheese pizza. The BBQ chicken was really good. Sadly, the Mac and cheese was just not that flavorful. I probably would try something else next time. Gio's feels like a decent neighborhood pizza joint. If I lived in the area I would probably order from them pretty often, especially that BBQ chicken pizza!

Now I get the fun task of disputing this issue with the merchant, and likely my bank! Stay far away! So unscrupulous and disrespectful! I have never experienced something this brazen at a restaurant.
